  1. If you are floundering about wondering if there is a dual spec feature, not quite sure where to find it, fear not. There sorta is, it's just not really explained very thouroughly. You have to dig around the Legacy tree, and go to the Character perks. Down toward the bottom there is an unlock for a field respecc. For subrscribers, respeccs are free. So once you pay the cartel coins, or 200,000 credits (Not a lot at all) you can unlock that feature for your character.

Most new players can't use this right away, and that's fine. But it's nice to know for future reference. Or, if you have a couple bucks you can get the unlock with cartel coins and get a gnarly early game advantage.

  2. Now Disney have taken over Star Wars what would you like the next film to be about?

I quite like the idea of the Thrawn saga.

Stop making threads about this. Post in the dozens that already exist. Flag this thread for deletion.

  3. I would say considering Disney wants to make A LOT of SW movies, it's simply easier to go animated/cgi.

That way don't have to worry about actors and keeping them like the Harry Potter Series had.

Instead all you gotta worry about is simply voice actors matching the faces and that is WAY easier.

Plus you can record YEARS worth of movies in only a couple of years.

Trust me, it's simply easier to do it animated or CGI like Starship Troopers:Invasion.

It won't be animated. You are talking about the production company with the BEST toys in the world. The most money, the biggest sets, able to hire virtually any talent they want. The Mouse is powerful man. They are going to flex their muscles with this, mark my words. It's going to be... Impressive. if nothing else.

  4. gotta admit, hes right though :p Personally I wish that the movies were done and over with as well. This is clearly just a grab for money, and Im not hoping for much since its Disney :( ...the sad part is I will probably go and see them anyway

How is it a grab for money? Is it that wrong that people can't remake classic stories without it being a money grab or a ripoff? Wasn't ALMOST EVERY ONE of disney's best movies based on a classic? how is this any different?

By the way stay on topic.

  5. Personally I would preffer those movies where never made, unfortunately they are now on there way. And seeing they have a plan about making a new movie every 2 years, have me concerned this is just gonna be money making film that hold no respect for the original feel of star wars.

I hope to god I am wrong though.

On the other hand, then what makes you think Mara Jade would be in the films? Its highly unlikely they will be following any of the books from EU. Since the movies have presedence over the books when it comes to canon, they are more likely to take a hole nother way. Lucas already said that he would never have gone the way with future films as authors of the books have.

    You're not any fun. :d_frown:

  6. the way the original movies time period is perceive, it gives the idea of a galaxy that is recovering from the wars but yet has started another and with that is the lack of technology that was around in the times of the clone wars and as well even farther back in TOR.

Civilizations in the movies mostly looked more, war induced poverty type environments. Star Fleets look more like the oldest models around instead of new ones, not like the high tech appearance of the ships and star fleets of TOR or even the CW.

So whom is to say what kind or how high tech things were in TOR or Just how advance was the high tech before the war compared too hundreds and even thousands of years after war, just imagine how much tech was lost to war, in STAR WARS history.

    So any thing is possible.

    Except teleporters.

  7. More precisely, is it ok for the game to introduce technology and conflict that does not exist in the star wars universe.

Many star wars fan seems so opposed to the star trek's transporter (Enterprise, 3 to beam up!), because that is not star wars technology. Ok with that but some game mechanics could definitly be improved with the mechanic (bypassing orbital station). Beside, haven't the eshka discover the teleport anyway?

Let's talk about weapon. We have light saber, we have blaster.

How about a light bow or crossbow?

    How about a light whip?

How about lightdagger (as opposed to light saber)

    How about curved lightsaber.

    Let's talk about enemies.

Can the dev create a whole new lore, with all news alian species.

Something synthetics like the borgs or the cylons.

Something inspired from mythology (zeus, hades, thor, odin...)

Or would it be betraying star wars to do so?

question for the RP and lore specialist i suppose.

We have arc casters, thats pretty close to the "Light crossbow" you speak of. But if you understood the technology behind lightsabers, it doesn't make sense to have any related ranged weapons. Teleportation is a no. It would change so many things, so many aspects of star wars that are important. Boarding, tractor beams, invasions, troop transports... It would shake the Star wars universe so terribly that its just impossible to justify to the fan base. Time lapses in travel are already prelavent in-game, and you can already bypass the station. Simply pretend its a few minutes later. No teleporters. As far as curved lightsabers go, the beam does not bend. Though there are curved hilted lightsabers that function in much the same fashion when it comes to technique.

And there are light whips and daggers, though I'm not sure why you would want a light dagger. A good vibro-knife would usually suffice.

SWTOR has added several new races, including the Ancient Rataka and the fascinating new race of the Voss. I think they might have invented Selkath too, but I'm not sure. If you read more about the Kilick, they might fit into your borg archetype pretty well. As far as mythology goes, there probably already is some mythology inspired elements, but Star Wars tends to lean more towards references to Christian and especially Asian philosophy.

  8. what happened to the comics i wasnt rone reading them and they still havent come back please bring them back or tellme of another place to read them for FREE.

There's no way you've read every series.. And why free? Do you feel entitled to free comics? You think you are better than us?? HUH?? You some kind of Marxist? Trying to overthrow western civillization with your equal distribution of comic books???? HUH??? :jawa_mad:

  9. Agree, the space aspect of this game is very disapointing. Instant travel doesnt give you the feel thats its supposed to be a huge galaxy and space combat is just awfull. The only thing StarTrek Online did well was its space travel/comabt, would be nice to see something implemted like that in SWTOR in future. Better still BW should go back in time and check out Elite Frontier or even adopt someing like EVE but obviously on smaller scale.

There is a reason thats the only thing Startrek did well.

  10. This again? Seriously?

Okay, here is the deal. Space combat in TOR is a mini-game. MINI-game. It's perfectly acceptable the way it is, because its not the main event. This is a planet based, character based, traditional mmo. The space combat is extra, it's free exp and credits for you to enjoy or pass up daily.

If you want Space combat I recommend EVE online, because that's a game developed around it. Space combat is a big, complicated thing that would eat up just as much time and resources as the rest of the game. What you are asking for is HUGE, and before you go off acting like you're entitled to something you might want to think about the implications.

There is a lot of this game to add, a lot to fix, and a lot to do. Space combat just isn't important.

I'm perfectly happy with Starfox 64, it's an entertaining diversion and a good break from the leveling grind.

  11. My friend and I were leveling our agents in Tatooine one day when we came acrossed a smuggler stealthed in the corner of the sand people village. I spotted him rather easily, the air twinkled or he unstealthed for a second or whatever, and I cornered him. We both approached, two imperial femme fatales cornering a helpless Tramp doing whatever dirty republic task he had to do here. Trash talk ensued, the smuggler of course having a superior wit (No idea why, must be black magic) And after a particularly biting quip he dissapeared in a puff of smoke and hurried away.

    This was awesome.

We need more cross faction rp. Now I understand, people are used to not being able to understand eachother from WoW or what not but if you have the chance, a little star wars trash talk makes everything better.

    Bioware I wants macros.

  12. Mentally, perhaps the sith teachings would twist the concept of Zeltron culture in the character, and rather than sensuality being a celebration, the character would wind up using it as a weapon, causing her own paradox should the character find that using others in such a way is causing her own downfall. We all know of the corruption of the dark side, and how it changed the individual physically, would a Zeltron try to maintain a kind of balance upon realizing her own beauty was at risk? what steps would she go to in order to preserve that? Conflics of that nature weigh heavily on the mind, the choice to carry out what has been taught and accepted wholeheatedly, to what is best for self preservence.

...I contemplate far too much sometimes. I hope this character sees gametime, it would be wonderful to see it played out.

Hmm.. True. It's largely up to the Zeltron how she uses her dark side powers and how her morality swings. Corruption is possible, but only after she has already grown powerful in the dark side. By then, does she need her beauty? Or perhaps there is some sort of sith ritual or somesuch to preserve it, who knows. Perhaps the corruption wouldn't even happen, as she takes an entirely different view on using the darkside and her emotions for power. Maybe, the dark side corruption of Lust and Joy could make her even more beautiful?
