  1. It really isn't. The human brain only remembers significant things. You could be lagging while sitting in the pre-match spawn or while standing on fleet and never notice because at those times it didn't mean anything. but if you are in the middle of a important play and you lag, that's significant so you remember it.

The fact that you convinced yourself that its just those guys causing it just makes the problem worse. The human brain also does not like having its beliefs challenged and often warps your own perception to match what you believe. so for instance you get into a match against those guys and your brain automatically primes you to think that you are lagging during important plays.

I would take this with a grain of salt. For starters they could just be referring to a simple speed hack, which do exist in this game and will probably always exist in any online game. Its also just as likely if not more likely that they are just joking with your or trolling. For instance on my home server there has a been a long standing joke about how anyone who pulls really high numbers must be using "rivik haxs"

You realize how flawed this argument is right?

I agree with you about the admitting of using hacks. That's why I mentioned "for what it's worth".

As for the coincidence comment, I haven't convinced myself of anything. Just telling you how I see it. I can play 20 warzones with absolutely no issues. The ones that do have issues happen to be the guilds I am talking about. It's pretty much that simple. I don't go looking for anything. I have a very good computer with a very good internet connection and pretty much never get lag issues in a warzone.

I consider myself an above average pvper but far from the best. I have no problem with getting beat by someone better than me. Never cry hacks if it happens. I just don't take a game that seriously so you have me pegged all wrong. Only reason I replied to this thread is because it is something I have been noticing for a while now.

  2. I couldn't even begin to explain how it works because I have no clue. Is it possible? Who knows! I just find it hard to believe that it's one big coincidence every time it happens. Like I said before, without a doubt, it's always the same couple guild tags when it happens. That's one hell of a coincidence.

For what it's worth I also had someone from one of the guilds I am talking about admit that some of their guild mates are using hacks. Just because others don't see it or can't explain it, doesn't mean it's not happening.

Is it something to get all crazy about? NO! It's life. Whether it's sports, video games, your job. People will always look for the advantage to get ahead. Even if that means cheating.

  3. for hutball its right when someone walks off a platform this bug has been around since 1.2 or 1.3. Basically what it looks like is happening is the server says the player at this point, and the client says no im at this point. The server does some alogarithm to decide who is right , the server or the client for about 5 seconds(eternity in pvp), and when its done deciding where the player is actually at, they update his position then. 99% of the time the client wins and the player is teleported to where the client says he is at.

It happens a whole lot in hutball as hutball is one of the few maps with a platform you drop off of. However you will notice it in the new hutball at the begining when everyone jumps down, and you will notice it in civilwar when a player falls from one of the two side platforms.

The player doing it, never notices the bug as his screen stays normal the entire time. However everyone else will see it. Most players dont even know that it is happening, and its just a fortunate event as everyone stops attacking them.

its not reguarly an exploit, as most players can pull it off without even knowing they are doing it. It could be used as an exploit though.

Mostly its a bug bw needs to address. it has been their for so long though, i dont think it is going to be fixed anytime soon.

I totally agree with you about the bug in the situations you noted. However, that's not what I am referring to. More like when you are about to kill someone and you lag out, for like 5 seconds. When lag ends you are dead or the person you were about to kill is 50 meters away. Or when the enemy is capping and here comes the lag spike. Node or door is capped and there was no way to stop it.

There are other convenient situations that happens as well. Been pvping in this game a long time and totally understand the little bugs that seem like lag when people roll or force run, etc. I try to debunk everything weird that happens and most of the time it can be explained easily.

Proving these type of things is tough and pointless to be honest. At the end of day, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. It's a game.

  4. I've seen it at least a dozen times since I came back to the game about 2 months ago.

I wouldn't be concerned if the players were obviously lagging throughout the warzone. But this only occurs at very specific times, usually while trying to move the Huttball to the endzone, or right before the player in question is about to die.

People can deny it all they want but it is happening. I pretty much never get any lag issues in warzones but when I do, it's at very specific times. 9 times out of 10, if I look at the enemy guild tags, it's usually the same few guilds.

  5. Well good for you if you "want a challenge". I'm just there to kill everything in sight, not give special passes to people "brave" enough to run solo (who may even have 3 stealther buddies with him for all I know). And if it makes you guys feel better to call premades "terrible at pvp/1-on-1" or bullies/cowards/poo-poo-heads, to soothe your bruised egos, then knock yourself out, it doesn't shame anyone at all. ;)

I've sometimes run the pvp dailies solo, and it is a special thrill/challenge trying to get away with them while avoiding other players, or surviving if I do encounter them. But I don't begrudge being ganged up on by a group since that was part of the challenge of doing it solo. That just means I needed to be sneakier, more alert, and quicker than my opponents.

No bruised ego here and I definitely don't have anything against a premade group. When did I call people cowards for being in a group? Interesting. Just said I respect those solo players and enjoy running solo myself.

As for the comment about bads having to group I'm just calling it as I see it. Most of the time you can drop a group member so quick before you get ganked its ridiculous.

  6. That's why you don't go in there alone unless you're a stealther....

Not debating whether or not to go in there alone. I was just trying to point out that I agree it's pathetic to gank people. However, it is part of the game and really no big deal. If you choose to go in alone expect to be ganked. Pretty simple. All in all, we just need to have fun with it either way.

  7. Aw that's adorable, he thinks that free-for-all open world pvp is some kind of 1-on-1 dueling arena. :t_redface:

I don't think that's what he is thinking. You have to admit It's pretty sad when 4 or 5 people have to gank just 1. I personally just don't do it if I'm in a group. How is that fun? I'd rather have a challenge. It's usually the people that are terrible at pvp that need to run in huge groups.

I have more respect for the person who runs around solo and takes out someone before getting ganked. I myself enjoy doing that most of the time.

  8. Been trying some solo ranked pvp lately with my Ops healer. Is it common to pop out of stealth to start healing group and then just get chain stunned until I'm pretty much dead? I can usually roll away and if I'm lucky get cloaking screen off. Once I start healing it starts all over again lol.

Does having the right group pretty much dictate what happens? I have yet to get a tank in the group to guard me so I am hoping it would be a little better having that. Any help in strategy would be appreciated.

P.S. Definitely not new to pvp. I consider myself a pretty good. I am very close to full Brutalizer and I am fully augmented. Also always use a stim.

  9. I miss the days of SWG when you could attack player bases and spark some real nice pvp battles. Actually made perfect sense since there is a war going on. Why in the world we don't have something similar to that is beyond me. I guess pve pays the bills.
  10. Been noticing a lot of people in regular warzones wearing pve gear and putting up big numbers. I'm in full Obroan and working towards Brutalizer but I'm starting to think I may be wasting my time. Am I? Should I even worry about getting full Brut if I can put up bigger numbers with pve gear?
  11. There is a lot of healers out there that put up the big numbers because all they do is concentrate on healing. Most of them do not bother to keep an eye on objectives. Yes, they are healers and should be healing but if they are not going to help with the other crucial objectives then they are worthless.
  12. How people will adapt is switch to dps/tanks or stop playing. I love healing, but something feels off lately. What's the point if there's no survivability?

Yea I agree. Healing sucks right now. As a healer you absolutely need a tank guarding you and even then its tough unless there's another healer in group being guarded as well lol. In my opinion it was pretty easy to focus fire a healer down in 2.6, now it's ridiculously easy. Pretty easy to even solo a healer now. I'm going back to my dps toons.

  13. Although I do agree that its probably a L2p issue with the original poster, its not always the case. As Uelle said, if you are caught without your cc breaker ready and 2 people (who know how to play) stun lock you for 8 seconds it's pretty much over. I don't care how good you or your gear are. Happens all the time and its pretty annoying. They key is to not get caught alone but that's kind of hard in pug's. Well, thats swtor pvp so you either role with it or don't pvp. No point in complaining.
