[Question about Scounderal]

So im interested in scoundrel because i like the idea of sneaking up to an enemy and shooting them in the back with a shotgun. Will i enjoy Scoundrel? And if so what tree do i choose. Also i will be mostly PVEing

Ok so i choose trooper because i like the idea of playing a guy with a blaster. I choose vanguard because i dident want that heavy weapons guy who carrys a big gun and is slow. But come to find out vanguard is a melee class. Whats the point of even using a gun then. A trooper shouldn't be close combat like that. Its like im forced to play a commander now.
