Do I need to redeem or sign up for a Game Time stuff or the early game gives me that 5-6 days of free play?

After all the codes and change-this-and-that, I just got confused...

I still dont have my early-game code, but I cant even set my account cos I need a code for that. Is it the same code as the early-game code (wich was in the pre-order box), or what?

And the second thing: How big is the Game Client? What is it good for if I get the game tomorrow from the pc shop anyway?
