  1. Corso rules. Really. His personality is 100% win.

Bowdaar is just, ugh too cliche. Like i know the Han + Chewie thing but I don't want a ugly Wookkiee!

The Droid pisses me off. EVERY TIME I ENTER THE SHIP HE DOES HIS STUPID GROVELLING! OMG....is there a way to turn his voice off? It's just do wimpy and annoying. I hate having to pass him as I leave my ship, as i will once again be forced to hear his stupid voice.

Risha, well, I have no say on her. I just got her today. So. Yeah.....

I've had Corso out since I 'got him' except for one pull seeing what the Droid does (lol one pull was too much!) and i think I did half a 'kill x' side quest with Bowdaar. I Loved the sotry of saving Bowdaar, but I don't overly care for him as a character.

Besides, Harpoon Death Grip is SO useful. And I love how sometimes if you kill someone mid-harpoon, they get stuck there a la matrix.

  2. because it had 7 years to do research and development. A game released after it, should have an idea based on whats already done of what should be included an a next gen mmo.

As it stands, swtor is like WoW when it launched. Not how WoW is today. Which is the problem.

Problem with that thinking is that I liked WoW in BC (never played in classic, tbh) more than i like the LFR/LFD/Queueland of WoW Today.

I also know many people, and I'm not joking about the 'many' (worked at a tech support office for att uverse, many many gamers/nerds there), that feel the same way.

I'd happily spam Fleet general chat for a half hour looking for heals, for when i find that heals, they will be on my friends list and if theyre good i will ask them if they'd like healing other times. In WoW it's 'ohhai strange healer from random server #209!'....

  3. No, just like all MMOs.

    So far I have played:

    EQ

    EQ2

    SWG

    DAoC

    Linage 2

    WoW

    LoTRO

    AoC

    D&DO

    Eve

    Rift

    And now SW:TOR

    Welcome to MMOs.

Did you even read my post fully?

    Seriously?

I'm not saying the game is like WoW, because I really don't see how it is. Yes it's got raids and hotkeys w/e, but it's got a lot of different things than WoW.

No, please go read my post again, Not just read 'just like WoW,' read it. I'm comparing it to WoW in the fact that Rift was a hollow game once you got past it's invasions and rifts, whereas WoW and SWTOR both have built on one thing and gotten better and better as I leveled through.

  4. I can almost guarantee if there was no space combat people would be complaining. Its better to have something than nothing and this something is pretty well done. I remember that SWG had no space at launch, that was a travesty.

Is it the best space combat suited for this game? No. But its still enjoyable and a nice break from questing.

There is room for improvement and revamps. Something I'm sure will come in the future.

ATM space combat is a great minigame. Nothing more, nothing less...

  5. It's funny, I was thinking about this last night.

When I first joined Rift, for it's beta, I had barely left the noob zone and walked into Silverwood before a zone event started, and obviously it hooked me in, like 'omg this is amazing so much better than WoW!!!!' Problem is when you do these zone events, it starts as 'OMG' and goes to 'meh' by the 100th time. Everything feels the same, and I got bored.

How does this compare to SWTOR? While, actually it doesn't. I compare SWTOR to my early WoW experiences. There wasn't a bunch of Murlocs invading Elywnn or something, just like Ord Mantell didn't have this huge hook either, but it built up.

The Story, the first Flashpoint, first Companion, getting my Ship back....

    Just like in WoW.

SWTOR, to me, doesn't need a hook to make it amazing, because the sum of all pieces make it so. To me it does everything right and doesnt rely on one shallow part of the game (ie zone events in rift) to make it stick out in my memory.

    Just like in WoW.

Now don't flame me for that, because in the end, I left Rift after ~6mos, and I've played WoW for 4 years. So atm, calling something 'just like WoW,' in this aspect, is exactly what you want to be. Rift started a 10, then slowly fell...9.5....8.....whereas SWTOR and WoW both started as a 6....then 6.5.......then 8.....then.....

Personally, I think Blizzard is gonna have some issues with me next month, as that whole 'annual pass' only works if the CC you have it on has funds on it ;)

Bioware, you have me for at least a few more months. Please don't let endgame be a letdown :)

  6. I'm almost done Taris on my Gunslinger. I'm level 18 (3/4 to 19) and i just handed in the stuff to Risha and she wants to leave.

I have like a CRAPTON of quests left. Yeah sure it's not my story quest, but I can see getting to level 21 easily with just those quests before I leave the planet.

I've never done a WZ, I've only done Essels once (and never done any of the H2/H4 quests either on Coruscant or Taris.

Overall pretty happy with the amount of quests on Taris. Pretty happy with EVERYTHING on Taris, as IMO it's 100x better than Metal Land (aka Coruscant)....

  7. A new Planet? Already? Really?

    Woa. Mind = Blown.

I heard about the FP/Op stuff, but a whole new planet, that's pretty darn sweet if you ask me....

Hopefully we'll be getting a few bug-fix patches while we wait. As funny as it is when my companion grapples a mob over and I kill it in mid-air and it gets 'stuck' in place a la matrix, it's kind of.....not supposed to happen....

  8. Ok so I'm a level 15 gunslinger, and i just recieved my ship, and along with it quests to go to two new planets.

Problem is i wanted to visit the trainer in coruscant before i left, so i left said ship, trained, and now im stuck with a 'red portal' saying i cant go into my ship/phase.

How can i get to my ship or the other planets? Fleet? Put in a ticket?
