If the other two builds werent weak versions of other classes I would play something other than Darkness.
But deception is bad and madness is a headache to even run.
Too many people making too many claims about classes they dont play.
-
for pve? who cares... for pvp? hell yes!
Ok, yeah for pvp. But death field is rather clunky so far for me.
-
Is the increased crit damage (50%) on thrash worth giving up wither?
-
statistic of my that_game warrior say that i run 4.6 dungeon per 24 hour of playtime, 1245 in total and none of them was "ruined game experience"
yea bad attitude
ofc it's better be like you ppl, cry about "ohnoesss game ruined" over what?
wipe?
someone rude to you?
someone need-roll "your" loot?
someone (tank) is new player or noob?
Cross server LFD sucks because people enter the queue, run flashpoints, and never get to know each other.
Impatience is what is ruining mmos today. No one wants to or is willing to make friends.
-
I support cross server LFG tool. People keep talking about this imaginary community which will be destroyed. Where is this community? 80 to 100 people standing in fleets?
The real community exists in guild and if you are already in a good guild why you care if LFG tool is cross server or not? complaining just for the sake of it
So you need a LFG tool because you cant get any guilds to accept you?
No wonder it promotes ninjas and trolling.

Cross Server LFD tool to do the Flashpoints you can only do once without risking outleveling the story.

Who cares, just have fun.

Case in point. On my 'Full' population WoW server, there are currently 311 people in Stormwind. This is on one of the highest populated oceanic servers @ 6pm.
On my 'Heavy' oceanic TOR PvP server, there are currently 192 people online on the fleet.
Going by these numbers, TOR obviously has 2/3rds of the population of WoW.
RIGHT?!
Here's an idea - judging a servers population by the population in any one area at any one point of time is a fool's errand.
I'm not judging one way or another what TOR's server populations are across the board - or how TOR's subscriptions are going. But I do judge peoples methods of determining server population.
Yeah except wow has 50+ heavy servers, and Tor has 3.
Tor also has 150 light servers.
See how its different?
-
How many people do you think there REALLY are in Stormwind on a single WoW server? Do you think it will be anywhere near 10 million?
Yeah if theres 300 in the fleet you are looking at less than 50 on tattoine, correlia, alderaan, voss, quesh, and balmorra.
But you know, its all a big scham.
Theres 10 thousand people on each server you just cant see them because bioware fanboy says so.
Games falling apart and 1.2 is the last real hope for change.
-
I'm not defending anything. Just providing my anecdoctal experience from yesterday.
Also, even assuming the game is dying, the game 2 months ago had 1.7 million + subscribers. According to you, 2 months later, now there are only a few thousand players consistently playing the game at any given time. A decline of that magnitude is not only epic, but completely unlikely. It would go down as the fastest dying game in history, and you think this is plausible?
I don't. And I would bet money that this isn't a case.
Your server is considered full, FULL, and there were 300 on the fleet.
I mean cmon dude. How does that translate to 2 million?
-
OK surely you don't believe this. So if only 3 servers have 100+ players on...and the rest have <100 players on...then by extrapolating you're saying that there are only but a few thousand players playing SWTOR on any given moment. Now that's a stretch.
It really isnt if you actually play the game.
The only people defending the low population are the people like you who play on Switfsure, The Fatman, and whatever other servers arent dead yet.
Even Iron Citadel is dead now.
-
I dont see this game has more than 400k actual players right now.
-
Swiftsure.
Yeah, thats one of the 3 servers that have more than 100 people online at any one time.
-
My server had 300+ and two instances on fleet yesterday on prime time...
Fatman?
-
Funny that at this moment for US servers, there are:
69 Standard
49 Light
5 Heavy
I am now starting to wonder, is there really a severe population shortage on servers, or are some people complaining that they don't see people playing at 8am in the morning?
Why are people being so selective about server loads, deliberately choosing the time when there are little people playing?
Stop lying.
My old server was standard and had 30 people on the fleet at primetime.
-
Serious question.
How long before the game is too dead to justify development?
-
Dude came here to play a pvp game.
Was too lazy to watch any of the countless pre-release videos about how this is a pve game.
-
Like they did with Warhammer right?
-
Lol marauder isnt op.
-
I prefer balance over kinetic combat, yes kc may be stronger but balance is fun and puts up impressive numbers, the other night I litteraly fell asleep in a warzone playing kinetic combat, now granted I worked a 12 hour day and was really drunk but still I fell asleep!
Numbers mean nothing.

Assassins get 35% shield chance from talents.
They take the least amount of all kinds of damage.

Deception is terrible in World PVP because you can be killed in 2 stuns.
-
The only reason Darkness is 'easier' is that when you can kill people using 3 buttons you can do stuff like forgetting you have CDs and just press 3 buttons. If you tried that with Deception you'll usually have your face rearranged very quickly. It doesn't mean Darkness can't use the same CDs, it's just they usually don't even have to bother with them at all. For example I almost never use Spike in Darkness unless it's against a Merc healer to deal with their bubble. It doesn't mean I can't use it but I have no reason to need it against any other class.
The basic Deception rotation is just VSX2, Shock, Maul/Discharge whenever applicable, which is not very different from a Darkness rotation of Wither/Shock/FL. Difference is that you also need every one of your cooldowns in Deception to put up a reasonable performance, while Darkness can do pretty well without them (but he can always use the same CDs if he wanted to).
Voltaic Slash, Shock, Discharge.
Woot Deception is hard.

Bioware wants as many people to stay until The Secret World comes out as possible.
Then EA pulls the plug and moves on.
Like they do with all their mediocre money grabber games.
Tank Assassins (and Shadows) are ruining PvP.
