  1. First I want to mention, that the actual Hero Engine, the one the SWTOR engine is being shaped from has acutal vast posibilities for charcter optimisation.

However understanding, that so many changes to any toon recreating into the game would fill the bandwith with (useless) data is not practical. But even though, some additional layers should be added at lest for having more possibilities for toon setting.

By the way, did you know the Hero Engine has the same potential for toon design like the Cryptic Engine, which is been used for STO? You know, the one, where you can design almost everything beside your toon has to be humanoid. ...Yeah, and here we have to choose between this bozos as avatars.

I actually wasnt aware of the capabilities of the Hero Engine. Thanks for the knowledge.

As far as bandwith goes I am sure they can figure out way to make this work out for both the players and their servers. But in any case something as to give. Character creation in my opinion is just way to bland and should be looked at in terms of making it better.

  2. I dont truly see why people are so eager to post on why yhey are leaving. I played this game from beat to about 7 months after it came out. Got burnt out and left until this past March. Got interested in other games and then came back just this month and am enjoying the game tremendously. Sometimes a break is all ypu need. But when I did leave I did post on the forums that im leaving just to get attention. I left quietly and came back quietly. The only ones who had I left are those that I play with in game. So seriously getting upset over the fact that you rushed to 50 and are now quitting because of lack of end game is your own doing no one elses.
  3. Addons prevent player progression and here is how. In several MMO's that I have played if you didnt have a certain add on you couldnt run dungeons and were thus unable to progress you characters gear. Also if you werent putting out the best DPS then you would be kicked out of the group which would then prevent player progression. How are you suppose to get better at playing your character if no one will allow you play a dungeon simply because you dont have a certain add on.

A lot of players are against add ons not because of them being afraid of others seeing how much damage they are failing to do but because of the segregation that comes with it. I personally will not download any third party application due to viruses and other harmful things that can cause harm to my computer. I have had to many accounts hacked into and will not take a chance with my SWTOR account.

I am personally behind bioware when they first said that addons will not be allowed and personally if addons do become the norm for this game then you will see more people leave than you would subscriptions just because of the type of community it brings with it.

So no thanks to the addons. Besides they have other issues to worry about and allowing add ons isnt one of them.

  4. Right...because with their history, expecting MORE than what they hype, is wise...right?! Because, it's not like we have 19 months of history that completely destroys your theory of "maybe there's more". You focus on what you want, nobody asked you to comment on 2.4.

Im sorry I didnt realize I need permission to comment on public forums. You're once again getting upset over redundant crap. Am I for more PVP content, absolutely. But am I gonna sit here and get all upset because of the lack of information we are getting? No not really. The thing is bioware is doing a classic PR stunt by giving out just enough information to get players hooked so that they stay to see what 2.4 is going to offer. However, bioware could offer the freaking moon and people are still going to complain that isnt enough. They wanted a bigger moon or some such.

All Im saying is that we ALL need to just wait to see if any more information is going to get put out before we start jumping to speculations. If when they do finally post what is coming to 2.4 and it doesnt have a whole bunch of pvp oriented things then by all means let the flame threads begin. And at that time I will simply sit back and watch. But seriously though getting upset over something isnt even confirmed yet is well...

  5. The thing is that Bioware has promoted 2.4 as a huge PvP patch, when it only includes a singular feature for PvP (that has been announced so far). That is why people are angry, not because it also contains PvE content.

I for one, do not care. I have not PvPed since 1.2.

Key phrase...that has been announced so far. The problem is is that people consistently read to much into what gets posted by the devs and start speculating. Then get upset because they didnt get what they thought they were going to get. Also you may want to take note that 2.4 is still a ways off. 2.3 hasnt even came out yet (I think). So lets focus on one patch at a time.

  6. I personally think ESO is over hyped anyway. Its going to end up down the same path as SWTOR and become F2P in a short time.

Now dont get me wrong I enjoy this game just as much as the next guy but even still the game got hyped up a lot and fell short in a lot of areas. I can honestly forsee the same thing happening to ESO. But at the end of the day all we can do is wait and see what happens.

  7. Nar Shaddaa RP in the cantina still happens as this allows foe cross faction RP. The fleet like others have stated also isa viable option. And typically I do better with improv RP more than having a set story as it has actually allowed me to build an awesome story so far with my main. From what I understand those players with whom have interacted with actually enjoy it.

In any case good luck in your search.

  8. I know that many will probably disagree with this but its a thought and was curious about it.

I think that the different Jedi Classes should be able to use double bladed lightsaber and should be able to dual weild instead of it being just limited to one AC. The way they could implement thhis would be through the legacy system where you have to have leveled a shadow to 50 to unlock the double through legacy and a sentinel to unlock the ability to Dual Wield. They could also make it to where you have to be a certain legacy level to unlock it as well. We could say legacy 40 or so.

Now I understand that this is what sets the two classes apart but thought that it could add a fun factor to the game. I.e a Guardian force leaping into battle wielding a two handed saber. Of course skills would need to be changed but thats where another AC could come into play as well.

Just a thought. What do the rest of you guys think?

  9. I have a similar question, though I'm on Begeren Colony. I lead a guild, am level 54 - soon to be 55 - and I want to do some ops myself. But how do I publicly organize one with having to keep it in guild?

So are you wanting to keep it in guild or have it non-guild?

If you want to keep it in house you could post on your guild website that you want to run an ops one night when everyone is available or if you dont have a guild website you can edit the MOTD under the guild manager in game placing time day and what ops you are wanting to run.

If you want to do a public ops run you could go to your server forums here on swtor.com and place it there or simply go to fleet and post in general chat.

  10. Hey guys, please don't freak out at me if there is a proper place on the forums for this, i'm new to the forums. Anyway, i just reached level 50, and I want to do operations. Unfortunately, i am on the ebon hawk server, so its rp, not pve. And i spent 2 hours in operation queue for all operations as a tank, without any result. I searched for guilds that do operations in an organized fashion, but I couldnt find one. So my question is, are there an guilds on the ebon hawk server willing to take in a new level 50 that do operation regularly? Thanks in advance.

Ebon Hawk has several guilds that run Ops. The below thread will help.

  11. So lately there has been a lot of negativity towards SWTOR. Some of it is warranted but in hopes of lightening the mood a bit I thought this might help. Some long time players may remember this:

can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out.

    Never forgotten battlebug.

  12. Hi All,

Chances are These questions may have been answered, if so I apologise in advance. I have been a subscriber since day 1 of the game and loved every bug filled moment in this game and made some terrific friends. But now its getting more difficult to play due to a job which sees me traveling every few weeks and go to places where proper net connection is an unknown phenomenon. while I still would like to continue, the amount of time I'll be able spend doesn't really justify the monthly sub. So I am posting these questions -

    1. End Game Gear - I have multiple 55s who are in various mix of artifact gear (66s and 69s with a couple of 72 mods - I am mentioning the rating for reference). As far as I am aware, Preferred Status players will need to buy an unlock for artifact gear. My question - since I already have them equipped, do I still need to buy the unlocks to be able to play the toons or do I lose all that gear until I have the equipment authorisation and then re-farm all those back?

    2. Personal Bank Vault Tabs - All my toons have max amount of Personal Vault Tabs. A few have all their vaults maxed (Yes I am a hoarder, orange, purple, blue, crystals, it doesn't matter I'll hoard them, why I don't know:p). I believe preferred status players will still need to buy personal storage access from the CM. My Question - Do all these vaults along with their content disappear? or do they stay until I unlock the access authorisation?

    3. On Person Storage Space - Similar to above Question - do they stay, or do I lose them until I get additional slot unlocks from the cartel market and then have to re-buy them?

    4. Maximum number of Toons - I believe There's a limit on the number of toons preferred status players can have (I think its 6?). Do I lose access to all my other ones until I buy additional character slots (Currently I have 15 Harbinger on one server and 6 on Begeren Colony).

    5. Access to Section X + HK-51 - All my Harbinger toons have HK-51 unlocked. Do I need to re-unlock them or they stay unlocked and all I will require is Sec-X access Authorisation?

    6. Crew Skills - I believe Preferred Status Players can only have 2 crew skills and send out maximum 2 companions for gathering missions. I have a few toons that have 3 maxed gathering skills (was never much of a crafter:o) am I correct in assuming I will lose my 3rd gathering skills on these toons and will need to buy a crew skill unlock and max it out again?

Thanks in advance to all those who reply:D

Any gear currently obtained remains untouched. Ive gone back and forth between subscriber and preferred on quite a few occansions. HK remains unlocked and the bank remains unlocked. However if you want this stuff for a new character you will then have to buy the unlocks.

As far as your toons go you will have to choose which ones you want to activate and such when ypu first login. For anything above the preferred status availability you would then have to buy more slots and then activate the character to fill that slot. I hope this makes sense.

  13. But shouldn't people have a bit more respect for the people they group with?

So they want to roll greed on an item to sell it at a vendor for probably 2K, that is fine, but at some point, where does the respect come into play? I could have rolled greed on many items to sell, but out of courtesy to my group, I click pass and allow it to go to someone who actually deserves it and will make better use of it for their character.

I dont see how rolling greed on item that everyone else is rolling greed is disrespectful. If a player rolls need and everyone else rolls greed that player gets the item. Doesnt matter if a greed player roll 99 and a need player rolls a 1. The need stomps the greed every time. If every player rolls greed Im not gonna roll a pass. I roll pass when someone rolls need because they are going to get the item anyway.

  14. Dozens of groups being held back from doing flashpoints for long periods of time because no healers/tanks are available is not a fun aspect of this game.

If BW had made good on their design statement that 'any group can do any content' thing, dual skill tree specs and ACs wouldn't be needed. But they didn't, so they are.

Leveling a pure healer or pure tank, while not as bad as in other games, is a laborious pain in the keaster and, as it turns out, is, in fact, hurting the smooth flow of the game.

Please as dual speccing asap BW.

Unless of course having us locked out of flashpoints for extended periods of time is part of the game design. In which case, good job! =D

I dont understand why your are saying that leveling a pure healer or pure tank is a laborious pain in the keaster. Im lvling a pure tank just fine and a pure healer. Btw, I solo mostly everything. Im more than available for group quests but no one ever posts anything for me join. Im on the security server, I forgot what its called.

But in any case, I disagree completely. Dual Spec is not needed. If its implemented in the game then well fine but all its going to do is take guys like me who do roll pure breeds and make them obsolete.
