  1. It is really shameful that BW allowed valor farming to go on for so long. It became clear during first week that scaling formula broke down at level 50, yet they didn't attempt to fix it nor separate into brackets until 1.1

     

    Now we will have bunch of 50 that farmed low levels making it difficult for new level 50 to rank up valor. Clearly, reset needs to happen.

    What sense of community? Most people solo-queue, most people won't remember more than a couple people on ether side. Your imaginary "sense of community" is non-issue.

     

    You want community? Implement arenas, you really get to know people on your team, plus if you ever make it to the top, you get to know everyone you fight against.

    Issue with existing approach is that level 50 isn't peak of character power, you get item-levels after that and formula does not account for it. So some level 50s are effectively level 55, or 60 while all low levels are normalized to level 45 or so.

     

    Actually formula works rather well 10-40ish, it starts breaking down after that.

    To truly fix the formula couple things need to happen.

     

    #1 - you are scaled up to level 50 + ilevel based on your level + ilevel. So level 20 in fantastic gear (for level 20) gets to be stronger than level 50 in level 40 gear.

     

    #2 - unlock key abilities in WZ for all levels. Some classes simple do not work pre-level X, where level X is when they get key abilities. You can move these abilities to level 10, or you can let characters "sidekick" these powers for WZ use.

  5. Reset has to happen. BW dropped huge ball allowing 50s to continue farming low levels for so long, allowing exploiters to keep ill-gotten gain is just even worse.

     

    This is not unlike gold dupe - someone got tons of valor points without having to compete for it. This is not unlike using hacks to kill end-game raid bosses on hard modes - someone got tons of PvP gear without having to compete for it.

     

    Reset gear. Reset valor. Do it via hotfix as soon as possible. 1.1 is not soon enough.

     

    Alternative - give _everyone_ rank 60 valor. Ether way, cheaters SHOULD NOT, CAN NOT keep their ill-gotten gains.

  6. 50s should not get any valor from farming low levels in WZ. If you can figure out a way and remove valor acquired in this way - go for it, otherwise just reset it with 1.1 to a reasonable level (~40) @ 50 so everyone is at equal footing.

     

    Here is another analogy - if when game came out some people started at level 1 and some at level 20 and more people got to 50, harder it takes to get to 50. That what current situation is like as far as valor acquisition is concerned.

  7. Simple truth is that mixed level WZ is an EPIC FAIL. 50s are effortlessly farming low levels and getting undeserved valor. This not only creates situation where sub-50 WZ gameplay is broken, it also gives huge advantage to 50s who managed to exploit this situation and farm Valor.

     

    Following needs to happen - as of 1.1 all Valor above 40 needs to be reset, so both old and new 50s get to compete on even basis.

     

    Make it happen.

  8. There is absolutely no denying that Hutt favors some classes, scoring mechanic and ramp layout makes some specs must-have and auto-win. This wouldn't be an issue if only it had some more ramps.
  9. If one team is well coordinated and the other isn't, the one that isn't is going to lose the match.

     

    Unless they have more level 50s, can roll over you 3:1 odds and no amount of coordination would help you.

     

    You have a huge problem when 3 low-mid levels can't take out lone level 50 guarding cannon control point. At that point enemy team has technical numeric advantage.

  10. You got to be kidding me......Huttball is fine when you learn to play right, that is all.

     

    Translation - my classes can dominate huttball, please don't take my PvP grind shortcut away.

     

    Huttball is _NOT_ fine unless a) not fun unless you play specific classes b) 99% ether quit or don't bother with objectives.

  11. Why Hutball is bad PvP

     

    1. Knockbacks rule the day - considering how contrived ramp system is, getting knocked back is all but puts you out of the fight. You can't defend against it, you don't even have resolve bar to help with it.

    2. Leap/Charge - classes that can get around ramps do extremely well, others do not. Having an ability to take shortcut while carrying ball is all but cheating.

    3. Range has unreasonable advantage - too much high ground and not enough ways to get there.

    4. Throw ball is a separate ability - most people don't throw ball because of it. This is amazing ability, but it requires cooperation and competence, not something you can expect out of random group of people.

    5. No way to defend or attack - gameplay is all rowing gank, due to #4 and #1 matches always run max duration with people simply ganking.

    6. Timed flames - getting CCed in flames suck, they don't add anything but annoyance to the game.

     

    Suggestions to fix:

     

    A. Add more ramps - keep 3 levels but moving between them should be less complicated. This needs to happen to lessen effects of #1 and #3

    B. Instead of central location, make balls spawn at the opposite side of the map. That is, 2 balls in play at all time, one per team. This needs to happen to improve #5.

    C. Ball carrier cannot use any movement powers and cannot be knocked back. This needs to happen to help with #2.

  12. Biowares response would likely point out that you're all given similar HP due to match bolster - and that their advantage is having a few more skills to use, where-as yours is getting XP from the kills you're helping to get.

     

    10k hit points against 15k+ hit points and damage... you can easily get hit for 2-3K a pop from 50s while dealing 500ish damage back.

     

    Scaling formula is broken. You have ZERO chance to take on 50 unless you are also 50.

  13. I like to watch cut scenes, even for flash points I have done in the past. I want them part of my game.

     

    I absolutely _HATE_ announcer in Huttball, I refuse to play this BG because of this.

     

    Suggestion - give people an option to turn off "PvP-only" cutscenes and announcers. Let us play in peace without "Frooogdooo ..... *rage*

  14. I forgot to mention that this is with Vsync turned off. turn it off, and check again. tons of people are reporting swtor heat problems around the net.

     

    They probably don't cap MAX FPS - during cut scenes it gets ultra-high and this causes heat issues. Beefier your rig, higher MAX you get more heat it produces.

     

    My advice - turn off all OC, your system will have enough reserve to handle heat spikes.
