  1. Hi, I'm Zeki.

I transferred from Jung Ma to Harbinger, and then from Harbinger to here. I see plenty of posts about people looking for guilds after transferring, but not all that many posts about what the server itself is like. Naturally, I could do my own research, and I have to some extent gotten info from friends who have been here a while, but it's always nice to ask folks on the forum anyway.

    1. What is PvP like here in both regs and ranked? Are reg queues typically as slow as they've been the past several days, or is that more due to the group glitch as well as the start of ranked Season 7? I've already enjoyed the sweet blame-heavy nectar of salty, bad DPS in ranked, so that isn't something new, at least!

    2. Holy RP, Batman. Are there a lot of community-wide RP events on the server, or are they typically inside of guilds? I'm not too interested in guilds right now, but would like to participate in RP.

    3. Is there an Enjin or website that coordinates/posts specific TEH events? Is there a forum for roleplay?

    4. What is the overall community like? I'd like the good and bad, but of course, no random guild mud-slinging. That I can eventually figure out for myself.

    5. What is the economy like most days? I'm quite surprised to see how expensive MK-9 kits are here compared to Harbinger, and I am rather mystified with the insane prices of several armor pieces and sets.

That's about all I can think up. I'm enjoying this server more than I did Harbinger, and have seen a lot of familiar faces around. Thanks for any info you can give me!

    1. Regs have been pretty good. I would assume the slow ques are due to the bug.

    2. There's quite a bit of both.

    4. Very interconnected. The ERP is all over. Still getting the lay of the land after moving a week ago myself.

    5. No idea. I don't spend much time on the GTN at all.

  3. It's true. I don't troll.

We will be active here on Jung Ma up until April 5th. Our patrols will continue every weekend. March 13th, 20th, 26th, and an undecided day on the weekend April 1-3.

  4. Really? I've been on Ebon Hawk for ever....

    Former A-Coy Caleban (Caylaben now)

Hey man, yea that name is definitely familiar.

    You should think about re-applying.

Sun-sin and Nixx, you flatter us.

Elisel, good to meet you. I spoke to an EC member (Izumi I think) last night. She was very nice getting me up to date on your current leadership.

  5. Hello Ebon Hawk!

Alpha Company, 203rd Republic Expeditionary Legion will be moving to Ebon Hawk right after patch 4.3 goes live in April.

We will be restarting our weekly patrols on this server as soon as possible after the move.

<Remnants of Hope>, <Penumbral>, <Knights of Sokan>, <Clan Epsis>, <Nerd Rage>, <Seelund Cartel> and <House Kiln’dar> and probably some others. You have either already been reached out to or will be reached out to in the coming weeks.

If any guilds would like to get in contact with us to organize anything WPvP or RP, feel free to contact any of our officers and NCOs

If you want to contact me specifically, you can PM me here, send a message to my enjin account, or send an in game mail to my lvl 1 trooper here on EH named Kjva'go.

  6. I saw Ranque in voidstar a couple nights ago under the Alpha tag. Said oooooh snap its happening.

Yea, it's happening. We'll be moving April 5th.

What you see now is just a couple of us stirring the waters and getting in contact with a few guilds before we move.

It'll be good to fight against Nerd Rage again.

  7. WHO: All Alpha Company Personnel

    WHAT: Combat Patrol

    WHEN: Friday , 2/26/16 @ 8pm EST

    WHERE: Corellia

    DURATION: 1 hour

POINT OF CONTACT: 1SG Kjvago Mahr

Starting at 8pm EST on Friday (tomorrow), we will be patrolling Corellia for about an hour. Our patrol route will begin at the Republic controlled tramstop "Uptown" in the Goverment District. From there we will travel south towards Business Sector through the middle of the district. From there we will turn West, and then North through Capitol Square before heading back to Uptown.

(Imperials welcome, whether you simply want to RP or engage in combat.)

  8. The 36 is based on one 24-man group composed of Alpha Company, The True Republic and Marine Expeditionary Unit. And one 12-man group of Sanctuary. I don't know if Sanctuary grew past that during the event, but that's the number I was given by Nivhawk when they arrived on planet.

That number isn't counting any independent players who may have joined which is why based on the 36 and 30 number I estimated the total number of participating players to 70.

And the 36 is excluding any random questers leveling or the CIA referees who might skew the number of players given by the /who list.

30 Imperials is based on an estimate given to me by Sanctuary the second time you took the bridge. This was about halfway into the event after NERD RAGE took the field. You were definitely smaller before that. And I don't think NERD RAGE joined the larger ops group, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here.

Another thing that might make Republic seem larger than it was is that the 24-man group holding the Comm Tower primarily was rotating about half the group back and forth from the Tower and Bridge based on where our scouts saw you moving to attack.

The 50-60 number is probably based on the /who list which is not an accurate measure of participation. If it was, then either number would indicate that the Sanctuary group was a full 24-man which I doubt or there was a third group, unrelated to Sanctuary, holding the Bridge with them which I doubt again.

  9. To give further info to anyone who may wish to run into us:

We'll be heading North from Wardpost Luurdes through King's Pass past Outpost Talarn and into the Juran Mountains. Then West across the river by House Alde and North past Wardpost Landa and into Glarus Valley before ending the patrol at Wardpost Hurne.

  10. First a thank you to everyone that came out to fight, both Imperial and Republic. We estimate that there were around 70 individual players fighting on Belsavis last weekend with the numbers slightly in favor of Republic who had somewhere above 36 players versus the Empire with somewhere above 30.

BIG thank you to <Chorba Intelligence Academy> for refereeing the event, not many guilds would be willing to sit out of the fun and just watch like that.

    In Character Consequences

Republic: After the battle, the security staff in charge of Hrokkvir’s containment went to check on him, but when they arrived at the containment unit it was empty. An alert was sent out that Hrokkvir was free.

It is clear that since the battle proved a failure for the New Era, Hrokkvir must have been freed before the attack.

Since The New Era still attacked, they must have been unaware that Hrokkvir was free.

Based on this we can infer that there must be a third party at work.

Imperial: The New Era retreat from Belsavis, their mission a failure. They are unaware that Hrokkvir is free and have no reason to suspect a third party.

    Things we learned as organizers

Shard lockout is still an issue - After our last event had severe lockout problems we considered making this event happen across two planets and were for a long time talking about using four hills across Belsavis and Section X. We reconsidered this after many Jung Maians left the server in the time between our last event and this one and went with just Belsavis. We were wrong. We know of at least one person who experienced lockout and was unable to join the event, there are likely more.

Lag is still an issue - The design decision to split the event across two hills was with the intent of limiting lag from number of players on screen. I think this was successful to a degree. We still had some complaints, but lag is unavoidable in this game. The complaints were mainly from people unfamiliar with world PvP who were playing on higher settings. World PvP requires you to turn your settings down as low as you can. I’m not sure that splitting the event further would have added value when you consider the increased complexity, travel times, and that part of the fun is getting those large numbers of players.

Splitting the event had unexpected positive consequences - Splitting the event across two hills made the event remain engaging for the losing side. Despite being outmatched in the score, the Empire was able to make successful assaults on individual hills and have a fun back and forth. If the event had only featured one hill, the Empire would likely have been throwing themselves against the defenders fruitlessly and become demoralized. This proved more engaging for both sides as the Empire could have small victories within the event and the Republic had to work to maintain possession of both hills.

    Moving Forward

The direction the story is heading in dictates the nature of the next event in the series. The way the event will function means that we will need a strict cap of no more than 24 Republic players. As such the next event will not be posted on the public forums and will be recruited for by word of mouth instead in order to preserve this balance.

We’ll be sure to make the next event after that a larger scale one again where everyone can participate.
