  1. Have any of you even hit end game? Talk to me when you've cleared all content first week of attempting it. There is absolutely nothing in place to keep people around, aside from re-rolling. That's what was great about WoW. No matter what you wanted to do, re-roll, raid, pvp, it did it and it did it well.

On my WoW main, I would raid about 6-8 hours a week and that was it, I didn't do anything else that week. Maybe one hour of arena, tops, but that would be a fleeting thing because I hate arena.

Otherwise, I was leveling alts. That's what I like to do.

    I'm happy with ToR.

  2. I HATE Star Wars. I think it's insipid. I think the fact that Bioware could make a game set 3000 years before the movies and still have the universe look exactly the same as the movies is absolutely ridiculous and appallingly uncreative. I think George Lucas is one of the least talented people to ever make movies and I think the setting and story of the Star Wars movies are ridiculously bad. I would say that Episode IV: A New Hope is one of the cheesiest, most poorly written movies of the 70s.

I'm not a Bioware fan. I thought Mass Effect had terrible combat and a boring story. I thought Jade Empire and KotOR were boring, easy games made for people that suck at video games. Dragon Age: Origins was alright until about halfway through the game when it became too easy, even on the hardest difficulty mode.

This game, however, is great fun. I love it. I'm gonna continue to play it. I have zero problems with any of it. The classes are all very diverse and fun, the environments are great to look at, the combat is fluid and responsive, the pvp is relatively balanced and very fun, the group content is creative and interesting, and none of it is boring.

    So yeah, you're wrong.

  3. Great enjoy your mass effect with coop thrown in. Too bad you gotta pay 15$/month for it. Other players in this other game you mention actually want to play an MMO. Swtor isn't a heavy contended by any means and will be a niche MMO that might go FP2 just like LOTRO.

Have you played Mass Effect? You do know that the defining, core element to a game like this is the combat system, right? Mass Effect? Seriously? This game is not at all like Mass Effect. It is much more of a WoW clone with Mass Effect style dialog. You can't see the forest for the trees. You are looking at the facade and assuming the interior is consistent with the facade. It's not, you're wrong.

  4. Corellia is #1 most boring by far.

The poll results are surprising to me. Nar Shaddaa and Taris are easily two of the most fun.

Edit: I see what's happening now. The OP really should've put Taris (Imperial), Taris (Republic), Balmorra (Imperial), and Balmorra (Republic) on the list. Taris for Republic has the best story of any zone in the game.

  5. Isn't Swiftsure one of the unofficial Oceanic servers?

I dunno what that even means. There's a lot of Australian players late at night but that's been the case for every WoW realm I've played on so it just seems natural to me. I get along with the Aussies so more power to them.

  6. So if there is a bug in the game that most people don't know about and only certain people are using it to gain a numerical advantage in a closed Warzone setting...you wouldn't call that an exploit? Interesting.

No, it's not an exploit because people aren't doing it on purpose. They queue up and they get in and they're an extra player but they did nothing special for this to happen.

It's not an exploit. Is this really that complicated? Then again, your orange text leads me to believe that you are merely another troll.

  7. Yeah I'm on The Swiftsure server right now. 320 people in this instance. There is another whole instance with 50 people.

370 people on the fleet. This game is dying! ;)

Yeah The Swiftsure is my realm. Hasn't slowed down yet. Still going very strong and people are very positive and enjoy the game in all the chats I partake in. Such a strong contrast to the doom and gloom you see on these boards.

  8. I don't understand this post. If I don't like a game, I don't "try" to like it. I don't play it.

I went into this game expecting a horrible game. To my surprise, it's a very passable and fun WoW clone. I'm enjoying it. I'm not a Bioware fan or an EA fan or a Star Wars fan. I hate all three of those.

I'm confused. Very confused. This is a very fun game and I'm not a fan of any aspect of its development. I'm not some deluded fanboy. I'm just a guy that likes to play games and has fun with them. If I hadn't had fun with this game, I'd have quit it and went back to WoW over a month ago.

  9. Why the hideous orange color text?

I read up to you saying that they had more than 8 players in a WZ and called that an exploit. One of the first WZs I did several weeks ago when this game was released? There were 16 Republic players in the Civil War FP.

I see this about once a day, maybe. There's something bugged with the FP queues. It's not an exploit. It's a bug. And it's not even that big of a deal.

  10. All these anti-LFG-tool folks who hype about community, who accuse pro LFD'ers of being lazy or complain about 'breaking' immersion should be made to gather 8 people up for a warzone and run to the fleet everytime they wish to PVP. Lets see how much PVP participation increases then ? I guarantee you it would fall by several orders of magnitude. Wanna bet ?

No auto-queues, match-making or magic transports for your PVP either since you want to work hard!!

You have a match-making system, auto-queueing and auto-transport for PVP. PVE better have the same parity considering that it is getting extremely difficult to find groups to run HM FP's at 50. Took me three hours yesterday to make a group to run Kaon under Siege. And we couldn't complete it cos folks ran out of time.

Frankly speaking, there are a truckload of folks in the game who confirm they are not finding PVE groups even on standard-to-heavy servers. Systems really need to be put in place to enable players to find each other with the same goals and complementary roles for PVE dungeons and heroic quests. Blizzard and Trion have both stated that group content participation increased significantly after inclusion of their LFD tools in warcraft/rift. Bioware needs to adopt actual, proven, working systems from other MMO's and stop listening to the blinkered views of a few vocal elitists who hate PUG's.

It's very, very easy to find groups for HM FPs at 50. Much easier than leveling flashpoints, which are already easy to find groups for.

  11. Why would you feel sorry for us Republic players? Last night, at about 3 AM server before bed I picked up a heroic quest in Hoth. I then immediately type "tank lfg <Heroic Quest>" and within 10 seconds, I had an invite. I accept it and my new party leader, a healer, types "LF 2 DPS <Heroic Quest>" and within 30 seconds we had our dps. We did the group quest and as we were heading out, someone said "do you guys wanna do <Heroic Quest 2>?" After sharing the quest, I said that I wanted to get a nearby Datacron so we do that, kill the champion guarding it, then head out and do our second group quest. As we finish up that quest, another party member says "hey there's an Area 4 nearby" so we go and do that as well.

My only complaint is that it's so easy to find groups that I don't get to bed in time and wake up tired. Remember, this started at 3 AM server and ended at 4 AM server.

Don't feel sorry for the Republic. We're doing fantastic. It takes me on average 5 minutes tops to find a group for a flashpoint or a heroic 4 quest.

  12. I watched it he had a "few" valid points but overall i found him to be very whingy & whiny. He came across as typical of his generation where I want it & I want it now, thats also in referance to corrections that we all know need to be made. I accept that balance as with fixes in the game will take time, time he obviously wasnt willing to put into the game. His reference that warcraft pvp was balanced made me laugh......frost mages anyone?

Frost mages aren't that strong, actually. Not sure why you would bring up frost mages as a proof that WoW was imbalanced? Frost mages are absolutely 100% balanced.

  13. In other words you have to go out of your way to run into the other faction in this game.

Not always. Basically think of the leveling zones as a series of tubes. There are deliberate areas where the tubes intersect, such as the castle in Alderaan. At those spots, it's hard to avoid world pvp.

In the areas where the tubes do not intersect, you do have to go out of your way to find Sith but you have to go out of your way to find anything because the game clearly wants you to progress down a certain path.
