  1. Join the Czerka team! Please fill out the following application and respond in this thread to be considered for the open positions listed here.

    CZ-198 Application

    1. Please tell us a little about yourself. Why do you want to be a part of the Czerka family?

I'm a motivated, driven, ambitious self starter who has recently returned to the sector after some time spent away, dealing with challenging interpersonal situations, diplomatic disagreements, and large scale territorial disputes in other sectors...for the highest bidders. I am a firm believer in "The victors write the history books". Also looking for good health benefits.

I believe my unique skills, grasp of complex corporate politics, and ability to work in tense and challenging environments would be of great benefit (and yield great profits) to Czerka.

    2. At Czerka, we pride ourselves on our accomplishments. Please name three of your accomplishments that you are most proud of. (Please do not include family milestones such as marriages or the birth of your children.)

    1) Successfully mediated (with considerable prejudice) a territorial dispute between a multi-race/multi-cultural alliance and an entity known as Zhaitan.

    2) Acted on behalf of a secret cabal, known as "The Illuminati", to further their interests and prevent invasion of their sector by a powerful outside interest known as "The Elder Gods". This was done with minimal visibility (as per employer specifications).

    3) Infiltrated large group, under cover, of territorial black and white bear-like creatures (referred to , indigenously, as "pandas") and, at the right time, turned on them (slaughtering many) in order to effect positive world change. Full disclosure: This was not done on contract....this was a personal milestone for me (accomplished while "on vacation"..sorta like those "great hunts".). I really, REALLY, hated those pandas...

    3. How did you go about achieving the accomplishments above. Would you say you would do "whatever it takes" for success?

Through considerable planning and, when necessary, blood shed. Some would say treachery (though that's a matter of perspective...and given I was successful, their perspective doesn't really matter, since they're likely dead). If you prefer "whatever it takes"...that's apt. So long as you're not really asking for the details of "whatever". You might not be able to handle the truth....and most employers prefer to maintain an essence of plausible deniability.

    4. Would you say you have a strong moral compass? Do you think this could get in the way of your job, should you be asked to do something...questionable?

My moral compass points squarely toward my wallet.....because nobodies morals ever paid to repair their weapons and armor.

    5. You are about to enjoy our wide variety of complimentary cocktails and snacks, when you notice that your esteemed colleague's newest experiment is likely to break out of their confines while you are gone. How would you handle this situation?

Depends. Are you paying me to keep my colleagues safe and productive? Is the experiment valuable to the company? Which of those two carries a higher priority? Is the experiment classified (as in, nobody sees it an lives)?

If so, I take those factors into account and do what you're paying me to do. I might even enjoy it a little.

Assuming none of the factors, above is pertinent and I'm left to my own devices:

I first ensure that I'm standing near the safest and furthest egress (because why shed blood...especially mine, if there are no credits to be made?) from where the fireworks will ensue.

Then I wait. And watch. Because if it's unstable and dangerous enough to cause significant damage at the reception, it's likely unstable and dangerous enough for, at some point, that someone will want to pay me to kill it. When that happens...it's good to know your enemies tactics, weaknesses, habits, and general fighting style.

When I've learned enough (or there appears to be imminent danger), I make my exit.....stage left.

  2. I think I just finished the DL (about a gig-ish). That is, unless there was a sizeable patch released yesterday in prep (client was current as of Tuesday evening).

Lets see if there's another "update" to it when the servers go live in a couple hours.

  3. Torhead also has the most recent version of the PTS notes posted, for posterity sake:

    http://www.torhead.com/patch/1.2

I agree, though. There should be a way to access the patch notes during maintenance, here on the SWTOR site. Either the most recent version of the PTS notes, or a "preview" version of the live notes.

Making the PTS notes inaccessible during maintenance seems a strange idea. I know they were able to be viewed, yesterday.

  4. As far as not getting credits they mail with the credits in it will come later.

    You're misunderstanding.

The email comes through saying the auction expired. There ARE credits attached. There is no item (and there is supposed to be).

This isn't about the "You've sold an item and you'll get your credits in an hour" email that goes out for quick selling items. I've gotten those and, simply by reading them, know what to expect.

This is about emails from the AH (and, apparently, players and missions) that SHOULD contain both credits and items....but show up with ONLY the credits (or don't show up at all).

  5. Actually I had no idea what people meant when they were saying AH. Why not call it a Marketplace?

Good thing I spelled it out in the title, eh?

As for why? Because in every other game, it's called an Auction house (AH).

So, when talking to a broad audience, I used the broadly known MMO term.

Again...let's leave the semantic discussions to another thread. Feel free to start it.

  6. ive sold over 350 items in the market. no problems in getting funds.

talk to guild members also, no ones been having trouble.

Funds seem to come through OK on sold items (at least, I think they are...unless the emails are getting swallowed whole and I'm not noticing).

It's expired auctions....the items don't seem to come through all the time. You'll get an email saying the auction has expired...it will have credits attached (a refund of your deposit), but no item. And as soon as you snag the credits, the email auto deletes.

In addition (and I'm sure related), some mission emails come through with credits...but not the items mentioned in the emails.

Other users have reported sending emails with items and credits attached to alts...and having them never arrive.

The last two, above, obviously have nothing to do with the AH/GTN, though.....

  7. If those of you having problems could ALSO post in the Customer Service thread that I linked in the first post, that would be great.

The more people they hear from, the quicker (I'd guess) they'll take action.

Again, until they confirm the bug is fixed....I'm not using the AH/GTN. Not worth potentially losing the items over.

  8. We're all playing SWtOR here. It's OK to use GTN. The lurkers that aren't playing can figure it out on their own if they don't understand. :jawa_tongue:

Then feel free to do just that.

And I'll use terminology I think most players will understand, for now, considering the infancy of the game.

Then we can get back to discussing, and informing folks, about the topic...and not semantics.

    Deal?

  9. Auction House? I'm sorry, are we playing pandaland again?

It's an economy of language that every MMO gamer will understand....rather than listing all the various institutions in SWTOR (Galactic Marketplace, Hutt Hub, and Imperial whatever).

Seriously, though...semantics?? Does it REALLY matter what we call it? Did you not understand, clearly, what was being talked about?

  10. Interesting, I've been selling a lot of items on the AH recently (Had about 20 items expire and mailed back to me lol) but not had any problem like this as of yet, fingers crossed!

Until yesterday, I was in the same boat. Had some mission emails with only creds (that mentioned items) and figured they'd just not finished itemizing yet. Come to find out...there WERE supposed to be items.

I've now had about 6 expired AH auctions that have returned only credits. Not sure if there were any "sold" items that disappeared into the ether or not....

  11. The mail system works fine as far as delivering credits is concerned- Ive had plenty from quests. The AH however- not many people using that on our server at least so hard to say for now.

    Here's the thing:

Many of those mission emails you're getting creds from...are also supposed to include items. Read the emails closely.

I've also had 2 or 3 mission emails that had creds...but not the items mentioned in the message.

  12. Am I complaining in any way, shape, or form, because they are hard to FIND? No, I don't think so. I'm complaining because some are barely reachable and some actually cost money to obtain. I have no problem w/ searching. I DO have a problem w/ spending 40 minutes trying to jump on a stupid beam. or spending money on opening a box, just so some other guy can swoop in and take advantage of said box being open without so much as a TY.
    '

Turn off sprint when trying to get to them....helps a ton.

Which two on Nar are you having a problem with?

  13. Just an FYI:

There is currently a bug in the mail system that is not delivering in game mail with items/credits attached OR is delivering the mail with the item stripped off them.

This can be quite a big deal, since I've had a half dozen expired items emails come back with no items (but the credit deposit refund) come back to me.

I'm going to refrain from using the AH til it's fixed....but wanted to get the word out and warn others so they don't lose cash/loot.

  14. I had 50k at level 25 and eagerly went to train my speeder riding. It was 40k. Hahahahahahahahahahaha, good joke BW.

Some guy said he had 100k at level 25 but I don't see how that's possible without assistance from Ching Chong Li Xiao and his "happy golds".

    IF I had:

    Not done any crafting.

Not had to buy much (if any) equipment (ie: found everything via heroics/flashpoints OR found super cheap deals on the AH).

Not had to repair from any deaths.

and ONLY had to buy my class skills

    OR

had a string of really good loot luck and got a bunch of desirable stuff that I could put up on the AH for exhorbitant prices (think OJ's and Grapes).

I'd probably have had close to 100k....maybe a bit more.

I guess it's possible, but not very likely without some guild help

  15. No.

Bootcamp is your friend (and INCLUDED with your Mac OS).

You'll have to buy a copy of Windows to install on the new partition, created by bootcamp.

Macs ARE gaming machines (because...basically, they now use the same hardware that PC's do).

Devs don't develop for it not because of the hardware, but because of the extra resources it takes to develop a mac only client and the return on investment for those resources. Basically, it's not worth it.

If you want to game on your Mac...learn about and use bootcamp. It will serve you well.

  16. jesus if this is the early access and im waiting 40 minutes to play what would happen at launch my god. this is such a fail on thier part. all the people saying oh this is just a peak hour and itll die down. the fact that they didnt learn from every other mmo launch to be able to prevent this is a laugh in its own right. strike 2 from bioware and ea. wonder how many no subs are gonna be out there if this is the track record from day 3 of the game.

Probably as many people as unsubbed from other popular MMO's where queing has occurred.

I mean: WOW became an absolute ghost town after launch, right? And after each of their expansions launched, too....

Truth is: They've got a lot of interest. The license alone brings in lots of folks..and the game is (IMHO) actually good.

SOE had similar issues (except their servers just blew up) with SWG. And the game was "not good" for weeks after launch (til they fixed the issues) and it still managed OK til they fubared it with their tinkering.
