  1. As a fellow Sorcerer, I understand what you're referring to. Gunslingers can actually hit MUCH HARDER than many Snipers, but this requires the long activation time shot to crit us with both guns - I'd say a fully champ geared GS hitting a champ geared Sorc with this will typically cause 4400 damage from the primary gun and 2800-3k with the secondary gun, but it's vital that you crit with that skill with both blasters. Furthermore, I've taken DoT damage (crit, of course) from a gunslinger for around 2.2k per tick, which is very impressive and rather annoying since it killed my Marauder (who had more than 50% health) after I killed the dang GS in a 1v1 and quite a few of their shots ignore parry/dodge/evade and are spammable (snipers have the same issue).

     

    BUT... are GS's Overpowered? No, and here's why:

     

    1.) their big damage results only when they connect and crit with both weapons, so they have to pump accuracy instead of simply stacking crit/power/surge/alacrity and YOU could actually try wearing some gear that has defense rating on it specifically to help counter this fact, but instead of trying something else, you simply consider them to be generally overpowered to the point of threatening to quit game.

     

    2.) Their big damage reducing cover skill has a cooldown, so if you stun or knockback, they're even squishier.

     

    3.) their knockback/root aoe skill is nice, but limited to fairly close range and easily avoided by a sorc.

     

    4.) They're pretty squishy even while in cover, particularly to internal damage, so feel free to use deathfield + DoT's and use LoS.

     

    5.) They're VERY squishy when not in cover to all forms of damage and unable to use some of their best attacks and any activated attacks out of cover can be interrupted.

     

    6.) They aren't overpowered just because they're one of the few classes that you seem to have trouble with; you're playing a highly adaptable class (which even as a fellow sorc. agree needs to be toned down a little bit in certain aspects since there are several hybrid variations which are definitely overpowered) - I suggest you learn new strategies/tactics to help with your issue or respec to different builds.

     

    7.) If your sister plays the game with her own account, she shouldn't have the same problem with them if she's a different class/spec/uses different mods or if she's simply wiser than you. Furthermore, she's a grown woman to have her own account, so you don't have the right to cancel her subscription for your tantrum of threatening to cancel both unless every class is easy for you to kill without having to actually use your brain efficiently.

     

    Adapt and overcome, man. Sorry for being harsh, but you should learn to control your frustration - you'll actually do better in pvp if you keep calm and your wits about you.

  2. Psh I remember this one times this gunslinger guy fastroped from a freighter ships and capped the right on alderan and i was like *** and he was like yo so i tried to stop him and he shots me in the face with his x5turbo.

    I have both lvl 50 sage and gunslinger and i'll tell you this man: you're playing it wrong is sniper is shooting you down just like that.

    Put a debuff ont he gunslinger every time he enters cover that makes him not move

    Encorporate a new system that makes people know that they are shooting you

    Nearly all of their moves are instant , makes some of them have cast times

    I think they need a dmgs reduction in the critical area

    See to it that if they crit one on one person they can't crit on another time for 10 seconds

  5. Instead of everyone trolling my fred and tellings that have people that don't know what they are saying. How about we just all come up to the point fo reality that these classes are too op and need to be adjusted back down to say the sorcs level. I mean to do my abilites i have to press alot of buttons and do things that are much more complicated than most classes except maybe bh that does the missile things.

     

     

    Nerf Gunslingers now. I like how all these gunslingers are all posting lik they are getting away with murderers.

  7. Operatives for example have multiple stuns in which their victim's can't move while they do damage to them, gunslingers can only push back, and most classes can still do damage.

     

    For those on the Bioware developer payroll, the OP was obviously joking.

     

     

     

    Gunslingers can kick you in the nads, that is more than a pushback

  8. Here is my thoughts on fixing the gunslinger so everyone can enjoy this pvp. Which is dying because of this reason. Loot at what you've done to star wars.

    2day I was in a wz. I am not exaggeration when I say that this gunslinger was doing better than my whole team. I swear if these guys don't fix this I am unsubbing my account and my sisters account. We love starwars and dragon ages and mass effet. but this, is, rediculus.

     

    They have high dmgs , dots, they can just sit there and kill you before you get to them and when you do they have 3 or 5 knockbacks and stuns and they can heal themselves. Everyone should be equal when playing these games agsint other players but this is rediculus. I mean, man. I got like 5 wz's with gunslingers flipping out and killing everything in sight. I try to cap the alderan and bam, shot in the head by gunslinger. I turn around to see what hit me like that and he just rolls away like a ninja and shoots at me through the walls.

     

    Fix this crap bw or i swear to god i'm unsubbing and your going to loose another paying customer who is good at ths game.

  11. Here's a good idea you should try too. This will be great!

     

    Instead of paying your developers in the local currency. You should totally pay them in Iraqi Dinars. That way when they finally get their paycheck, they can go through the hassle of finding an exchange that even accepts the dinars. So instead of having anything to show for their work, they'll have to go through another amazing adventure to try to exchange their paycheck for something they can use!!!

     

     

    Also, you should totally fill the streets on the way to the exchange with LAVA!!!!

  14. Shadows and Sentinels are both great classes.

     

    I can't comment on pve but in pvp Shadows have more utility with their stuns, knockbacks, taunts, guard, mez and stealth. In a group fight a shadow should actually be paired with a sent to harass backlines ( healers and ranged dps ). A shadow can effectively lockdown a healer while both burn them down. Infil Shadow's do great burst damage which causes major problems for healers as they can't just heal right through trivial sustained dps. You are creating a big health deficit on a single target and making the healer spend more resources to heal one person. The sentinel is there to apply a great amount of constant threatening damage. Paired together nothing will last very long against the two and neither class will take very much damage. If a target goes to the sent, taunt him off with your two taunts and use your cc. If a target focuses on the shadow tank it for a bit, then vanish into nothing while the sentinel builds his rage.

     

    Damage wise the sentinel has more sustained dps and less burst. Infil shadows have massive burst and less sustained and aoe damage. Balance shadows have both to a lesser degree.

     

    From my experience 1v1 a watchman sentinel vs an infil shadow goes pretty much like this.

     

    Shadow stealths, sentinel tries to unstealth ... shadow mezzes opens with spinning kick, starts his rotation ( 2x CV > trinket / adrenal > project > breach > shadow strikes on proc )

     

    Sentinel recovers casts rebuke and saber ward and resolute to try to absorb the massive burst. Starts his attack Zealous strike , overload, caut , strike x2 , merciless slash etc.

     

    Shadow saves cc break for choke ... if no choke or after he breaks choke he cleanses his dots and vanishes ... if the sent cannot unstealth he mezzes the sent , heals up while mezzed and before he can come out he goes back into stealth to reopen.

     

    Now at this point the shadow has his stun , his low slash , his saber defense and force potency should be off cd. He has a larger health pool and more tools, plus he chooses when to reopen with a full resource pool. Sentinel has pacify and if he's not stupid guarded by the force and camo. A smart shadow will take the opportunity to let the sent's rage go down and mez/reopen. When camo goes off , force sprint away and heal until the sent comes out. When guarded by the force goes up low slash and wait the 6 seconds out.

    Sent should be well in range for an execute after shadow reopens as long as he doesn't waste it on guarded by the force. If a Shadow controls the pace of the duel, he wins. If he doesn't know how to counter the sents cd's the sent wins easily. If a Shadow is stupid and tries to go blow for blow with a sentinel he will lose. If a sentinel cannot keep the shadow engaged he will lose. That's pretty much it.

     

     

    That's from my perspective. Of course there are many , many things that can differ.

    It boils down to this. Both are pretty skill intensive, both are great duelists. It really, really depends on your playstyle on what you enjoy. Good luck =)

  15. This thread should be quick and simple.

     

     

    You should seriously consider removing the random / luck based system of gearing pvp characters. Your current system leads me to believe that you are compensating for lack of content at endgame level by setting goals that are only attained through luck. This is a flawed train of logic because you are alienating your playerbase and frustrating your paying customers.

     

    The reward / effort should be equalized. There is absolutely no reason that one player can obtain a high end piece of gear with minimal effort ( two Battlemaster dailies ) while the next player can open your random bags all week and receive nothing. You are creating an unfair advantage that was obtained not through effort but luck. At the same time you have just created a divide between those two players and severely discouraged the other. Your system is unpredictable and unfair. If you want the gear to be hard to get. Make it hard to get for everyone, not just the unlucky.

     

    Standardize the gear cost throughout all tiers of pvp gear. Remove the stupid commendations and standardize your pvp currency. Remove all this garbage fluff and have these items cost a set amount of wz commendations. This will keep people in your warzones and keep them busy while you fix this game. You are losing customers due to your lack of insight and understanding of your own playerbase.

     

    IF you want to add a luck-based flavor make a bonus set of gear that has a low drop chance from the purchasable pvp stim boxes...

  16. It's not the amount of work that is garbage.

     

    It's the fact that it is a matter of luck if you have to work at all.

     

     

    Make it the same cost and amount of effort for everyone. There's no reason some dude can open two bm bags and get two coms while another person can open bm bags all week and get nothing. Which I have seen happen quite frequently. If you want to make the gear hard to get. Make it hard to get for everyone. This RNG system is just a scam to make up for lack of content. It also divides players and frustrates them because they are being alienated by this garbage system. Treat all players the same and make it so all players have the same standards to achieve. Leave that rng luck crap to pve.

     

    We don't need more whine threads ... unsub if you don't like it or go through the appropriate avenues to fix it. Personally, I don't agree with the stupid system and when I tire of it I will unsub and move on to something else. Not going to make a thread about it.
