  1. I prefer whichever option allows the game to run the full allotment of time, win or lose. I learn more, gain experience playing other players and have more fun.

    Points/experiences/comms are secondary.

  2. Interrupts aren't on the global cooldown, actually.

so the current animation is incorrect? I mean I'm not surprised, but in PvE I have been making it a habit of waiting for Distraction to pop out of GCD before using it on elites/champions.

I could be remembering wrong. will have to check tonight.

  3. Combat logs would expose the imbalances. So instead of seeing 3 classes that can heal, you would see mostly that one class that heals the best. Class favoritism is anathema to BioWare's stated mission, so I'm not holding my breath until after BW does class reviews.
  4. It's already in the works, y'all:

    http://www.swtor.com/blog/community-qa-feb-17th-2012

    - Crew skill mobile apps

    - Warzone changes including 14 new medals

GnovaD: Are there any plans to introduce mobile apps to the game? Eg. Use smart phone/tablet to send companions on missions while offline.

Damion Schubert: Let's just say that this has always been a dream of mine for crew skills - it's almost as if this design was created specifically with this in mind, doesn't it? Good news, sometimes dreams do come true! The bad news is that I have no ETA for you, though, as this is a significant technical endeavor.

  5. Blue Goo, specifically. Last night there was only Green and Red on GTN to compare with. A full stack of Red was going for 300k, so I threw Blue up there for 350k two nights ago for ***** and giggles. I know I sold something for over 300k last night but don't recall if it was another stack of Blue or a piece of armor.
  6. Anyone know of an updated resource site that lists market prices (more or less, not looking for exactitude here) for various materials?

I know prices vary per server and this may skew the mean, I'm just looking for rough guidance in pricing. This would be most helpful for when there are currently no other auctions on GTN to compare with.

May the salesforce be with you.

  7. So 12k damage total for a warzone was not a typo? Or did you mean to say 120k?

If the former, then is is your playstyle. In addition to the usual "stalk one person at a time, blow through relics/adrenals, combat sequence (hidden strike, corrosive dart, debilitate, backstab, shiv, etc etc), you should also be looking for opportunities to use your rifle.

You heard right. When someone is on a ledge and unaccessible to your melee attack, send a poison dart, shoot your regular rifle shot, and strafe left and right. This works supremely well at the very beginning of Huttball. I dart the opposing ball carrier and plink away from behind the acid pool. what helps a lot with this is having a purple rifle. I would invest in one, and just mash the regular attack while strafing left and right until it's safe to advance.

If 12k is your average total damage output, you don't need help, you need an intervention.

    edit:

Another thing you can do is stay alive longer. When a fight is going south, pop Evasion, Flashbang, and Cloaking Screen and hightail your way down into the pit to collect the speed boost then the health boost.

If people are mobbing your kills often, you are running with the pack, which isn't playing to the style of the Conceal op. Find the stragglers, those casting by themselves on the fringes of the group. Stay away from clustered players because some BH/Marksman is about to drop bombs.

Target one person at a time. As soon as they die, you can immediately restealth, which allows you immediate access to Hidden Strike (which is an instant). Bind Stealth to your R key making it easy to go in and out of stealth.

  8. The left and right flank doesn't change either. It's always on your left, respective on your right when you enter the battlefield.

You will pick up knitting and leave the pvp to people with a working sense of orientation.

    /bounty hunter voice

That would only be true if people faced one direction during the length of the battle.

You have to assume like you are playing with 3rd graders, and keep it simple. There's nothing more simple than using a reference point that doesn't change regardless of orientation. You could invert gravity and flip the maps onto their mirror images and "snow" would still be snow.

I tend to enjoy knitting. It gives me something to do while I'm guarding snow.

  9. It's EXTREME;Y obvious that if your IMp you call east/west, and if the turrets on Alderaan for republic correlate to elft anf right correctly you say 'left' and 'right'.

Stupid amercans, need to be so anal over thigsn when there is never any need to. Also shout alot in foreign countries to let everyone know exactly which country there are from, in case their is any misambiguation; such as not being able to play a game that needs directions to be pointed out.

The forcevoice is not working on this one.

    He may be an alien.

  10. In order, I give votes for: Healing, Tanking (if there is an obvious or concerted effort to tank by the player), then Objectives, Damage, then obscure stuff like Least Deaths. It never really gets past Damage though.
  11. You have to use a reference that doesn't change regardless of orientation.

Therefore left/right & east/west are inferior to snow/grass. Snow/grass doesn't change whether you are imp or rep, facing north or south, using mini-map or using big map.

    forcevoice

Listen to me now. Start using snow/grass.

  12. If you treat PvP as a grind, it will be very boring for you and will only reinforce the self-loathing.

If you just have fun with it, do your best, and play to your role and learn a little as you go while treating any rewards, credits, commendations, experience, etc as an unexpected surprise, you will enjoy it.

Again, if PvP is a grind to you, then it's not for you. No shame in trying something else that will feel more rewarding. This game has enough side-bars for everyone. Instead of becoming King Butt PvPer, you can:

    - corner the GTN in a specific market (or anticipated market ;-) )

    - become a popular/accomplished crafter

    - become a Socialite with all the rare Social gear

    - learn a new class; roll an alt

    - explore the maps/go datacron hunting

  13. Well, the bold part definitely sounds like an issue, perhaps with your latency? Generally when folks get dumped off, they just move along.

As far as the balloon itself goes -- I've seen someone elsewhere on the forums describe the issue as a "1 3/4 circuit". So, the balloon starts at the start point, goes successfully to the datacron crawler, comes back to the start point, goes most of the way to the datacrons and disappears. It then reappears at the start point and resumes its circuit. After having this happen, I'm wondering if it might be a "2 3/4" circuit, or put another way, as someone said above, the balloon dumps folks 1/3 of the time.

My friend and I had to dedicate a whole evening to this; he caught the balloon while I was doing other stuff AFK, then got one of the datacrons and missed the other. He met me at the start point, and we caught the balloon on its next go-round. It dumped us out. We walked back to the start, saw the balloon leaving by the time we got there, and waited again for it to do its full circuit. We caught the balloon when it returned and made it successfully to the 'crons that time.

So out of 4 circuits in a row, 1 of them was a drop. Anyone else have any multiple trips in a row to report on? ;P

Word for word, this happened to me exactly. I made the first trip, missed the jump-down data cron, went back a second time, balloon despawned before crawler, went back to launch point, balloon was already out of reach, waited for next one/danced with Republicans.

  14. SWG crafting was the best. Until the day the Holocron said "Bioengineering."

I just had no idea what I was doing but it was still sort of fun to poop out weird animals with ridiculous and lopsided stats. I tried for days to make a rabbit with the HP and strength of a Rancor and don't remember being particularly successful. I tried lots of times to improve upon original animals and never getting better results than the original.

  15. I do individual.

There were 2 times I got my epic proc on the first try REing the first item produced for Biochem.

This allowed me to stop producing the rest of the blues in queue.

I think REing a stack is bugged for the same reason. My first two purples were off single items. Did a stack of 10 and not only did it not proc, I got back a lot less materials than I thought I would.

I know anecdotal doesn't mean much, and lack of numbers less so, but the result went beyond the range of what I expected, enough to catch my attention. I will start keeping a log moving forward but for now, I'm staying away from REing stacks.

  16. At what level do the PvP dailies/weeklies become available? I'm having trouble finding any official/unofficial sources of information. All I know is that, at 16, I tried to use the terminal in the Combat section of the fleet and got a game message saying I wasn't ready or something like that. There was no quest symbol over the terminal either, I just kinda guessed at which one it was based on the number of people crowding it.

I know players can enter PvP at 10 or 11, but as far as getting the quests, you'd think this would be up on a FAQ somewhere.
