  1. They weren't inherently wrong. 2 million people definitely thought SWTOR had the potential to warrant a $15 monthly subscription. It's what they did (and didn't do) with their product afterwards which caused a strong decline in numbers.

There ya go. That's the facts, Jack!

  2. Supposedly, they say 40% quit the game due to sub fees.

Hilareous that they even take this statistic into consideration for making the game f2p. When someone quits the game they get the option to select the reason.

Notice when they get here, they have already decided to quit the game for some reason, which most likely is not that they are thinking about paying a sub, rather that they have decided to quit the game due to some reason of not having fun anymore... So, basically they have decided it is no fun no more, i'm gonna quit my sub so i don't pay anymore for this game since i am not going to play it.

Now they get faced with the options to quit, a lot of these players are going to think "i don't want to pay anymore since i am quittin" and they will select the subscription fee as the reason. Now these players (probably most of us) are quitting the game. If it is going to be f2p doesn't matter. We would quit anyways.

I HIGHLY disbelieve the 40% to even be near accurate...

F2P had absolutely ZERO to do with my cancellation. $15 isn't even enough to take the old lady to the movies.

  3. I would say it will show over that number. People who did 2 3 month and people who initially did 6months are good until August 18th. And I think that's a big number

I will say that number will be pretty close for their 3rd quarter though

This includes me, and my sub will be cancelled by then.

I am very disappointed in SWTOR.

    :(

  4. I'm just chiming in for a +1 here.

This game is dead. Maybe not completely dead, but at least on life support. The ONLY thing that is going to potentially fix it at this point is to merge realms together. There are a whole 21 people on my server in the Spacedock right now. I have a level 50 and I cannot find a group. I have been in two guilds at this point and both have withered away because there is nothing to keep players engaged. The endgame content is not enough to keep people around it seems. I am leveling an alt, but what is the point? Once they hit 50 there will be nothing to do.

If 1.3 does not introduce free character transfers so that we can move onto active servers, I am canceling my subscription. There is no point in paying $15 a month to log onto a dead server.

Forget new content. Forget lowbie content. Figure out how to handle the technical challenges of merging servers. Build the community up. 21 people on a holiday weekend is terrible.

I completely agree with Dave. My sub expires in mid August and unless I see some MAJOR changes in what is going on, I will not be re-subbing.

I should have known better than to get involved with anything that EA is running.

  5. Hey, does anyone else agree that SWTOR needs needs Rainbow Colour crystals. I mean, it would be the best colour everywhere. I have white now which is cool but the day I have a rainbow coloured lightsaber would make my Sith Jugg pure awesome.

Just to let you know, COLOR is spelt COLOUR in New Zealand

Colour is spelt colour everywhere except in America, they have an allergy to "U".

    Spelled?

  6. My point though was that without some show of good faith a LOT of people who leave.. well they aint coming back. Not just me , as I would check in now and again, but for a LOT of people, once done, done. And that would kill this game in infancy fairly well.

Would like to see a prospectus on how many active subs they NEED to survive, but doubt that will ever come out. And the random numbers people toss out dont help - if a small base was enough Tabula Rasa would still be online :p

    Blah, blah, blah!

  7. BW really needs to start incrementally adding in patch 1.2 and soon, or they may find themselves a bit short on players - many people did like myself, and bought a two month card to play, and it will run out.. way before the last of March and early April.

That being said, if theres no change by then, I am not about to put another two months cash while I wait - a wait that may or may not be broken by finding another game entirely. Others I am sure feel the same.

An incremental output would at least show they HAVE stuff completed, it wont interfere with anyones playtime - heck every Tuesday patch eh? It would also lower the amount of *surprise* "patches to fix the patch" that happens to every game with a major update.

Let's have a constructive discussion about this.

    Doom ... Gloom ...

    Sheesh.

  8. LOL If wow had a billion subs, 1 in seven people through out the world would be playing.

at $15 per month , that would give Blizzard a annual revenue of $180 Billion.

That puts it up there with the Massive Oil companies....

    Go Occupy something, willya?

  9. lol WOW.. overkill much!?!?.

you got ganked on a pve server boohoo, how is it honestly ruining your experience?!?!.. log off, or res @ med center or something.

There always has to be SOME element of danger, even on carebear servers. I mean.. this whole game is centered around 2 factions at war.

No, there doesn't! What part of Player versus ENVIRONMENT are you too stubborn (or stupid) to understand?

  10. They know it, we know it, the gaming community knows it. If they had any guts, they'd release the numbers now that everyone has had a chance to fully experience the game. Of course they won't because they'll be humiliating considering not but 3 weeks ago were bragging about this "surge" and their player population.

Stick a sock in it, please.

I did say please. As said by another poster, "Unsub and leave, if you don't like the game."

    :i_smile:

  11. Name an MMO where catching an enemy player in an AoE, even if you were targeting an enemy with it first, does not throw you into PvP mode. Go ahead.

    Rift.

That's just how it works. If they're flagged, anyone and anything can and will do damage to them. If you do damage to someone, you become flagged.

Doesn't have to be that way.

Take your arrogance and shove it where the sun don't shine. buddy.

  12. I don't care if we're standing nose to nose ingame. If we're not both voluntarily flagged, then there should be no chance of PvP between us at all. Period.

If I am not flagged, I should not be able to attack you. Period. I should be getting a "You are not flagged for PvP" message. No attacks from me should hit you. Period. You should be able to stand right in the middle of my AoE with no damage to you.So yes, the system needs to be changed.

I agree 100%. This is how most games work.

    Please fix it BW/EA!

  13. I killed the jedi and his padawan, now the game is asking me to talk to Thendys Noori. He/she isn't on the bridge where the marker is and i can't find any other levels above or below.

Great quest. I enjoyed it up to this point, but this sucks!

    :(

    Update

I boarded my ship and went to Dromund Kaas. Turned around and went back. Some of the mobs had respawned, but the quest was still completed to where I was to talk to Thendys. She was there and I was able to talk to her.

Finished the quest and got my legacy.

It seems that patience and trying different things works around the bugs.

Good luck everyone and don't give up.

    :p
