  1. There is a lot to like and I'm not bored per se, my issue is that I came from my beloved extended universe sandbox (Chilly by way of Lowca) to a WoW style themepark game. My biggest disappointment/surprise was that BW had not put in their usual level of attention to detail. MMO development is always work in progress, I just can't believe things like match to chest, same gender, GTN UI, hide companion helmet (just to name a few) didn't make launch. By the time the cool stuff listed in 1.2 and 1.3 make it out people will already have leveled and won't appreciate it as much.

If you aren't offering up massive depth then quality of life and fun factor have to be at 11 to keep folks from wandering.

I've played the trooper story and most of the imperial agent, but I'm probably gone by month 3.

I never connected with EVE for some reason, so I think I'm going to become a F2P tourist for a while (STO, LoTRO, DCUO, etc). They still won't scratch the old itch, but they're the same stuff as SWTOR and there are generally good groups to play with in every game.

  2. My original build was very similar, but in PvP I found that I rarely if ever switched back to plasma cell and was therefore wasting a lot of points. I thought that assault + ion was great until I switched to SS...my scoreboard damage stayed the same because I died a lot less and my kill numbers actually went up.

It is fun to have ion up and access to assault plastique though :)

  3. I suggest:

    1. Roll need for things YOU think you need. Feel free to reconsider what YOU think you need as you play the game.

    2. Roll greed for basically everything else.

    3. Roll pass for anything you don't want to be bothered with.

    Easy, peasy. yw.

I see where you left wiggle room in number 1, but need can be too subjective. I like the definitions here that have said "plan to equip". My SW wouldn't be the same without the orange Athiss Informant gear he wears, which came with agent mods.

Green, blue and purple class specific though should definitely not be need.

  4. This is a huge quality of life issue that sucks a lot of fun out of questing.

Please, please show us what the quest rewards will be in the mission window or when accepting a mission. I have spent hours running green or gray quests trying to complete a matching planetary set or get one specific item only to find it is on another planet or has been removed since beta.

Knowing ahead of time if a quest reward is an orange custom item, a set piece or just commendations and a box would help me to better plan my nights and would maximize the fun factor.

Additionally the ability to upgrade planetary tokens would really up the fun factor too. I have 33 Talus commendations that I will never use, but would love to trade for Nar Shadda tokens.

Right now I'm on the fence about staying and to me stuff like this makes all the difference in the world.

  5. If the option existed to go back to the old UI cool down scheme, I would take it in a heartbeat.

I don't have a massive monitor, so the final seconds when the line is near/under the border lead to a lot of ineffective clicks/presses.

It's great if some people like the new way, but I would change back instantly if I could.

  6. Getting gear is fun. Arbitrarily padding the time it takes to get gear is stupid.

You grow out of the level 20 and 40 blue gear within a few levels. Before I would get the full sets to match after saving up. Now I'm only going to end up getting the oranges because I'll have leveled past the blues by the time I can afford them.

Less gear, less fun, less incentive to participate in PvP. If the game was ONLY PvP then sure, but between space, flashpoints and class/planetary I only play 2-4 WZ per level.

  7. It seems kinda murky, even the thread that kinda went violitile that was closed they just repeated the statement which seems vauge if they mean that they're making new companions that are same sex or turning some bi.

I totally agree about Kaliyo. Like on one mission she went "Aww, he's cute, don't you think?" and when I said "he's not my type" i gained affection with her 0_o so it seems suggestive but that's all it seems to be for the moment, just suggestive.

Edit: for option I pick/hope for 2a. As I stated above, Kaliyo does seem to lean both ways and from the glint into her gritty past I can imagine if she had past relationships on both sides of the playing field, so to speak.

I really think Kaliyo as a SS option was in the game or being worked on actively and got cut. A bunch of her chatter is either flirty or calls you babe.

I will reroll my 35 IA if she is eventually added; luckily that story is good enough to go through twice.

  8. I've said it before in other threads, but for me Kaliyo is the only romance option that seems right for a grey/darkish female cypher nine. I don't see that character as likely to pursue any of the other options and I'm actually holding that character until the option is either available or confirmed as dismissed by the devs.

As someone said in another recent thread the team that works on this is almost certainly different that the UI and core systems teams so it won't take time away from bug fixing efforts. Also in many cases (at least the 3 classes I have tried) it really shouldn't take a ton of extra studio time to add this option to existing companions.

For me this is up there with chat bubbles, increased mount speed and re-adding beta armor as content additions I'd like to see in the near future.

  9. This is a valid question since SWTOR is supposed to be driven by story and choices and because this has been an option is all recent Bioware games. In fact some of the only decent press DA2 got was in standing up for their inclusion.

As a grey/darkish female imperial agent Kaliyo is pretty much the only relationship that it makes sense for that character to pursue.

  10. I really hope they never implement chat bubbles.

It would look WAY too goofy for this game.

No. I'd much prefer to have chat bubbles with the option for folks like you who don't like them to turn them off and view "say" dialogue in the general window. It's really great for casual RP and in instances party chat can sometimes zoom past if general and guild chat are moving quickly.

There are a number of quality of life improvements that I want to see and this is high up on the list.
