  1. They must protect the republic, so most of the normal clones obey it without any issues, the thing is if High command tell them the Jedi are attempting a coup they dont have time to go check if its true, orders are orders, most normal clones obeyed but some with more independent and better view of the Jedi (like a few commandos and "Sons" of Skirata) didnt go through with the plan.

The orders are flash memory added to them in their "childhood" and are contingency in-case of coup, like for example Order 65: "In the event of either (i) a majority in the Senate declaring the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) to be unfit to issue orders, or (ii) the Security Council declaring him or her to be unfit to issue orders, and an authenticated order being received by the GAR, commanders shall be authorized to detain the Supreme Commander, with lethal force if necessary, and command of the GAR shall fall to the acting Chancellor until a successor is appointed or alternative authority identified as outlined in Section 6 (iv)."

    or

Order 66: "In the event of Jedi officers acting against the interests of the Republic, and after receiving specific orders verified as coming directly from the Supreme Commander (Chancellor), GAR commanders will remove those officers by lethal force, and command of the GAR will revert to the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) until a new command structure is established."

  2. It is nowhere near being on "life support" as some speculate.

"Speculate is a big word, since its true they are on Life support, the amount of recycling they have been doing over the last 10 month is blatantly awful and the rest is pumped into cartel packs, but at the same time their profits keep going up because of the cartel market so they don't care much about their minor incomes ; the subscribers.

The game need more than just dailies, an Operation / Warzone once in a while, if you keep your player active and always have something to do (mini-games, new way to play the game, new story, etc.) they will stay but if you just give them dailies every 6 months your fanbase will diminish to near nothing in no time.

The market is very competitive, will get worse with ESO release coming "soonish" and if they announce they go the B2P way that GW2 (which got content patches every 2 weeks :o) used they will steal a lot of the current playerbase, trust me.

I wont even get on class balance in pve...

I read early on (pre-launch) that all the major VO talent signed a contract that included future content. It's unclear how much and how long that contract was, but I would hope they had it for several years / several expansions and not just content they had in the pipeline. This is certainly believable especially when you think about how hyped SWTOR was pre-launch and how overly optimistic Bioware was about a lot of things in the game.

My true hope is that SSSP is going to be launched as part of the first real expansion mirror the first major expansion in SWG. Things in expansion:

    - Multiple planets (more than 1, less than 5)

    - New level cap (5 - 10 more level)

    - Increase cap to companion expansion, new conversations (including SGR for comps)

    - New Legacy Level cap

    - New Valor Level cap

    - New Class quests (doubtful, but what I want to see, more likely New Faction/Planet quests like Makeb)

    - New SSSP

    - New OPs/FPs/WZs

This is something we'd probably not see for another year or so though, especially if they are just recording VOs now).

I wish that was true but my hope got squashed back in May. :(

  3. Are you a TOR insider getting the latest scoop? How do you know all of this? With a simple google I found nothing hinting at this. This is just doomsaying and speculation at best. Revenue is up, not down. Again with the speculations, a simple google will show you earnings for the quarter.

If you are so upset with the direction of the game then you can leave quietly.

    http://www.torhead.com/guide/leak-1.3

Read completely what i said their revenue has been up since they went f2p but they are still on the same life support team from last May-June.

If you are not happy with my opinions you can leave quietly, i will not be silenced.

  4. This is a direct quote from the last time there was layoffs at BW Austin, which occurred in July 2012 btw.

So that is hardly an excuse. Especially since revenue has, by their count, doubled (at least) since then.

Sorry to tell you but everything added so far was supposed to be released a long time ago, they just stretched content over months to milk us to hell.

Titan of Industries was supposed to be out with 1.3 with Terror from Beyond.

Almost everything we have been getting has been completed in the past and hold off, sadly.

Never get the industries, Downsize team due to bad revenue, 6 months later revenue goes up to extremely good but team still stay the Downsize version, why? This game need a complete team of programmers just to sit down and work on the engine instead of just plugging half working stuff in there.

  5. People are so silly. Bioware has been downsized, and they can't dedicate the entire development team to the SSSP, it's probably a very small team while the rest are working on the normal ops, daily, fps, etc content. So of course progress is going to be slow, and it's a pretty huge undertaking to begin with. They've always said not to expect it within the year.

8 man team with 1 on it part time during low activity day.

At this speed we might see it when im back in 2018, just at the same time they fix the engine, make class equal in pve and decide to really reward their subscribers.

  6. The goal of the program is to allow a chance for each Representative to start a dialog about what is considered their classes top 3 issues with developers. I know sometimes Classes can feel ignored and this will allow a very direct dialog.

That way you can stop ignoring the dialogue some class been trying to have with Bioware, almost a year ago?

    Too little, too late.

  7. I don't think the coding matters. What matters is that F2P is going to have restrictions and those restrictions are going to encourage subscription or purchases in the CM as well as have some protections against those who would use F2P accounts for nefarious ends.

Personally, I think F2P is too easy. I don't think F2P should be able to buy unlocks on the GTN and should instead be forced to buy them through CC themselves. This is, of course, just my opinion as I see F2P as a pimple on the backside of MMO's. It might make MMO's more successful but it also appears to remove some of the pressure on MMO makers to actually make a good game that draws players in and keeps them.

IMO, F2P is a crutch for developers.

The irony is that i find the restriction not too bad enough for me to still pay a sub, not to mention no content that i got with my sub since... well.. 1.7? (i dont count recycled content as content, sorry) No class balance except every 6-9 months, F2P restriction arent that bad when you look at it, doesnt mean i will play tho, nothing to keep my attention on the game anymore.

  8. November?! Seriously Eric? You can't peel more than one person away to speed this up!?

ROFL, after that people ask me why im retiring from the game...

Powertech and SIn should be first on that list. Not to say the class representative is heavy pvp only and will fail to support pve issue about class.

  9. As of today's nerf, this fight can be done with multiple deaths, sub-optimal composition and our healers actually said 'I had nothing to do so I threw dots'..because everyone was full health (this may have been during Ciphas which I'm pretty sure was always the least healing intensive).

It's now at the point that I think Hard Mode 'should' be.

The issue was always dps imbalance, instead they took the easy way out and nerfed the fight, but the same issue can come back next tier, which i expect to be.

  10. This system really wont work, we would need 6 players per class to really have an opinion of each specs (Darkness, Deception and madness) and of both aspect of the game (pve and pvp).

I expect the representing player to ignore aspect of the class in any form, mark my words, not to say its a lazy way for Bioware (more EA) to not hire a team of class researchers and have it done for free.

Anyway, my vote goes to Sulvira, he knows what hes doing.

  11. The Lucasarts office still hold the right to say no to any project that they deemed not worthy of the SW ip or against their mother company ideal.

Even if the Lucasarts studio has closed down they still exist to check licensed games.

  12. The thing is, EA doesnt understand they need to reinvent in a game after goes back to the profit needed instead of just milking it until it dies.

The dev team need to grow if they want to stay competitive on this market.

Happy subscribers = profit and more recruiting.

  13. Because the intense illogicals of firing a blaster underwater or using any sword (normal or lightsaber) underwater is not worth the gain (what would the gain be anyway?).

Force lighting and telekinetic skills wouldn't work. The whole combat would be dmapened by the medium water... and most people agree, that the combat in SWTOR is already slow enough and doesn't need to be slowed down any further.

If however you are talking about just venturing underwater and then fighting in dry caverns or installations underwater, then it is nothing but a fancy scenery and fine.

Modified blasters can be used underwater, most lightsaber work underwater.

Combat would be slower, yes, but its still logical in the sw universe.

A few battle come to mind:

Battle of Mon Calamari (Clone Wars)

Battle of Mon Calamari (Civil war)

Battle of Mon Calamari (Yuuzhan vong invasion)

    Genocide on Dac (Legacy Era)

  14. Database been semi-dead for a year now, most of the stuff added recently were data-mined back during 1.2 PTS.

Torhead is probably the worst they want me to sub to their network, yet they jumped from 1.4 to 1.7 without adding anything, 4-5 month without any update.

Probably because GW2 updates their game 3x as often.

4x actually (they moved to a 2 week patch cycle ) + daily (or 3 daily bug fixes, which only need a game restart and they tell you its gonna happen an hour or 2 before), the fact thats it pay once and you get more stuff out of it than a subscription should give you an idea how bad this game has become.

    (Potential = 110%)+(Greed = 110%)= (Content and update = 10%)

  15. BW, I know you dont support add-on's, but please take up TorParse. This is one of the best parse tools around (in my opinion). Hell, its called "TOR"parse for a reason. That guy loved your game so much he created a log calculator then a downloadable program that is solely dedicated to SWTOR. I am asking, please think about it before its too late.

You actually think they would save Torparse? That's like expecting them to reinvest into the game (like lets say pay a team of class researcher instead of having player representative doing the job free finding issues for them)

  16. I would hire a team of Dev to create stuff and stop using content that was made last year.

Invest in the game again, stop milking it.

-Their team of 6 is starting to run out of content to reuse now..

-A new team of coders for the engine.

-more than 1 dev per 3 class to decide about class changes. (biased dev are biased)

-More artist to fix the current in-game art issues on item for ALL species.

-The dev need to communicate more with Eric and others.

-Move toward a Living world, less toward a themepark without content after a week.
