  1. Let's start an "AFK Hit List" thread and start making a list of guilty players. If nothing else, we can make em feel sorta silly ;-) I would certainly contribute names as they are encountered.

    I do agree - you can't fix this, and the AFK'rs should go back to WoW.

  2. The Hutts are neutral both sides Republic and the Empire are always courting the Hutts. IT makes alot of sense in the world honestly. Its an entertainment death sport thats void of party of lines because its in a neutral territory. Want to win a hutt's favor? Join Huttball and show them what your Jedi is made of. Not sure how your toon kinda doesn't get that he must be a terrible Jedi.

    Where other than your well thought statement does this enter the storyline? (and why you need to attack me is just some insight into your Jedi qualities).

    Good Hunting,

  3. Huttball is a great game when you have players that know how to play. When you don't...well it's horrible. I'd love to see organized Huttball, player put together teams that play seasons against eachother.

    Ya know - I actually agree - it's like training for more complex pvp to come. I just can't get my head around it as having anything to do with why my character exists - which leads to frustration over being forced to play it, or abandon my spot in the queue and leave fellow pubs hanging (not my style).

  4. I don't give a damn how experienced you are. I've been PvPing since UO. What's your point?

    ooo hot button - why you are an excitable one aren't you. My point is the comments about being attacked by 5 people and such being a no win scenario are within my thought process when I make this suggestion - and I didn't even need to pick someone apart to make myself feel superior.

    and I don't give a damn that you don't give a damn....so there! ;-)

    Good Hunting,

    Ell

    ps - I started gaming on Apple II to give you an indication of my experience, and perhaps age. UO...that was good sheet back in the day.

  5. Gotta love this thread....

    So, I am a Jedi on a quest to rid the galaxy of evil. Somehow I know deep inside that Huttball of course helps me on this galactic quest...I just don't know why....and I don't have a choice anyway, so I play the game (with great disdain).

    It's a nice game, good teamwork involvement, and all that. It however has absolutely nothing to do with the imperative of ANY of my toons (or anyone else toons in my opinion).

    Take the mechanics and the flow of Huttball, and change it something that fits the lore and immersion - like CTF for example - that at least feels like a potenitally realistic scenario in context of my toons imperative. If not that - then add some storyline like you've been capture by the hutts and they are making you play - at least that I fit into my puny thought process as a likely scenario. ;-)

    OR - PLEASE - Let ME decided whether or not I want to play the game (and the answer will be no - never again).

    Good Hunting,

    Ell

    ps - I admit the better I get at it, the more fun it is, but really - it has no place in 'my' adventure. I know that statement applies to far more players than myself.

  6. Hello All,

    I'll start by saying I am fan and I understand the landscape is still developing...with that on to the issue:

    The amount of CC in this game is excessive to the point of being unfun. A simple solution (tried and true as most devs would know), is to apply diminishing returns to subsequent CC attempts within 45 or 60 seconds of a previous CC attack.

    Case in point - if there are enough opponents with CC off CD, you can literally be CC'd from start to finish and never have a chance strike back. I am sorry to say it, but this is absurd and imho a sign of immaturity in the development of combat mechanics.

    Again - I am a fan - please keep me one and address this with either your rationale for lack of diminishing returns, or, an acknowledgement that this will be addressed in the future patch.

    Good Hunting,

    Ell

    ps - I am sorry if there is another thread on this....I did not see one....

  7. Hello All,

    I went from complete and utter nonsense to a smooth experience by doing the following:

    ===#1 - Modified client_settings.ini to look like this:

    [Renderer]

    D3DFullScreen = true

    Height = 1050

    NativeHeight = 1050

    NativeWidth = 1680

    TextureAnisotropy = 1

    Width = 1400

    WindowX = 0

    WindowY = 0

    MeshLODQuality = 0

    VerticalSyncState = false

    EnableBloom = false

    TextureQuality = 1

    UseMinSpecShaders = false

    doShadows = false

    PlantDensity = 1

    AntiAliasingLevel = 8

    [Game]

    MoviesFolder = ..\..\Movies

    SwtorRegKey = SOFTWARE\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic

    ===#2 - Set Node Interleave to Auto (BIOS Advanced Memory options)

    ===#3 - I noticed a ton of disk reads at all manner of odd times, so I move the app from relatively slow SATA drives to absurdly fast SSD drives (striped pair). I am sure installing the game on any really fast HDD/SSD will help.

    ===#4 - Run game graphics at low quality during Warzone PvP (which really isn't)

    I do not have a hugely fancy system - Tyan 2915 w/2xAMD 2212 Dual Core Cpu's, 16gb of pc 5300 mem, and a recent add GEFORCE GTX 560 ti.

    Note that there was also some setting to make sure the GPU does certain work instead of the CPU's, but i forget what it was.

    Anyway - all the instanced PvP was rather glorious without lag/weird fps....hope this helps others...

    Good Hunting,

    Ell

  8. One simple request to the devs - since you won't give us a nod here, how about letting us decide which warzones we want to play...Voidstar is the only one that is remotely playable most of the time, but it seems I get sent to alderlag 9 out of 10 times....pretty pretty pretty please with some force on top - let us decide what we want to play (Warzones) instead of this 'you must play all the content user - it is our will' crap.

    Good Hunting,

    Ell
