i'm just confused as to why people are comparing a 5+ year MMO to one that is barely 2 months old now. Maybe I just don't get it. I love tor for what it is and continue to play it because I enjoy the game and it's features.
Take it for what it is, not what other games should make it.
don't worry. there are a "couple" threads out there explaining why the comparison is valid.

I love the responses that didn't detect Xcore's sarcasm.
In public forums you never know. It could be sarcasm, it could be not. Of course it is Xcore, so I do know.
Whatever, this is what I call trolling. Nicely done.

Should rename the Q&A to "Political answers to safe questions"
Sadly, this was to be expected.
I wonder if their safe and defensive posture is going do be successful on the long run.
-
uh what? you're still wrong
what the hell is going on here?
http://www.math.utah.edu/~thiriot/Math1040/notes/probability_notes.html
search for "The At Least Once Rule"

the chance to get 1 token after four tries is... wait for it... 25%. it doesn't change just because you didn't get it the first 3 times. learn to statistics
did i say "at least"? yes i did. who has to learn stochastic (or learn to read)?
-
25% means that if I open a bag 4 times, there is a 100% chance that my 4th bag has a 100% chance of dropping a commendation. You guys are all bad at math and the game is bugged.
the chance to get at least one token after 4 tries is 1-(1-0.25)^4=0,68
[e]assuming that this was not trolling. [/e]

...When you use the force to open automatic sliding doors.
this ultimate sliding-door-power has nothing to do with swtor!

Logically speaking, fun is not quantifiable.

Aww, they closed my Patch Night Theatre thread! Party poopers! Oh well. C'mon, someone at Bioware had to think it was funny.
This thread was one of the reasons why I still visit public forums. One tiny thread that just makes you smile.
I thought it was sarcastic, the moderator thought it was insulting. Whatever.

probably "heavily modified" to the point it loses some of its features.
- removed feature to stream content to client
- added space battles

Visitor 2: One of your rides is broken.
Visitor 1: No, no, no, it's not broken! Im a fan, so I know how things work around here. That was actually ment to happen.
Bioware Employee: We already know about this and we will fix it! Rest assured.
Visitor 3: How long will it take to fix this? We can't use it this way!
Bioware Employee: We are discussing this matter right now, we can't give you a concrete date however, but we are putting a lot of resources in it.
Visitor 1: Ehh, that's fine. I'll go do something else.
Visitor 2: Aww! Didn't this park close down yesterday?
Visitor 3: Hey, wasn't that ride supposed to be fixed three weeks ago?
Bioware Employee: Yes, we know it's taking a little bit longer. We are constantly maintaining and enhancing all other rides to ensure the best quality possible. The faulty ride is another matter. This happens when a customer is too heavy to use it and the ride was not designed to support fat people, however they are only a small minority. But we are working on it.
Visitor 3: Oh well! No worries! Ill just go back to that other thempark! It was more fun anyway
Unfortunately, the script had to be changed to be able to go live at the theater.

Where is the statement Stephen Reid promised us on how they plan to improve EU maintenance times? A lot of blah blah blah it seems.
They only assured us that they would discuss this issue in the coming weeks. They did not say that they will change anything.
Of course this was expected. All of their information has to go through their beautiful PR filter before it goes public.

True.
And it's possible one side stole the plans from the other. Like, did you know Russia has a space shuttle exactly like NASA's. I mean 100% identical- if it wasn't for the Russian writing on the side you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
100% identical. right.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buran_program#Comparison_to_NASA_Space_Shuttle
"Despite remarkable external similarities, many key differences existed, which suggests that, had espionage been a factor in Buran's development, it would likely have been in the form of external photography or early airframe designs."

its not a big gap at all just less ablities.
and smaller developed skill tree, ****** gear, maybe less experience in PvP.

People either don't understand what CC is (often even after you explain it to them), do and decide they are so kick butt that it doesn't matter, or are too impatient to wait for you to mark targets before running in all gung ho rambo style.
I wasted so much time by explaining basic mechanics to people, but while I'm doing that, someone will just randomly pull one or more groups without the team being ready, without any cc's, without target order,... it's frustrating.
Of course there is some time needed to explain/read this stuff, but people are just impatient. They don't want to know such BS.

It may look fruity, but sages throw the Pebbles for the Bam Bam. I am totally cereal about this.
Yea, throw strawberries and walnuts at your enemies, ****load of DPS man!

This ^
Nar Shadaa & Hutta drove me up the wall. Don't need that frustration.
Sometimes jump works great when I move + jump. Othertimes it works by doing it the opposite. Have found no consistency w/the jumping what so ever. If it was, I could train myself to do it 1 way.
I hate precision jumping in games which were not really designed to perform these jumps. There is a reason why good plattformers have extremly tight controls. Try plattformers with sluggish movement.
-
Yeah the jumping on this game seems a bit...off.
For example, on the Esseles Flashpoint there's a point where you need to jump down, using the pipes along the way to keep from dying from the fall. When jumping from pipe to pipe sometimes it makes you properly jump forward to land on the next one, and sometimes you simply fall right off the edge even though you did jump. Not sure if it's a server lag thing or something funny with the jumping.
The pre-jump animation takes some time to perform, so if you run and press jump, then you won't jump immediately after hitting the spacebar.

Which defintion of troll are you using?
"Your oppinion differs from my own oppinion and that makes me angry, therefore your only reason to post is to make other people angry - you are a troll."
I really hate that overused word.

If you don't want people to do "/signed" there's an easy fix. Make us able to subscribe to threads without having to post something! We like to keep track of important threads, you know.
What do you expect from their web-team that thinks an old version of vBulletin is a perfectly appropriate forum?
I did not want to contribute to this discussion btw, I just wanted to subscribe.
-
It makes perfect sens.
With combat log people would have hard evidence of class dissbalance, abilities not fireing properly, bugs like raid bosses killing party members out of instances etc.
Without combat log we can only asume all those thing but we have no evidance to show up.
Ignorance is bliss.
That's and interesting aspect. The worst thing is that I am not surprised about this kind of "cover up", because I'm getting used to it.
-
Negative.
The code is not invalidated by a wrong logon attempt.
EA chose not to do that.
Once I had caps lock on and tried to log on a couple of times (5 or 6) with the very same code. After clearing the password and typing it in correctly I could log on fine - still with the first code generated.
Wow. You enter the valid authenticator code and an invalid password and the authenticator code is still valid after that? That's a problem.
-
Nope you got keylogged.. Info sent and input immediately to log into your account. Code is good for a good many seconds.
Nope, a valid code will be invalidated, once entered. Of course the whole system would be pointless, if you can use a keylogger to circumvent the authenticator.
Who is designing the gear?....I mean come on

I like the Sage PvP gear. It actually makes sense! They resolved the mirror-class imbalances by giving us a lightning rod.
[e]And please tell me the sexy Sage PvE gear is the female only outfit.[/e]
