  1. Hi everyone,

     

    I was really excited when I heard that there will be new schematics for +41 color crystals. I've always wanted a green one but @ 1.1.5 all the green ones I could buy had useless stats for me (im a Sith Assassin Tank, so i need endurance).

     

    As I already said, im on empire side. Is there a way to acquire such schematic and how?

  2. Lol Im almost at Dark V and 9k affection with Ashara, im picking mostly Dark Side options (or just neutral while not taking the "mindless sociopath" actions) and she likes most of them. The only times I have difficulties picking a good answer is because the actual thing I say has nothing to do with the 'previewed' version of it.

     

    Ashara is my apprentice and my booty call option atm, why would I complain :D

  3. I am confirming this. I changed to a 31/0/10 tanking build almost 2 weeks ago but this just kills the darkness/madness hybrid which is quite fun for leveling. I really want to know who is responsible for the talents in this game, they are simply terrible. I have to invest several points into useless ones in order to reach a higher tier, there is basically no variety in the builds (there is 1 optimal for tanking, everything else is terrible right now).

     

    Really, Bioware? Retarded. Warn me if you wish but this is the sad truth.

  4. Apparently, Bioware found the time to delete my post and warn me (ok i went too far with it) but they cant really answer here :|

     

    I usually dont care about graphics / visuals at all and I love /re-/playing older games but the thing we have here is false advertising and nothing more. They have a mediocre engine in use (the facial emotions are decent) and the textures are just terrible. Normally, I would say to myself that it doesnt matter that much.

     

    But how the hell did these textures work on medium class rigs in the beta? I upgraded my pc less than a month ago and it really pains me to see that such a game looks just ... terrible. Its not about the visuals of a game being important or not. We are talking about bad management, lying to your community and the people that are currently paying you for this game.

     

    This is wrong on so many levels.

  5. Update

     

    Hey, just wanted to give another update. I actually was able to spend some time on it today and the video is looking good. I'm trying to make it a little fun and exciting too through the intro as well as let my creativity go a bit with the editing.

     

    In any case, we're getting there and I'm excited to release it soon. It will be my "homage" to this entire issue and 6 Thread Topic. I am hoping to release a "preview' asap if anyone is interested as well as Sequence/Content Draft.

     

     

    I do take this very seriously still and the amount of support this has garnered really does show the absolute importance that should be placed on studying it as well as make it a key focus for development in an MMO.

     

    I think developers have forgotten the "Gameplay" aspect of creating their game as they were blinded by WoW's "Features" (Which essentially are meaningless to actual gamers). Features can be implemented over time, core gameplay flaws leave a bad taste...

     

     

     

    P.S.: Still reading every post in this thread as well as the Sticky Note on this subject! Until this has been resolved or my faith in Bioware has been shattered, I'll be on this :)

  6. Hoping for a fix soon :) and rating the thread. I really dont like the sluggish feel of the game. Im used to clicking on my hotkeys without looking at the action bars (except when I need to check for the CD on an ability), in SWTOR I never know if I have started/finished casting something or not. This is extremely annoying especially when healing. The other day I was doing some kolto action for a heroic quest on my operative and it felt terrible.

    This is with 60fps (stable under load / on imperial fleet too) and 60-80ms latency.

  8. If they are going to have to redesign the UI it will take time and I really doubt we will see any changes in that area for many months.

     

    Sadly, some spec's are barely playable with the current UI. Proc-based Sith Assassin tank (Darkness/Madness hybrid) is just pure pain and staring at the buff bar (we need some better notifications when certain abilities/talents proc). Target of target is badly needed. DoT DPS classes need their dot timers(there is no way to diferentiate your dots from the ones of other members of the same class).

     

    I dont want Deadly Boss Mods SWTOR-Edition, I want a better representation of the currently available information.

     

    Damage/Heal meters would help raid/guild leaders find the weak link in their raiding group. Slackers gonna slack.

  9. The armor looks fugly as heck, but also (at least for assassins) has HORRID stats (why so much power?) and a crappy 2 set bonus by comparison to other classes.

     

    All around ****** and a big dissappointment, the worst is being the min-maxer I am... I am forced to wear it or take a hit in stats.

    I hit an instant cast force heal or static shield but it isn't instant at all because my guy feels like doing the macarena before he sets it up and suddenly the tank is dead.

     

    This is so damn true. I really hate this delay and to everyone that says "M8 there is no delay whatsoever" .. well, I honestly dont know how to respond to that. It is either a player that isnt really focused while playing (I dont want to say 'bad player') or he's playing the "wrong" class. By wrong I mean a class that isnt so animations-heavy. I feel the delay even on my sith assassin and there are other classes /especially the republic mirror class of the sith sorcerer/ that have some huge issues when it comes to using instant cast / animation-intensive abilities. Instant cast is "I press button A, ability X goes off INSTANTLY". If an ability was meant to have a delay before the effect is applied, it should have some casting time.

     

     

    And I hate wow with passion, I dont even want to touch it with a stick. This argument is invalid.

    This is also a false dichotomy: "Only bad players dislike addons."

    They are tools and they have their purposes. I don't think the benefit of these tools outweights

    the negative or abrasive mentality that comes with these tools or the lack thereof.

     

    Combat logs, modifiable UI(change positions and sizes of UI elements), and 'target of target' are the only tools that I would be happy to see.

     

    ABSOLUTELY NO THIRD PARTY software !

     

     

     

    Add procs to the flytext and i would be happy with that. Oh and proper debuff icons on the raid frames (so healers can actually decurse people).

  12. I will have to give this a shot. My main toon has not been able to log into ANY flashpoint for 4 days now. I keep getting the phase needs to be reset message when zoning in, even if I am solo. Their customer support is useless, they didn't even answer my ticket collecting dust for those 4 days now.

     

    My quest log is pretty bare, only a couple pvp/space daily quests and my storyline are in there. I've tried resetting the phases, dropping all but my storyline quest, picking back up the flashpoint quests and resetting them, having others zone into the FP and then try to invite me, nothing seems to work.

     

    This is a major game breaking bug when you cannot even log into a FP solo!

     

    It is working, we had this issue the other day. This method fixes it every time.

  13. Pay more attention, look at buffs with your peripherals.. i do just fine lookin at my reactives... again.. play the game without someone or something telling you what to use and when to use it.. stop trying to remove skill from the game

     

    Yeah when half the buffs I have are purple (like Energize). Oh and the shield from my healer sith sorc (static barrier) is also that same color. I am doing this right now and the game is not enjoyable. I dont like tanking where I have to look at my buff bar 90% of the time.

     

    And there is no good visual indicator that somehing procced, there are tons of effects / attacks on me most of the time (im a tank, remember?)

    Edit (fake): I dont want DBM or something that would make taking down a boss so much easier. I just want basic functionality like changing the way my interface looks and the way it presents information that is already available.

     

    And a combat log / damage meter would improve the way we play, help with theorycrafting and what not.

  14. And we ABSOLUTELY need an addon / combat text showing us when reactive abilities activate / a talent procs. I am a SA tank and half my abilities depend on procs. How am I supposed to see that Energize procs? Or Raze?

     

    At the moment I am STARING AT THE BUFF BAR all the time. This is NOT FUN AT ALL.

     

    The unit frames are also terrible (and we need target of target badly). The Health bar is as thin as a hair, often my healer tells me that im going down because im too busy watching my buff bar while chasing mobs around the room.

    Slightly offtopic, have anyone figured out how is the Discharge (with Dark Charge active) aoe range calculated? Some times it feels like its just a tad larger than melee "aoe" range, other times .. I had some lightning-across-the-screen situations at least several times this week, I really hate breaking CC and this makes me slightly mad :D . I suspect that the center point of the AoE is actually your target, but even then it doesnt feel right.

  16. That isnt a bug. You can use Guard no matter what kind of charge you have on. The downside to not using it with dark charge is you die very quickly...

     

    Wrong, Guard requires Dark Charge (read the tooltip). And I just tested it, the buff disappears from the target you were guarding if you change your lightsaber charge.

  17. Also I still don't see how a split would be better in any scenario (until you cap a stat). Not only does what i said before mean stacking a single stat in a vacuum would be better, but also stacking one actively makes the other worse.

     

    Think about this. If we have 50% def, we only use shield on 50% of the hits. If we have 75% def, we only shield on 25% of the hits. This devalues shield, the more def we have.

     

    Vice versa, if we have 50% shield, our def only mitigates 50% of the damage that would've gone though. If we have 75% shield, our def only mitigates 25% of the damage that would've gone though.

     

    The only synergistic ratings are shield and absorb...but because absorb scales nearly twice as fast as shield, we actually have better success with total mitigation by maxing absorb and then stacking shield.

     

    Split is always better. Diminishing returns.

     

    The question in our case is, when do we stop stacking attribute A and start with B (e.g. Shield, Defense etc). Maxing one thing would be terrible, you need a combination of all of them. If diminishing returns here are the same as in wow you would get r***d by them before you can hit 60% avoidance. Im pulling numbers out of my a.s.s. right now, I hope I was able to explain what I mean.

    While you are right here, the amount of stats needed to increase your defence from 50% to 75% will be just ridiculous. Instead, you can invest in Shield AND Absorb thus increasing your survivability / total damage mitigation alot.

     

    I am not sure if you are forgetting about diminishing returns, but it felt like it when I was reading your post. :mon_confused:
