  1. yea just give them more time, maybe another 100+ million bucks so they can improve the game.

    really guys?

with a high budget like this i except a good pve and decent pvp system at launch.

instead we have instanced 8vs8 grindtastic arenas, a pvp zone where you help your enemy to switch objectives (so you actually have a reward at all) and people call this endgame pvp.

cleary you have no idea how game development works.

  2. I'm on the quest on Ord Mantell when you need to down a 16 elite. I'm having a heck of a time getting him to die, and I've died several times. He rips through me and my companion (tried both T7 and Kira). Even with a medpack he's barely pushing 1/3 health when I die.

    Help please. :(

my only advice is come back at a later level if no one in the zone/a friend cant help you. unless you are on the infinite empire server in which case i can come help you myself.

  3. i dont know if you can get do it before you hit 50 but it is possible. you can re run older dungeons and choose the light side option to help build yourself back up. also if youre not to devoted to your crew skills yet you can pick up diplomacy which nets your aligments points ontop of companion gifts.
  4. Is not true that you can play without any repercussions. There is gear right now that my character cannot use due to some dark side choices (that are completely consistent with her identity as a smuggler) if I wanted to use it, I would have to put in more effort to grind alignment points. That is a repercussion- though I don't mind it. Repercussions are good and give choices meaning. However, if there is no downside to always choosing the light, then the choice becomes meaningless. I keep choosing as I want to for my character on the belief that Bioware will eventually put grey gear in, or do something at least to represent the characters that land somewhere in the middle.

If I become convinced that they aren't going to do this, then I will turn back on the light/dark indicator and start spacing through the dialog, always making light side choices, because why should I take on the repercussions of making role playing decisions, and what is the point of wading through all the voice acting if I'm not going to interact with it?

right now im darkside 4 and wearing gear with no alignment requirement. maybe isntead of trying to play DnD try playing this bioware game.

  5. The statement isn't describing making a choice based off of some structure like a job or game show. The statement is a reflection of moral choice, so, people who do "nothing" are not the same as people who decide that going down the path of light or dark is simply too narrow. Therefore it is justifiable to seek an alternative path that leads down neither.

Neutral is like choosing to go out in a infinite horizontal line rather than going up or down in a finite vertical line. Grey areas characters aren't necessarily pacifists but rather, their actions are neither corruptible or purified through constant conflict. They chose to walk the fine line of ambiguity.

yeah we call that being wishy washy.

  6. Actually grey gear would not be able to be worn by Dark and Light-siders, which that gear isn't.

But anyway I whole-heartedly desire grey alligned items. My character is anything but wishy-washy. He is a lawful neutral Imperial Agent that does what aids the Empire most effectively. Being grey actually takes more effort, because it requires actually thinking and balance. Balance is always much more difficult to achieve than just going all out in one direction.

total wishy washy. doing as little as you can to have any kind of commitment. stop over thinking everything.

  7. They're problem is that there are also a lot of things that aren't really alignment neutral. Like Relics. Unless you go light/dark, you probably won't be filling your relic slots for a while.

And anyone who says grey is wishy-washy is a damned fool. People aren't that black and white, even in the Star Wars universe. It's like you don't want your character to have a personality beyond blue or red. My Republic Trooper is ruthless. She'll sacrifice and kill without remorse if it's for the Republic. Carving a bloody bath obviously ends in darkside points, but refusing to betray the Republic for a few lousy credits earns lightside points.

Bounty Hunters are the same way. If a Bounty Hunter really did act dark side the entire time, nobody in their right mind would hire you, as it mostly seems to involve turning against your employer for more credits. A Bounty Hunter who stays bought and follows his contractor's orders to the letter is grey as well.

My Jedi Knight has a "Save 10 by killing 1, save 100 by killing 10, save a million by killing a thousand" mentality. This is also grey. Hell, "The Greater Good" characters in any fiction are almost universally grey.

    whole lot of wishy washy.

  8. By your insanely stupid logic players should get a simple A / B choice as soon as the character enters the game.

Are you Good or Evil ?

That choice will then lead to NO other options further in the game because your evil you will automatically select every evil option.

i see we are using insults now. having a hard time there champ? you can play the story however you want. you want to be a wishy washy true neutral character you can. there is an infinite number of dark or light side points in the game. you are gonna be doing alot of dungeons to get your social points up. you'll make plenty of alignment points while you're there.

  9. Are you serious?

You don't see the difference between choosing allegiance to a faction, and choosing to lock yourself into either being good or being evil?

Why even give us the choice every single action then? Just let me check 'evil character' on character creation and I can autorespond with the dark point option.

because can play however you want. you dont have to choose GOOD or EVIL all the way down to reach max alignment. and even if they added NEUTRAL you still can then only choose that option.

alignment is just a rep grind. its not new, just Bioware made it more fun.

  10. You make it sound so easy. From many sources I have been told that you can easily screw up your alignment by choosing a few choices the way you want to. Say you want to be tier 5 light but you end up choosing a few dark side choices along the way, you won't be able to reach tier 5.

Some say this is gossip but this is something that people should be aware of right away.

there are still plenty of ways to grind out alignment. either through diplomacy or dungeon running.
