  1. I hear what you are saying but I do not necessarily agree that it is a valid point. If people are violating the EULA that should be addressed by dealing with the people committing such violations. Not by ruining a fun part of the game for those that enjoy it.

Also, it was 16 elite comms a week. Is macro'ing something like that really so useful?

    I just don't get it.

  2. How do we address the fact that the main 5 pieces on the 72 gear have NO defense options. It's all absorption. How can we get defense in the 72 gear then? Even if the belt or bracers have a defense mod (I don't remember if they do), there's no enhancement option.

    Thoughts?

  3. I too have been struggling to understand all this. The theorycrafting points to Defense > Absorption, but then the 72 Jugg gear is ALL absorption. Not a single Defense item on the 5 main pieces. What's a Jugg tank to do? Stay with 69 gear??? That can't be right. The increased armor hasn't to be worth it. So just take the 5 72 absorption pieces and go defense/shield everywhere else you can with augs, belts, bracers, implants, ears, etc?

    HELP! :)

  4. By the way, as a follow-up to my message above, the Comm rewards for doing these missions had already been basically cut in half (or less) in 2.0, since they only rewarded TWO elite comms per mission, and more than double the number of Elite Comms are needed for pieces, as compared with their Black Hole predecessors, so this was already a grind that was going to be twice as long for those of us that used it to get that second tier gear.

Really no idea why this needed to be taken away from us :(

  5. I'd like to register my displeasure with this change as well. I just posted about it over in the Heroic Missions forum because I hadn't seen this thread yet.

I believe this is a critical misstep on the developers' part if they intended people to ever run these missions again. Frankly I'm floored trying to understand the reason for this change.

Someone posted above that Bioware has explained this change elsewhere. Could someone please post a link to that explanation? I am having a very hard time understanding this, and I am very down that Space Missions have basically been destroyed.

  6. I just read this and I have to say I am very upset about this as well.

Before 2.0, Heroic Space Combat awarded Black Hole Comms every day. It was a very viable way for those of us that don't necessarily have time to raid or do FPs every day to fit in a couple missions here and there and be able to obtain, albeit quite slowly, gear that was one tier down from the top gear.

By eliminating the Elite Comm rewards for these missions and make them Basic-Comm only, now Space Combat players will only be able to get gear that is 2 tiers down from the top, and frankly that is gear that is extremely easily and quickly obtained through other means.

I believe this is a bad mistake on the developers' part, and will lead to people no longer doing Space Missions. I will not be doing them anymore, and I was a dedicated, daily Space Mission player as my posts in other threads show.

Bioware, please re-consider this change, as it is an unnecessary nerf to one of the game's areas that is really enjoyed by those that play it.

  7.

Don't be mad! This isn't a bug and it will not be changing. We recognize that the change is a good thing and it was intended based off of your feedback. It was done both because it prevents the confusion of a totally different in-game system and (more importantly) because it's how you wanted and preferrd the system to work after you had a chance to try it out.

Increased communication with all of you has been awesome. Again, I genuinely apologize for my own confusion and for providing misinformation. Hopefully the clarification above makes sense for everyone!

Thanks so much Amber for once again participating in this thread and for helping us clarify how this is meant to work. The communication is very much appreciated!!!

That said, I found your last couple paragraphs a tiny bit hard to follow so I just want to ask one clarifying question to be sure. You are saying that the current system will NOT be changed, correct?

  8. And it would make them unlike any other daily/weekly mission in the game. There's nothing else that I can think of that MUST be completed on a certain day of the week. If I pick up a black hole daily, I can do it tomorrow if I want to. I really don't think they intended it to be that way...but who knows :)
  9. 3. If you did not do the mission from the previous day, it will no longer be in your mission log, meaning these are not missions that can be collected and then completed on the last day of the week. They cycle daily rather than "reset" weekly.

Thanks for the clarification Amber. I think your statement in Item 3 needs to be tweaked a little bit though. It's not that the mission will not be in your mission log the next day if you do not DO the mission. It's that if you do not COLLECT the mission from the TERMINAL on the day it is available, it will no longer be available AT THE TERMINAL the next day.

I do, in fact, collect these missions and do them when it is convenient for me. That said, I MUST pick them up on the day that they are available. So each day I am sure to log on to each toon and pick up that day's Heroic Space Mission on that toon.

    Does that make sense?

  10. PS That is working as intended. If you use arrow keys to move, when you aim with your mouse you will get a certain amount of cancellation of your efforts to move. I know many people use the arrow keys, and that works for them. I use only the mouse, and that works fine for me. Again, as I said above, it just takes a lot of practice. Once you get them on farm, it's really quite rewarding. I'm extremely glad they have added these missions to the game, and I look forward to them hopefully adding more in the future.
  11. You'll get there OP. Lorta was the first one i completed successfully too, and it was by the skin of my teeth. Now I have all 6 missions on farm and run them weekly on 6 different toons (yes, I know, I am more than a little crazy).

That said, I believe the most important thing to know about these missions is that they take a lot of PRACTICE. Practice, practice, practice, and you will find that eventually you have them all down.

    Good luck and happy hunting!!!

  12. thanks for the answers it was just a bit weird was all im used to having a world split between the factions and the closer you go to their territory the more dangerous it is

Many of the worlds in the game work that way, where the Republic and the Imperials overlap (Tattooine, Alderaan, Corellia, certain parts of Nar Shaddaa (bonus series primarily, plus the promenade area), Hoth).

Others, like Voss and the main quests on Nar Shadda, mostly (exceptions are the area around Voss-Ka and the promenade on Nar Shadda) consist of separate areas where speeders deliver players from the opposing factions so there is no real interaction.

Then you have Balmorra and Taris. As you know, those planets are actually flip-flopped between the two factions in terms of when in the game you play on those planets. So if you are an imperial you might be on Balmorra at level 15 but Taris on level 35. For pubs it is the reverse. Because of that, the entire planets are really separate instances. It simply wouldn't work any other way. Forget thinking about it from a PvP perspective. Think about it from a PvE perspective. It wouldn't work to be a level 15 imperial and arrive on Balmorra to find the level 35 mobs. So they are really completely separate areas (in fact Taris is nighttime on imps and daytime on pubs). I find this to be tremendously cool. Others find it less so. Your mileage may vary :)
