  1. star wars has lasers and blasters.

i dont know any reference if laser are lasers as we know them. but the blasters are plasma, shaped and put to speed by magnetfields. shields might dissipiate those magnet fields.

but star wars also knows of torpedos, missiles, bombs and boarding pots. so they wouldn ot be weaponless.

  2. Having a Star Trek vs Star Wars discussion is like having a Anything Else vs Warhammer 40K discussion.

Star trek is too rooted in realism to be able to fight the silliness in Star Wars numbers. In Star Wars the Empire could ram enough Star Destroyers down at the Klingons that they would run out of power or ammo before the Empire ran out of ships.

    This.

But then for the fun of it:

Imperials have Interdictors (in the movies area that is)

-> no warping, and slowed down for the klingons

The Imperial ships are larger by an insane quantity.

-> Every Star Destroyer hosts a small army of troops for boarding and invasion, and also several squadrons of bombers and fighters to deal with fast ships and bomb run small to medium targets. and in comparisson to imperial ships, the klingons have no capital ships. In fact only the Borg Supercubes would pose any fair match in size, numbers and firepower to ISDs. And there is only ONE in The First Contact and it needs a whole fleet to take just that one out.

  3. Being a healer I thought of this spec myself as Im familiar wit that tree. Let us know how it goes? I discarded the idea myself because that top talent in Lethality..as well as the 10% DoT increase below it.. too good to pass up? and I like the idea ALOT better than putting pts into injection ( bottom left heal tree )...a 3 sec base casting time just isnt feasible =)

@ Lugtor - ah yes HS ! I will get that in 2 lvls =) that will help thx! but BOO @ 2 pts in lower heal tree..trust me Ive cast that spell a thousand times..not feasible to me personally to tie my OP up with a base THREE second cast time? no...

IN PvE it doesnt matter that much and your healer wont argue with you if you help him now and then.

In PvP i tend to use it before i go into the fray or if im forced to stay at range because of aoe cluster**** or a superior melee. also the same talents reduces the casting time of kolto injection :)

  4. I like it =)

I am just 34 and up to this point have been heal specd and as I am not guilded yet PUGing WZ's on an OP can be commendation.. starved if I am just trying to do my best job as healer. So Im trying Lethality.

I like the ability to focus AE's on doors and objectives with AE and I also like the surprise ppl get when ( at these low lvls ) im out of stealth and they attack me and theyre HPs stay up at first as I begin to load up DoT's and then BANG a bit of back end burst with CULL. I'm not wrecking but it sure as hell gets their attention =)

Cons : Energy energy energy, Finding a time that I have a precious TA built up to use

Stim consistantly is a little more than difficult for me

    Questions :

    1. Any high lvl OPs share their opinions? Does the damage scale well enough after the tree

    is finished?

    2. What GEAR stats optimize DoT damage so as to eek out a bit more? Surge? Power?

Dreams : Some type of talent that would allow us to obtain a ranged TA

just my noob thoughts thanks for input

your dream talent exists. it needs 2 points in the healing tree.

also i never had any ta problems, if you dont intent to spam cull.

open up with hidden strike and shiv gives you 2 ta.

if you need a further one, get it with kolto injection or shiv again. should be on cd by the time you need it again.

    I am using this atm:

    http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/imperial_agent/operative/#::f17efefefe2f8ef4e2fe3fe3fe7f3:

with the ta generation fom hiddenstrike, shiv, kolo injection and killing i rarley have ta problems.

the decreased cd of stim and adrenaline probe, in combination with the instant energy gain solves all major energy troubles i might have. crit poison ticks giving back 2 energy helps a bit too.

  5. it makes sense, but you need to open up your minds. lethality is a true hybrid, that can - unlike too WoWs hybrids - be played as an actual hybrid and work!

In PVP i have no "golden rotation" you are way to flexible and you rarely have 1v1 encounters. Just be sure to use all of your skills. If u dont want to get into melee, use kolto injection for ta.

When you face a melee kite him - you have two slows, a stun with an integrated speed boost, vanisch and escape vs snares, and if everything goes wrong stealth cloack.

when fighting a ranged, in most cases its better to go into melee range, because there you can deal more dmg and use distraction etc. Your melee skills still deal a lot dmg

Your optimum combat range is between melee and mid range

But dont mind to say at long range, darting, throwing nades and healing if the melee becomes an aoe cluster****.

You have to stay mobile, or at least more mobile then the others. You have the tools for it.

  6. i dont like her. too psycho. and i dont like mindless anarcho/punks to begin with. she has too much of jack from mass effect 2 and i dint like her either.

was so glad when i got vector only to notice he is a crazy bugman. the other companions are quite fine.

  7. i am going to see it. I dislike this 3D shizzles, but you only got to see Star Wars on the big screen that much.

As for the prequels.. i dont think they are that bad.

And wenn Natalie Portman has her screentime i just pretend i cant hear her and enjoy her looks.

  8. Dude, the whole topic is a spoiler. :D

Also note if you choose your solution, your circumvent the bugged boss fight, but it drastically alters the outcome of chapter 1 and how the story goes on.

  9. It's like Telos from KoTOR, the rebuilding of Taris has dozens of other destroyed worlds hanging on it's sucess or failure. It's all a mind **** more or less, demoralize the Republic by sabotaging their efforts to rebuild a symbol of sith domination.

well yeah, i admit it makes kind of sense in a pretty hot cold war setting.

  10. You guys... You... You are aware that the Sith and Jedi, and their core philosophies, aren't Bioware inventions.... Right?

That the Sith are puppy-kicking, children-eating murderrapists from Hell was established in A New Hope and elaborated on in future movies, sequel as well as prequel. That Jedi were passionless monks without attachments, earthly or spiritually, was established in that same movie, and elaborated on extensively in the prequel movies.

The flaws in the arguments, the stupidity of the Sith, and all the other laughable and problematic things with the Jedi and Sith orders weren't Bioware inventions. How on Earth could anyone ever think that?

They were. Lucas gives enough freedom to choose otherwise. And there are many authors that did. Even the ones that wrote for that game. Drew Karpshyn for example.

Does Palpatine or any Sith from the movies acts like a complete sociopathic moron ?

It was BW's choiche to interpret sith that way. And i honstley dont like it. But they did so in kotor before, so i didnt expect much more.

Thing is imho BW isnt that bad. There are many NPC siths that are pretty reasonable and definitley see the sense in LS acts.

Beside the Taris thingy, there are many LS actions you get praise for doing, even by Sith superiors.

I mostly blame the DS/LS system, wich encourages acting complety moronic to get the DS5 to get the benefits of it. That way it becomes a thing to just farm and imho undermines the whole point why swtor is a game worth playing: The story and the roleplaying in a Star Wars universe.

If I wouldnt want that I would go play WoW or Rift, because honestly the mechanics of WoW are far superior to that in SWToR

  11. Yeah, i wonder why BW made Sith that way. I mean their lead writer is the guy who wrote Darth Bane.

But then: The Dark Brotherhood is formed because the Sith realized how flawedtheir system is and that they will never beat the Jedi if they keep infighting. Darth Bane then notices that the Brotherhood isnt the Sith Way either, because its too Jedi like. So he introduces the Rule of Two to solve the problems of infighting and being too Jedi like.

The Sith in the ToR area are just complete moronic, socopathic, humicidal, pychotic maniacs and you wonder how they manage to run an empire.

I am on Taris now, and i have problems to motivate me RP wise to play on as Imperial, and concidering rerolling Republic.

Your are on Taris, and the whole point of is, is to demolish it because you could. "Taris was destroyed by sith centuries ago, and now the Republic tries to rebuild it. We will demolish it again and keep it that way!" So why?

There is a line where they at least TRY to give reason: Taris rebuild would become a symbol of republic fortitude and a major military stagign point. This somewho made it kind of reasonable, but still...

As for beeing an imperial Agent at that time:

You'll work as double agent in the republic, and while beeing recruited you can say:"i have seen enough death. the empire brings and knows only death. im sick of it" (not cited exactly)

The time beeing i would be perfectly happy to defect

  12. Why would a Chiss work for the Empire?

Well Thrawn did it, because he thought only the Empire had the ressources and the order (as opposed by the chaos of a republic) to fight the "the great enemy".

    In ToR?

I think they are there for the Thrawn fan boys (like me).

    In game:

1.The Empire recognizes your skills and employs you in turn for money and power.

    2. You are like the american or iranian guys that go all Nazi.

    3. Chiss IAs are actually double agents for the Chiss.

  13. Ok i just finished balmorra, i did everything except the herioc quests and im lvl 35 and now my jedi knight quest is telling me i have to be lvl 37 to go to quesh. What have i missed out on? and what planet should i go back to do get to lvl 37 to continue my class quest?

pvp, flashpoints, the heroics. youll get HUGE chunks of XP there.

  14. This is because of the games have to give you something to play with.

If you read the books (the good ones, anyway) you'll notice the force users dont go "wizards of destruction raining doom from above", despite the lowest special effect costs.
