  1. Your stats are looking good, a little high on the defense and low on absorb but that's likely due to some bad drops or itemization (>.<!) of our gear.

Work on getting that Absorption Rating up to match your shield chance, in the long run it'll do more than the defense will.

As for Defensive Measures, it has no use in PvE since very few mobs actually stealth and harpooning something usually gets it's attention (and pop-ups aren't hidden, they're triggered spawns ). So Steely Resolve pays off more for those two points.

And you asked for a rotation using Energy Blast rather than Gut.

    Priority Rotation:

Stockstrike, Ion Pulse, High Impact Bolt, Hammer Shot, Energy Blast

( for a RIFT Junkie like myself the Macro would look like this )

    cast Stockstrike

    cast High Impact Bolt

    cast Energy Blast

    cast Sticky Grenade

    cast Full Auto

    cast Ion Pulse

    (leave Hammer Shot on bar)

So basically my hotkeys look like this.

1 (Neural Jolt) 2 (Hammer Shot) 3 (Ion Pulse) 4 (Stockstrike) 5 (High Impact Bolt) 6 (Energy Blast)

I hope I don't need to explain that later.

But the best way to maintain your ammo and threat output is to weave Hammer Shot between your abilities (Like Hunters in WoW with Steady Shot).

(I am not making game comparisons simply referencing similar situations)

Full Auto should not be in your rotation as a tank, ever. You dont' get a full cast, and is therefore less damage than basically anything else you can use.

  2. Hey guys, I'm looking for some tips to help maximize my tanking for my guild runs. We are starting to hit some of the lvl 49-50 Flashpoints and the Hard Modes. My questions are as follows:

#1. Im currently running this build http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801RMRrdRrogZMsr0o.1 and have done fine tanking all Flashpoints so far up to Red Reaper. Is this build viable and if not, can you suggest one that will be viable. I am planning to only do PvE at this time, and plan to make a PvP build once dual spec comes out.

#2. My stats are as follow, wanting to know how close (or far) I am from ideal for where I am in the game.

    Accuracy - 94.57%

    Crit - 13.73%

    Crit Mult - 50%

    Health - 16,224 (buffed), 14530 (unbuffed)

    Armor - 7309

    Dmg Reduction - 49.36

    Defense - 18.58 (buffed), 17.69 (unbuffed)

    Shield - 48.11

    Shield Absorb - 35.60

As far as gear goes, all of my moddable gear I am working on getting Purple Armor/Mods/Enhancements for, and my gear that isnt modded is lvl 126 epic gear.

Thanks in advance for any help given, I appreciate your time and input.

    Hey there ^_^

Seems you're going in the right direction (stacking shield stats rather than defense chances) with your mitigation, you could have slightly more accuracy, but you're doing just fine on it. As far as your health goes, when you say "unbuffed" do you mean stims, etc? You should always have your 5% up, so I'm curious if you mean you have 14.5k with the 5% or you mean just naked (literally no buffs).

Also, as for your spec, there is no reason to take gut what-so-ever. If anything, that 1 point (I'd prefer two, it's what I do) should be in either the Stockstrike damage buff in the first tier of the assault tree, or in Energy Blast.

As far as my experience anyway, you seem to be on the right track besides gut, and are doing plenty well with stat allocation.

What kind of gear are you in, set wise? How much of the set? All this information is useful :p

Also, intoxicated from the night before, and no sleep. Sorry for poor grammar.

  3. I'm rolling with the "Iron Fist" build on my vanguard, now at 46.

The solo experience took quite a while to become fun for me, I'd say the feeling of "uberness" didn't kick in until the mid to late 20s.

At 40+, I felt like I became a monster truck that walks like a man and really wreaked havoc.

This is the case. At level 1-25 I felt "Like a soldier, a grunt" as I described it to a friend. At levels 25-30, I got real excited for storm. Now that I have it, I feel like a war god, decimating anything that comes near me. Storm makes a huge difference, it's not like Jedi and their leaping. You take a running start, hulk out, and lunge only to smash them with the stock.

    Dangerous Damage, Explosions, and Invulnerability.

    I'd say it gets better.

Also, I'm drunk. Sorry if some of it doesn't make sense.

  4. This game takes place thousands of years before the movies, so it wouldn't make sense to have the exact same looks as the stuff from the movies.

Still, it doesn't make it acceptable to be a techno samurai. Even the statues IN GAME that are supposedly ancient, even by the games lore being "thousands" of years before the movies, they're still wearing robes. ROBES are the ORIGINAL Jedi attire, not commando suits with feudal japan helmets.

    /signed, change this ****.

  5. Have we heard any more news on when the PVP gear (battlemaster, champion, etc) will have its armoring able to be removed? The only thing keeping my guardian in crumby gear is the fact that I refuse to look like a techno samurai.
  6. I'm sure the thread has been made a million times by now, and I have read the stickies, but there is no search function. I'm looking to the community for feedback.

I am a level 32 Deception Assassin. It's a fun play style, and I enjoy it. I'm looking to shake it up a bit though and try Darkness out. Though I have a few questions:

Darkness vs Deception PVP: How well would it compare? In deception, I can easily kill people in a 1v1 fight (even characters 40+ since it boosts me). Would this change much? I'd expect a speed in kill decrease, but I don't want to be just helpless for damage. World PVP is something I take part in regularly, and enjoy catching my Republic enemies by surprise. Would I still be strong enough to defeat them handily? How big of a damage decrease are we talking?

Companions, I <3 Khem Val: I enjoy his personality, his story, and his over all ******ery. I'm curious as to if it would be more beneficial to put him into damage stance and let me tank it, or to let him. (I do not yet have Ashara Zevros and have not made up my mind on using her yet).

PVE: Would I still be just as effective, if not more? That's an easy one.

  7. I've been on it for a while, and am noticing my own faction pretty well dominates the competition.

I won't say which, so we don't get an influx of people, but I was curious: If you play here, what faction do you find to be the strongest in PvP and PvE Progression currently?

  8. Got it on the 11th. I don't expect to be in until Friday. Saturday is more likely, but, I'm hoping Friday.

Might even have to wait until Sunday, which is lame. I'm not a fan of the staggering early access, but luckily, I know for a fact I'll be playing this game in at most 6 days. I've waited a LONG time for this, another week won't kill me.

I'll just smoke cigarettes and talk smack about Jedi until it comes out.

What is everyone else doing while waiting? I'm going to play all my other single player Star Wars game (Force Unleashed 1 and 2 are next on the agenda.)
