  1. Thanks for the post jjoren! We're not able to reproduce this on our end, do you remember when this started happening?

It affects characters that at any point had Rocket Boost trigger off of Activate Random Mount ability.

To reproduce, have Rocket Boost selected as the only Favourite (this is no longer doable on live servers btw) and use Activate Random Mount. Change zone while the proper Rocket Boost is off cooldown, it should now trigger on its own during the loading screen.

  2.

After the terminal is clicked, all DPS absolutely have to stop damage. [Fact check?] Seems like the bug happens when the ship is reset and the dps is too high/fast and gets the ship to the 100% lock before the ship gets backed off completely.

Not entirely accurate, but close enough.

When the ship is hit, Jindo puts a shield on himself that absorbs certain amount of damage. When this shield is popped, the ship gets a "return" command. However, the command is properly observed only if the ship managed to get all the way back by that time. Otherwise the ship appears to snap in the front, but registers in the back (and is therefore "out of range" of the guns, which then do nothing).

Now, since the shield probably hasn't been upgraded since 1.0 while the damage output exploded in comparison, it is extremely easy to pop the shield prematurely. Stopping dps until the ship gets all the way back is indeed the correct way that will prevent the bug from happening.

  3. "Expected"? it was stated its fine and nothing will be changed, it was working like this for 5 YEARS. it was not even announced a single time, so that the people cheesing it couldnt "save" their CCs for the crystals and have to buy more. its smart cashgrab tactic.

By expected (that is, can't say for certain until servers are up with the patch, but it's more likely than not) I mean the part when even account unlocked CM crystals will prevent a legacy weapon to be transferred.

Again, patching the cheesing of unlocks is understandable, ruining legacy weapons in the process is not.

  4. Weapons and outfit designer won't change anything. It has nothing to do with that. It's all about moving crystals/tunings around.

Making the account unlock a requirement if you want to use a crystal/tuning on another character is actually the only legitimate bit of this whole change.

we're talking about transfering items for stats. If legacy weapons come you will still have to pay huge cc fees to unlock crystals/tunings for an entre account instead of sharing them.

I'm guessing you meant weapons in outfit designer. Yes, we would have to pay for the account unlock (as is customary and accepted for any other item in collections), but we would be able to use the legacy weapons unhindered. The concern about the patch is that even with the account unlock, using a CM crystal in a legacy weapon may effectively make it character bound and it will require additional in-game resources to circumvent that limitation.

Sale on the unlocks will not remedy this expected situation.

  5. Play smarter. You do not need to rip out the crystal. Just slap any non CM crystal in over top of it (a low level one that costs virtually nothing to insert) and then move the weapon.

If it is a weapon you love to move around your legacy a lot ... then just put a non-CM crystal in and never worry about it again.

Within the various challenges players face in this, or any, MMO... this is a mole hill being reimaged as a mountain by some here. Yes.. we have to adjust and adapt to a change in game mechanics. Welcome to MMOs.

Of course there are workarounds, but again, it will require extra resources to use an item paid for with real money.

    This is not okay.

  6. Use Collections as it is intended, and no alt across your account (not just legacy) is penalized by this change.

You are missing the point. Even if I have the crystal unlocked for account (again, expectation based on the wording of the note, not actual implementation), I may not be able to transfer a legacy weapon with the crystal in it, I will need to rip it out, transfer the weapon, reclaim the crystal on an alt and put it back in. This will cost me credits each time I want to do it, despite paying money for the unlock already, if not for the crystal itself.

Do you see the issue here?

  7. - Random CD triggering from entering an instance still needs to be removed

It's not exactly random, I believe it actually activates upon zoning in (most of the duration gets eaten via loading screen), and this happens on every character that ever had it activate via Random Mount. Tested. Wonder if it got fixed...

  8. It would seem we are being systematically punished for having alts. Having to grind command rank for each one separately, and now the inability to use a legacy weapon with a cartel market crystal.

I understand the desire to remove the loophole of unlocking CM items via legacy weapons instead of paying for the unlock. But after the change (going by the wording here, I reserve judgement until the actual implementation) I am guessing I will not be able to use a CM crystal in a legacy weapon even if I pay the account unlock without having to rip out (and spend credits) the crystal when I want to move it to an alt for actual usage.

So I will not be paying the unlock cost anyway, and as a bonus, people who paid actual money will now be pissed off. Someone have not thought this through.

You could have at least delayed this nonsense until after you add weapons to outfit designer.

  9. This fight is not "bugged", just poorly scripted and not adjusted to new outputs.

The ship will move to the front after Jindo's shield (the one he gets when you hit the ship with the gun) is popped but only if has already flown all the way to the back and stopped.

So the easiest way is to stop dpsing after firing the gun so the ship has time to reach the second spot.

  10. Since I have firsthand experience with the original Gravity Well ability, having it on a missile and therefore spammable and avoidable would probably be too strong and/or too clunky. It would be much more suitable as a systems ability, but that would remove tensor, or possibly co-pilot ability, but then it wouldn't be ship restricted, both of which would result in a sad koala

"Disable IFF" would certainly be interesting, and probably more star warsy than the proposed space wizardry.

Trouble is, as a support vessel you usually lose out on a few medals per match, which is unfortunate if you're chasing CXP.

Not necessarily, also if it would mean the difference between a loss and a win, the gain would probably be greater than from extra 2-3 medals.

The T1 + T3 scout thing actually sounds incredibly frustrating. Short range primaries, short range and/or long lock-on secondaries, bajilion short CD missile breaks (some of which double as escapes or defensive CDs), all on fast maneuverable targets...but hey, could go well with Yakety Sax...

Back on topic, pull friendly mines and drones to the T3 scout? Fine if it sucks them off another sat, but not so good if your team-mate has them all carefully spread out, no? But it would be fun to fly-by a GS or tick bomber and pull them all to your position. Kaboom!

The wording was a bit confusing, but "target friendly drones and mines" relative to the missile target means enemy mines and drones.

To have an idea what Gravity Well does, check this. It has additional space wizardry, but the opener is Gravity Well. Purple blob that draws stuff into it and crushes it.

A different thought, how about having an interdiction drone actually do some interdicting and have it divert beacon spawns from X km radius to itself? :mon_trap:

  11. I feel your pain, I do. But from the studio's perspective, they have to keep the line very simple. There were a small group of people that never had any issues from launch till now, and they are the only ones who got it. I thought I was I that group and would never have know otherwise - it's probably the ONLY thing I would have had of distinction here. But I still understand. Drawing any exceptions really just invites every exception.

The thing is, there apparently are people with larger gaps in their sub who got the reward nevertheless.

  12. Since 15.12.2011 I was preferred for only about 10 minutes due to billing issue. I remember because I was online and got booted out. I sorted it out right away, got nothing.

Supposedly there are people with longer gaps and they got the reward, think I will ask a CSR what gives.

  13. What would be the point of naming them anyway? They are most likely two shippers doing their event five and won't be seen after; small chance of them being your garden variety conquest farmer.

The one with 16 deaths got five medals in subsequent DOM, granted it was from just sitting on a sat, but still.

  14. Well, event's here, and TRE was swarmed with people new to GSF. I don't remember the last time I've seen 12v12 an hour before reset this early in the week.

That said, at least rep side, the new guys were not a massive drag. They listened, mostly, and basically you wouldn't be able to tell whether those guys are just farming event and screw everyone else, or players putting in decent effort in trying out new game mode to see if they like it. Not sure if imps had some guidance on their side, but I can't complain overmuch about the guys we got on our team, as I expected much much worse.

Wonder if it will hold, though.

  15.

I cancelled the convo where she "dies" to prevent her becoming inaccessible and I will not be finishing the new chapter on any characters that use her until I know I can get her back. Because choices matter.

Not to mention few/some/a lot of people bought the exquisite companion customization and account unlocked it with the BW fun bucks. There better be a way to regain access to the companion in question in the near future.

Last week is an incredible pile-up of bad decisions by the devs...

  16. Galactic StarFighter..

The worst imablanced pvp system imaginable..

[snip] most disapointing pile of wookie droppings i've seen in my entire life.

    It's 100% out of balance...

if you're interested in playing it tough luck you had to join in "the fun"back when it first came out to even make a chance of getting a few decent kills as a blank pilot without any upgrades.

It's like playing a pay 2 win game as a f2p player eventhough you're subscribed.

    It's total garbage.

this game barrely has any strategic or skill value.

It's just upgrade to max and you win.

    Thank you for your feedback.

Hope you enjoy the ground PvP much more, where showing up for the very first time in bolstered meager PvE gear will not in the slightest diminish your non-PvP related expertise with the class of your choosing in an environment that is totally not at all different from basic leveling experience, and veterans with top tier PvP gear playing a FotM class will not leave any bruises after they are done having their way with your posterior.

    Have a nice day!

  17. So one of the objectives for the "Light vs. Dark" event is to do 5 GSF matches for the "Ace Pilot" objective.

Although in theory this could increase the number of players, I'm afraid the reality is that it's going to increase the number of people throwing matches to get it out of the way. The swathe of self-destructers we get in "Clash in Hyperspace" or "Total Galactic War" event weeks is bad enough, this is only going to add to that I'm afraid.

    ~ Eudoxia

I wanted to say "Thanks, Captain!", but then I realized that the 5 GSF objective is for legendary rank only, so the actual number of people attempting this may not be high, or even noticeable in between the various conquest farmers. Not to mention this particular objective may not be anywhere near the top of their list, so I am not exactly expecting locust swarms of kamikaze Legendary Victors-to-be on day one.

At any rate, I reserve judgement until the event hits.
