  1. Most of my fears have been realized, unfortunately.

    - The interface makes healing more a chore than fun. Have to look all over the place to make sure you and the party stay healed. Targeting companions in a mixed group requires extra key strokes. And I can go on, but anyone that has healed for any length of time recognized the regression in the interface.

    - The Flashpoints might be super cool--but unless you join a large guild or are willing to spend a considerable amount of time spamming chat, you'll never see any of the Flashpoints between Black Talon and end game. There just aren't enough players in the Fleet zone to fill a group. The players are spread out on the planets working on leveling.

Don't have a lot of confidence the game will retain subscribers much past March. With five years in development, the idea the interface and grouping issues will be fixed in short order aren't realistic. But I guess there is a minor upside--at least the queues will disappear. Of course, there will probably be some empty servers--further accelerating the rate of players quiting. If the player base drops too much, the likelihood of EA dumping more money into the project becomes slim. With less development dollars stuff like new content and "to be added after launch" items take longer to be delivered--if they are delivered at all.

I guess the tl:dr--TOR could have been a contender.

    1) You look to the left to see your party members health bars....so what's this about it being "all over the place"?

    2) I didn't have this problem...must be your server

    3) Your feelings have no bearing on the game's future success, really.

  2. Is this becoming an issue for anyone else? I'm out leveling a planet to the point where quests are only giving me 5 XP per quest. I understand the need to scale down NPC XP, but the XP for completing the mission should be the same.

This pretty much forces me not to PVP at all for fear of out leveling my current planet. Also, forces me to not waste my time discovering all planets, just the ones I level with.

No.............but I haven't played more than a few of the warfronts since I prefer PVE content.

  3. Hey guys,

I'll try to keep this short so people actually read the first post this time. I always anticipated that when SWTOR launched, I would be playing it pretty much 24/7 for the next few weeks. Afterall, I've followed it since 2008 when these forums came out, checking out every friday update and listening to every ToroCast podcast each week. I was really pumped just before getting access, couldn't wait to play!

Then I got in and... I don't know. I just feel really underwhelmed. I don't feel like playing more than an hour a day. And the funny thing is, I really enjoyed the game so far! It's pretty damn perfect and exceeded alot of my expectations. But why do I feel underwhelmed? I don't know... Somehow, something just killed my hype. Maybe it's one hour server queues? Maybe the fact that people are at 50 when I'm at 10? I dunno..

Anyone else feel underwhelmed by launch?

    Nope.

I knew the game was coming out, but ignored all details regarding it until Nov 2011 or so, then I preordered it. It exceeded all my expectations and them some. Been playing it almost nonstop (using alts too) and I LOVE it.

Not hyping the game years before it came out has made it a better experience for me, but is that a suprise?

  4. Alright so, the queues in order to get in is just insane. Estimated wait: 2h 05m 00s. As a guildie just said "I'll be off work at 8, then have to wait 2 hours in order to play". Many of us are already lvl 20, 30 etc. Hell, i would even pay to move. Anyone who plays there can confirm what im saying. Oh well, im just gonna whine 'till i get free transfer, wah wah wah.

Bioware must be toasting the bubblely.

  5. - Edit -

Been getting a lot of people saying it's people's own fault for not ordering sooner and etc. As I've said before, I didn't choose to not order in July, I would have in a heartbeat. People don't have the extra income to spend on games whenever they feel like it, idk why that is hard to understand. :p

    Income is your responsibility.

Income is your responsibility, so actually, you did make a choice not to buy the game. Saying you don't have the money, who's fault is that?

If your going to say your parents, I would not be surpised.

  7. So I am supposed to what?

Watch the far left of the screen to see who needs healing and miss all the action right in front of me?

Tab thru players to find the one that needs healing or create a macro for every new group and try to remember who is assigned to who.........?

And then have the focus away from what is actually happening to watch the far left edge of the screen?

Im guessing half the players who were willing to heal will bail on boring and broken healing quickly leaving the community needing healers badly.

You play the game, not the other way around.

  8. And get rid of the "fan" threads that serve no function other than to attack other posters?

There may be complaint threads that you don't like, that doesn't make them invalid. Also, your thinnly veiled "praise" threads aren't fooling anyone, it's obvious your real purpose is attacking anyone making any complaints about anything. People may be complaining, but they are directing it the company of which we are all customers...your attacks are directed at your fellow players.

If you want the to clean the forums up...perhaps you should start by cleaning up your own bile and vitriol.

Post what you find offensive for us to see, hm?

Otherwise you are making accusations without proof.

  9. I notice the huge trend of everyone wanting to roll this class, like I see tons of forum posts saying this on various sites.

Heck, I wanted too also, now I'm debating it, I don't want them to turn out like "DK's"

How are Bounty Hunters or Soldiers?

I have yet to play, so I've yet to see a trend. I will say I've decided to start with that class (similar to what I liked in KOTOR).

  10. I laugh at my own lust for power and always went non canonical dark side in the games, zapping and bending people to my will.

That was fun, but being a beloved lightside hero (or neutral) has just as many moments too....the storytelling is usually that good....so ultimately, it's either an RP decision (think in single player terms and go from there) or which you like the look of better.

Or you can make several characters and try different paths with them.....nothing wrong with alts. :)

  11. I know people enjoy different aspects of MMO's and I can respect whatever style of play one may enjoy the most. Be it raiding, PVP, casual quest play etc.

Personally my favorite element of an MMO is leveling faster than other people. I was always competitive in each WOW xpac, and had the largest launch anticipation for TOR one can imagine.

Sadly this element has been taken away from me. To add insult to injury we have the 1% fanboys to call us all whiners about being excluded from the first. Now I got over it and am still patiently waiting to play.

The bigger problem for me now is that the server my Sith Reddit guild occupies is classified as "Super Heavy". At this rate me and my wife will be in on Friday and our chances of joining our friends is not good.

Now I am not here to complain but would like to point out many of us do feel very left out. It was nice of the devs to release an estimate today but the fact still remains. I really didn't want to do this but feel it is important to bring up the fact that I did meet Daniel Rattcliffe once and we are bros. Please pass this along to the correct authorities so I can start playing tonight.

    Thank you for your time.

    *raises eyebrow*

Your wife is a lucky woman.

  12. I swear not even 24 hours ago every server was dealing with the pvp WZ exploit. There are threads outlining the tainted servers.

Yet I keep reading how this is the best launch ever? For who the exploiters?

This is the worst type of fanboism yet. To hurrah Bioware after they knew of this problem is laughable.

The US is truly full of Sheep.

It helps get your point across when your personally attack an entire country, right? Or are you being a fool because you know nothing else?

  13. I just want to say a big thank you to Bioware, and especially Stephen Reid. I was extremely wary of the rolling waves at first, because after day one it seemed like no one was going to be getting in. I am pleasantly surprised now to find out that I will be in by Friday at the latest, and probably by wave 4 tomorrow. When I originally pre-ordered I had expected maybe 1-2 days max (due to pre-ordering Nov 28th). Now I find that I will not only walk into stable servers, but will get in several days early.

After a bumpy start communication-wise, Stephen Reid definitely stepped up at the end of day one, gave consistent, reliable communication, and kept a cool head despite people asking to lynch him.

While I'm sad that I probably wont get to be server first to 50, I am happy with how this EGA has gone, and glad that the game is going strong now.

    Thank you Bioware

Ps, thank you guys for working with Amazon to get their Pre-orders out on time as well.

You could have been smarter as well. Lesson learned, eh?

  14. Lets start off with the human character model. The human race is going to be a given in any game out there really.

Then we have the Chiss, it's really just the human model with blue skin and red eyes.

The Cyborg "race" which is just the human character model with some tech on their faces.

The Miraluka are humans with blind folds over their faces.

The Mirialan are basically just green human character models.

The Rattataki are just gray human character models.

The Zabrak are human character models with some red and black skin with horns.

Sith pure bloods are humans with red skin and some tentacles on their faces.

Last are the Twi’lek which are also human models with two tentacles coming off the back of their heads.

I just feel like they really could of put in some actual effort into the game to have some better races than the "Cyborg" and a few others. They could of put in Wookies, Kel Dor, or any number of unique races. But they chose to go the easy route and pick the races that took very little effort to create models for because they can all come from the same basic human model.

    Iamdisappoint Bioware.

    Few questions....

    How much effort is enough?

What examples do you have on what's possible, considering voice acting and facial animation is a factor?

Why do your feelings have any bearing at all on game design?

  15. Bioware does not deserve a Break. I'm gonna go faster and harder till the inevitable ban.

The known Beta exploit and doing nothing about it for launch has driven me to endless flames.

I know there are countless 40's on my pvp server. The ball was dropped..they pay the price.

I'm sure their main concern is people whining about not being first in line, or those that seem to think they own certain servers.

  16. Hey all

after speaking to some guildies some of which are in game and some of which are not, I cant help but feel the early access system could have been handled much better and with a lot less backlash and forum rage if they had simply emailed everyone a start date on the 12th telling them "based on the date you pre-ordered swtor your account start date will be 14/12/11" for example, at least then people would know where they stood and could plan their life eg. work etc around this, rather than saying "hey guys keep checking your emails all day and praying that your place in our database is today"

I think most of the forum rage is because people feel in the dark about when they can start and it is causing disruptions to their day to day life as some people understandably may want to book a day off work or something which in the current system would not be wise.

Just my thoughts what do you guys think

When you want to show empathy, I would suggest not supporting the rage and anger (online or otherwise) posting or moods as acceptable.
