  1. What am I doing wrong?

Story bosses usually have a powerful skill that you need to interrupt. Once you get the hang of interrupting those, the fights become trivial. I'm not sure why people recommend getting help from others. That's just the easy way out and you'll never learn to play your character properly.

  2. Second, does anyone have a list/ location guide of where to pick them all up?

All 3 series have pointer quests on the fleet. Finish your class story and return to the fleet as asked and you will see all 3. Some can be started before that but I usually just wait until class story is done. The Ilum one is actually a decent length planet story arc.

  3. People say this in every gear progression mmo. I wonder why.

"Low level PvP is super fun! I can stomp casuals, re-rolls and level 11s! But now that I have to play people with gear it's horrible! I don't want to take the time to acquire the gear myself so I'll just complain on the forums!"

  4. Legacy is about building a family tree with multiple characters over a long time. So yeah, for your first character at low level, there isn't much. Press Y and check out the perks if you want to unlock something. Although I dont think there is anything for legacy level 1.
  5. Seen it twice. Happened to the tank in our rated team. (who definitely doesn't hack). Every time we passed it to him it registered a goal. He was just as confused as everyone else. Opposition starts yelling "nice hack" of course. I think he got knocked down in the endzone and the server just had his position stuck there for some reason.
  6. currently "leet players" see people like me in full recruit gear and decide its a good idea to camp us for the free kills.

No, they don't. This is seriously in your head. If your whole team sucks and is getting camped, it isn't because they see you in your recruit gear.

So you had a couple bad games against teams that obviously out-geared your team by a lot. So what. Both sides have recruit geared players and a lot have players in PvE greens and random quest blues. Stick it out for 3-4 days and you're in full battlemaster.

  7. Lineage2 for me as well. I didn't play DAOC but it sounds similar.

Giant castle sieges with siege weapons. Guilds and alliances working together to defend or attack. Lineage 2 sieges were at set times so basically the whole server showed up and went at it.

  8. The stuff you get from the vendors before lvl 50 is the same as PvE gear. The level 50 and up PvP armor has an extra stat called expertise on it. This stat is a direct increase to damage and reduction to dmg received during PvP.

The gear still works fine in PvE, but the expertise will do nothing, And because some of the item's stat budget is used for expertise, the other stats will be lower than a pure PvE piece of the same item level. (typically)

  9. I didn't watch these but yes people have cheated, like in most things in life.

That doesn't change the speed boosts/increases I posted

Why not? At least you would know what it looks like when people hack. The guy scores 3 times in huttball in about 10 seconds, running the ball from mid to goal each time, alone. It's not 'keeping up with your speeder' speed. It's about 10X that.

You are correct by saying many of the hack complaints are just players ignorant of in game skills, but there are legitimate complaints as well. The one line in your OP kind of makes it sound like you are sick of hearing people "still talk about speed hacks on the forums." Well, that's because they still exist.

  10. People would forget to un-check it, a game would pop, but they didn't want play another one. So they would either decline or let the timer run out if they went afk. This caused WZs to start with uneven teams. It's good that it's gone.
  11. Yep, getting teleported around. No issues prior to 1.3.

I have also started seeing people in places where they aren't. A guy appeared to be at the huttball spawn at mid so I was trying to attack him but couldn't. He then slowly moonwalked backwards until he appeared at his actual position up on the ramp.
