  1. And if you read anything I said before, I said I don't think the Operative is terribly OP. I just think its CC needs to be toned down a very small bit to be more on par with everyone else.

If Ops CC gets toned down to be more on par with everyone else does that mean Ops will get knockbacks/pulls to be on par with everyone else in that department?

  2. Get lvl 50 before posting here. Assassin knockdown doesn't cause full resolve.

Equally geared and smartly talented players can get up, cc, run, dot, kill an Op. What you want is brackets. when more people hit 50 and get champion gear or better, Op QQing will be the thing of the past.

Concealment specced Op whining will be a thing of the past once people are geared enough to not be burst down as fast and to make healing more effective. Then people will whine about Ops healing being OP and how OP Ops are with their OP hots. I don't think people are going to like being flashbanged by a healer rolling hots only to have them runaway and restealth assuming they can't just cloaking screen.

I'm playing concealment atm because its incredibly fun, but I also plan on respeccing for healing once burst damage isn't as effective.

  3. What utter rubbish.

I had to do a bit of research to back up what I thought existed in the game and it does. It wasn't a feature from launch but if you look up "Ascended Courage" you will find that it is a buff that increases the stats of characters who are in the first 7 levels of a bracket.

  4. In Alderaan I'll give MVP to someone if they partner up with me to defend a node. Whether both of us are stealthed or the other guy sits out as bait and I jump whoever jumps them, they are usually the ones who made my warzone experience more enjoyable.
  5. I thought I heard a rumor somewhere that one of the benefits of the legacy system might be new race/class combos and as a result I've been avoiding alts more than I would otherwise. I don't want to get a Human Trooper alt up to 50 only to have them release the details of the Legacy systems and realize I had a high enough Legacy level to make a Twilek Trooper for instance.

If I sound like I'm whining that is not my intention. I'd just like to be able to make a more well informed decision about the future of my alts.

  6. Rift has brackets and from what I saw it looked like a bolstering system as well to some degree as I was able to play at the beginning of a bracket but not dominate completely at the top end of the bracket.
  7. Ganking requires about 0% skill when you have about 0% chance of losing that fight.

"Hey guys, let's go to Las Vegas and gamble at that casino where we always win, we have 0% chance of losing." Fun?

Retiring before I'm 30 sounds very fun to me.

  8. Seriously people complain about anything. Everything is wrong for some people.

They complain about the IA/Smuggler but when it gets nerfed they will complain about the BH, then the Inquisitor and after that is because the game has no addons...

    Just play the game!

I play a Bounty Hunter. Yesterday a IA Operative 3 shotted me in hutball. I have 16k+ hp and full champion gear and he killed me easly.

Was it frustrating? Yes it was. Was he lucky? Yes he was because he critted every blow.

Is this usual? No it isnt. It was the first time really. And in that match i manage to kill him twice too.

As a Bounty Hunter Mercenary (arsenal spec) i have a hard time with Sith Warriors/ Jedi Knights because i lack the tools to keep them at distance. If my jet boost is on cooldown i'll have a hard time with them because i cant kite.

Now, should i open a new thread asking to nerf Jedi Knights/Sith Warriors?

Vote 1 for yes, 2 for no and 3 to go back to *insert mmo name here*

I vote 1 for yes. Its six in the morning and I have 5 hours until servers come back up and 1 hour until Subway opens for breakfast. I'm bored.

  9. The Republic isn't the side of good. My Empire toons spend their time fighting criminals and gangs while my republic characters spend all their time fighting people who don't want to be ruled by the republic. It's much easier on my stomache to just be all bad then to try to be good while actually being pure evil. How did that illusion stick with you after you targeted a mob and it was called "seperatist freedom fighter"?

How many slave revolts do you put down by the time your level 20?

  10. Is there any plans to balance pvp more? Currently the empire ALWAYS wins. And this only has gotten worse. Because the empire always wins they are now fully geared some even have battle master gear. While most of the republic are still in quest blues and greens trying to get champion bags with gear in them.

To make matters worse, the Empire are now joining in as guild groups of nothing but fully geared players the republic has no chance. Granted there are a few players on republic that are now also doing guild only groups which is making the republic Q times even larger unless you manage to get into one of these groups. Its too late to make the two sides more even the empire has already got all the gear... Unless they give some sort of bonus for being republic extra commedations to help you gear up. Warzones are going to now and for ever suck and be ruled by complete Sith Heads.

WAAAAAAHHH! The other faction is more geared than me! WAAAAH!!!

Get geared up, get organized, and win some games.

  11. In the 60s and 70s boys wanted to be Superman or some other good guy saving the world from evil.

Now you find the majority of young males in these MMOs (PvP anyway) want to be evil characters fragging innocent people in video games.

What changed? Was it Gansta rap and the ghetto ethic?

It probably comes from the oversaturation of good guys in a lot of RPGs especially in the NES/SNES/PS1 era. I wouldn't think it would be as relevant now with it being pretty common for MMOs(WoW, CoH, WAR, SW:tOR) to have "good guys" vs "bad guys"(or in the case of Rift religious guys vs science guys) or for a lot of computer RPGs to have a sliding scale of morality.

I've played enough D&D with immature d-bags who just want to act like idiots to have a disdain for playing the bad guys myself.

  12. I play Empire because my gf and my irl friends decided to go Imperial. I personally am not a big fan of the Sith or BH story lines from what I've seen so far and while I do like the Agent storyline/class I think the Smuggler has superior aesthetics and animations.

I can barely stand most of the dialogue. 90% of the NPCs you talk to are either pretentious egotistical dark robe wearing d-bags or nazis. After having to put up with fracking Darth Zhorrid I was hoping that the Double Agent story line would actually let me swap factions with my Agent.

  13. Probably because the Republic gets to work on the strategy in the other two warzones 24/7, while its basically a new experience for most Empire players when they finally get their feet in the warzone.

Empire doesn't get to see Alderaan/whatever the other one is all that often. I personally dislike Huttball as a level 21 Operative with stealth and no knockbacks whatsoever. I would kill to get the other warzones more often.

  14. ANyone still waiting on getting in should probably do any windows updates or upgrade any necessary components. I got my invite today and started my game and holy crap am I not used to MMOs actually running slowly. Now I have to wait for windows updates. :(
  15. I really don't think anyone chooses factions based on this kind of thing

I was pretty much 99% set on Smuggler after seeing the first few seconds of the progression video and the ability of the aesthetics to capture the nostalgia of the original trilogy for me.

This isn't saying that this is the case for everyone. I don't think people outright admit that their view is shaped by it but I believe it is influenced by it. People raised on the original trilogy are familiar with Han shooting first(or the whole Deathstar/Contractor issue raised by Clerks in Return of the Jedi) and that the Republic wasn't just the squeaky clean good guys. People raised on the prequels are probably more prone to have a more black/white view of the Republic/Sith.
