  1. The only reason this game is successful is because it's Star Wars. If it wasn't a sequel to the beloved KOTOR series and a part of the Star Wars universe, this game would've been killed off.

The gameplay is generic. It copied and paste the WoW formula, and added a minor twist.

The only thing TRULY worthwhile is the story.

This game barely survived less than a year after launch, and was saved by F2P.

It's pretty much full of unrealized potential that BioWare Austin continues to ignore.

  2. Last I checked, they never promised solo versions of operations.

That was an assumption on your part, which turned out to be inaccurate.

Operations are supposed to be group-affairs. Period.

Even so, Bioware caved in and made it possible to finish the story by offering an alternative. Nowhere it is ever stated that said alternative, in both grandiosity and majesty, would be equal to the operation.

    Apologies, but you sure were.

Again, by going solo, you knew you'd be SKIPPING the operation altogether and everything pertaining it. You may not like the outcome now but it was inferred to say the least.

They gave a solo option for Blood Hunt that gave the same experience as the group option, same with the Battle of Rishi. Where does it say that I was skipping it? I didn't know that I was skipping it, I thought I was going to be running a solo mode of the operation. Nowhere does it say that I'd be missing out on content ffs. Aren't flashpoints group affairs? They did solo modes of them.

  3. Not really.

People are given a choice. It would seem that in your case, you went for the easiest route; however, last I checked, no one forced you to.

By skipping the operation, isn't it FAIRLY OBVIOUS you'd be missing everything pertaining it?

Not trying to provoke or slam here but merely pointing out a fact.

Again, IMHO, it was fairly obvious from the get-go that you would miss some stuff by SKIPPING altogether the operation.

Regardless, now that you know, you can always do it again with a different character.

It said 'SOLO'. I already said that I figured there'd be a solo version of the operation, but was ended up with a disappointing cutscene in it's place. They have solo versions of Blood Hunt and Battle of Rishi, why not the Temple of Sacrifice? No one forced me to do it, but I wasn't given much information other than misleading descriptions.

If I had known I would be getting more out of the story if I chose to do the actual group operation, I would've done it in a hearbeat. I didn't choose to 'easy' option just to get the story over with.

  4. There wasn't much of a clarification as to what would happen, so those who go the solo route are ****ed over when it comes to a fulfilling story.

Option 1 (Operation): "Take an elite group from your own faction into the Temple of Sacrifice to stop the ritual."

Option 2 (Solo): "Inspire cooperation among the Empire and Republic and make one combined effort to make the final push against the Revanites to stop the ritual."

I'm sure you can guess which one seems better. There was little to no information other than those descriptions.

  5. So I reach the final mission 'The Enemy Within' and I'm given two options: Use the combined might of Imperial and Republic forces to stop the ritual (solo) or go directly into the operation and stop the ritual yourself (operation). Of course, since the game just launched, I figured there'd be a solo version of ToS. I chose the solo option and was given dailies to complete... Okay, I'll just finish these quests and move on to the solo operation. Nope. It just skips a major part of the main story and I'm given a small cutscene in it's place before moving on to finish the story after an anti-climactic build-up of events.

After scouring through videos on youtube, it turns out you get more out of the story if you go with the operation. More conversations, scenes, etc.

Seriously, BioWare? You couldn't make a one-time solo version of the operation? You had to just have us skip it if we choose to solo it?

I finished the last mission and realized that I missed out on the climactic build-up. gg.

Edit 1: For those of you who haven't finished the last mission. Choose to do the operation. More fulfilling that way.

  6. Simple.

    1. Just because you gained the title 'Darth', 'Master', 'Commander', or whatever silly thing, doesn't mean you're automatically one in-character.

    2. Teenagers don't become Jedi Masters or Dark Lords of the Sith.

    3. If you're in the middle of Imperial space, don't expect to get away with threatening a Sith. (spoiler: you'll probably end up getting your character killed)

    4. If you're a non-force user against a force user, you're always at a disadvantage. Deal with it.

    5. Don't expect people to take you seriously when you're an overemotional Jedi that tries to get into everyone's pants.

    6. Real Jedi don't draw their lightsabers as soon as someone annoys them.

    7. Sith aren't strippers or cute dancers, most won't take you seriously.

    8. Level does not matter in roleplay. No matter what. That same Smuggler with the same TM-59 blaster has just as much of a chance to melt your face off as you do.

    9. Mandalorians don't get special treatment in the Empire, they're only allies/pawns and are rarely considered as citizens of the Empire.

    10. Don't think you can get away with breaking a law in the middle of facilities that belong to certain factions. (Ex: Attacking a person in the middle of Carrick Station.)

I'll probably add more to this list over time.

  7. New experience just popped up on Ebon Hawk.

Four Mandalorians thought it'd be a good idea to pull their weapons on a Sith in the middle of Vaiken spacedock.

My Imperial Soldier came up to them along with other IC soldiers (considering it's an Imperial station, which makes sense) and demanded that they put down their weapons. They went on to say that the Sith and I were godmodding and that they want us to go to Korriban and duel there because they claim that RP is '50% PvP'. After they continued to refuse to suffer IC consequences for their character's actions and pretty much made everyone fed up with them, my Imperial Soldier ordered her fellow (IC) soldiers to open fire at the defiant group of 'Mandalorians'. Everyone /ignored them and my Imperial Soldier was quickly commended by a group of Sith.

  8. Oh, no! Looks like we privileged white males finally triggered oppressed victims.

(You can do whatever you want in RP, just don't expect people to get along well with someone who thinks that being an eighteen-year-old Jedi Master with 5 kids is good roleplay.)

  9. It's done when it's done.

They propably released the Humble Hero set because it was done and will release the Exterminator set on Tuesday.

If I'd open a new thread for every time I ask myself when the Temple Guardian armor is released, this forum would crash down. So: It's done when it's done. Soon.

When an item/set is up for preview, it's already done. They're simply holding onto it until a later release.

They're not further developing the set.

  10. Manaan is returning as a location for a flashpoint, as well as Rakata Prime (Lehon).

More planets are definitely on the way, especially with 3.0 being the next 'Makeb-like' expansion.

  11. Ya know.... maybe people could try to help you if you gave more detail other than "I can't get on SWTOR".

    Food for thought.

What are they able to do? Server list doesn't show up, stuck on loading screen, manage to get on ONCE but I'm frozen in place and the connection says it's dead even though my internet is working just fine.

  12. As soon as the hourly sales came live, wasn't able log into a toon at all. Never happened before. /whine /complain /cry

Edit: Yeah, impossible for me to get in at this point. Just won't let me hop on a toon.

Edit 2: Yuuup, been unable to log in all day. Some sick joke.

Edit 3: Only day this has ever happened. What a coincidence.

Edit 4: Still having connection problems to SWTOR right now. Only freaking day this has happened too.
