[Terror From Beyond =/= Tier 3]

That looks like a gear upgrade to me. What is the problem?

 

DId someone say there was a problem? I asked when we might see Tier 3. Stop trolling.

Tionese/Columi/Rakata, were all sub-tiers of Tier 1 PvE gear. Tier 2 began with Campaign (which is a sub-tier of tier 2 gear), and will continue with the gear drops from Terror From Beyond.

According to this post from Allyson Berryman on the Dev Tracker, the new gear from Terror From Beyond, will NOT be tier 3. Instead, it will be a sub-tier of Tier 2 gear.

 

I talked to David Hunt (Systems Designer), and he shed some light upcoming gear. He said that (for PvE), Terror from Beyond's Hard Mode will include a new set of gear that is a sub-tier of the larger tier that started with Campaign gear. It will also have non-slot restricted armornings. Nightmare Explosive Conflict will speed up the acquisition of the new set and provides new challenges for Operation groups.

 

As part of a progression raiding guild, this worries me and makes me wonder when we might be seeing a new tier, new set bonuses, and new visuals (Tier 2 is quite unpleasant). Some time in December or in 2013? Joveth or Allyson, could we get a Dev response as to when we might possibly see a real Tier 3 set of gear?

Please dont flame, im just a worried guild+raid leader that wants to keep his group of raiders together. Something that some of you will understand, continues to be increasingly hard when content comes at a slow pace.

You just took for granted that you'd get the daily comms for each of the tier 1, 2 and ops daily. It's possible that you only get the daily from one of them each day, making the total amount 35 per week (or 21 if its 3 per daily, Its kinda blurry).

I assume there is still gonna be a OPs Lockout, so that you can get 15 on Tuesday but only ten on Wednesday for example. Makes an additional 75 per week, still one additional piece of gear or two Implants per week is a nice boost.

 

Well, but you have three diff story mode ops to complete. So... you can do at least that daily, 3 times a week.

I LOVE playing this game. I am critical of it, but I dont plan on going anywhere. This is the game that I like, and that I want for to succeed.

If you watch the 1.3 preview video with Ohlen, you will see that by completing the Tier 1 daily, Tier 2 daily, and the Story Mode LFops daily, you can get 15 Black Hole coms per day. 105 coms per week, if you were to do each of these on a daily basis.

 

If you add the existing ways of getting commendations a week (86), you are looking at almost 200 Commendations a week.

 

Full Black Hole set is 495 coms.

The Group Finder daily quest for Hard Mode Flashpoints in Game Update 1.3 gives Black Hole Commendations.

 

Blackhole commendations are going to be obsolete for many people that have been raiding in 1.2. Why not add something else? A low chance to get an awesome speeder/mount as a reward. A special color crystal that ONLY has a chance to be awarded for completing the random LFG? A special social gear set, whose pieces have a low chance to drop through the LFG as a reward?

 

Im thinking back to WoW and how they had to offer something extra in their LFG (mounts, pets, gems).

Fortunately, we don't have that issue and things run smoothly throughout, even taking 7 trials on a run.

 

I doubt your way is the best for every group composition.

 

Your guild didnt even down Kephes HM till May... not that good for a "Top progression guild." Aso, you have three tanks and didnt even know how taunt actually worked in SWTOR.
