  1. Pretty sure he's not trying to hard control is his opponent. He's soft controlling him with a snare instead of a stun. I don't see how he's opening himself up to being kited more this way.

It really depends on playstyle imo. He's a pressure player and utilizes his limited focus on pure damage than hard control mechanisms -- much like the playstyle of Marauders. This works well with having a pocket healer. And can even work well solo if you have the gear to put out massive numbers.

Opening with the knockdown isn't exactly all that great anyways. It lasts 2 seconds and subject to the 1.5 sec GCD. So you're really left with only a .5 sec window, sans lag. I can see wear opening up with a Force Slow can be more beneficial at times.

** The one benefit to hardstuns is if you plan to use positional attacks. He clearly states he never uses maul so snares probably work out better for him.

  2. I don't understand why you can't kite with Jaessa when it hits the fan as well. Same concept, you lock in his aggro and and snare and kite. Jaessa even has a snare ability to help you in kiting.

Am I missing something? Why is Vette better for kiting?

  3. I wont pretend to be an expert on any other class (nor Sentinel for that matter) but you seem to say that as if to suggest they have all of these wonderful things on top of what we have. They don't. What they gain in 'utility' we make up for in specialization. In fact, I'm pretty sure we have access to plenty of stuff that they do not.

Here are just a few of the things you might not be taking into account that are, in my opinion, major advantages to the Sentinel class,

    - In-combat runspeed buff.

    - Two invulnerabilities (one through talents) in addition to our many other defensive buffs and debuffs.

    - 15% damage/healing buff to your entire party.

    - Healing debuff.

    - That "inferior" vanish that is usable 4x as often.

If your point is that the Sentinel's lack of utility is countered by their specialization in damage, then you just emphasized my point. Our sustained damage is marginally better than other classes. Our burst damage is not any better than other classes -- in fact, I'd argue it's worse.

Ergo, hybrid classes have utility on top of matching our damage. The few utility abilities that we get are inferior in every department. The ones that are actually decent are situational at best, i.e. force camo.

  4. The problem is hybrid classes do just as much damage with far superior utility.

Example: Scoundrels have tons of CCs, stealth, superior vanish, 30m range options, HEAL, ranged instant AOE on a 6sec CD, AND do equal amounts of damage (if not superior).

So it's not L2P. Sure some people finish warzones with good results as a Sentinel... but let's get real here. Those same players would most likely do exponentially better with any other class.

Also, I find all the counter-posts that claim they **** with sentinels (there's even a thread posting warzone scoreboards) pretty humorous. Love it when Sentinels think they are unstoppable wrecking balls when they are oblivious to the multitude of healers spamming heals on them. Or could it possibly be that you're not that great and had a good draw and went against really bad players? Hmm nah, feeding your ego is the more logical answer. Amirite?

  5. If you want an easy 2,5k as combat just use Inspiration and a trinket if you have one (for example Centurion Trinket that improves crit and surge on use). Then use Precision Slash and Bladestorm, on most classes it hits for 2,7k+ then with average gear.

Make sure you don't waste it on tanks or guarded people, the damage number would be much lower.

I'm getting Invincible very often recently and sometimes Immortal (while solo-queueing).

Um, pretty sure Precision Slash has no effect on Bladestorm. It already bypasses armor.

  6. Charge > Zealous Strike > Blade Rush > Force Scream (will crit cuz of Blade Rush proc) > Crippling Throw (to root again) > Precision Strike > Master Strike (root cuz of talent)

After that opener, I'll snare or Force Stasis to open up CDs again and repeat if necessary. I also use Force Camo offensively to close gaps if necessary. RIsky but thats how I play.
