  1. Nice simulation, and I agree for the most part. I would add that another reason for the "bitterness" is that one of the major places we experience PvP in this game, especially for new players, is in playing Huttball. That map is fun, but let's face it, it's murder to knights/warriors. Somehow Bioware has managed to come up with a Warzone which is a significant part of the game for us, but in which my sentinel and my marauder get bounced around like pinballs (and we have no significant counter to it). I can be insta-killed quite frequently by push/pull/stunning me into the traps, and I have no ability to do the same to the other classes. Take away this one Warzone, and I think there would be a lot less dissatisfaction.

Of course, if you take a more team-oriented approach to the map, I think you find out that the sentinel/marauder can be very effective, and you can frequently be the MVP for your team, even the numbers don't show it, and the rest of them don't even realize it. ;)

Oh yeah huttball is rough :-( Again I end up shielding the ball carrier(giggity) and taunting whoever attacks him. The medals often roll in pretty quick. But if you actually spec dps I can imagine it's pretty difficult to get anything done.

  2. I appreciate your graphic OP, very well put. Allow my to offer an alternative solution.

You're a guardian not melee dps. Drop guard on a healer or a ranged or anyone really that's getting focused by more than one enemy. taunt the **** out of the enemy melee so they do less damage to your friends, and you get valor at the same time. Use your AoE slow with impunity so your melee can stick and move.

I know we all want to get kills, but this game is kind enough to reward the above actions in warzones, so I do it. There's been plenty of times where I'm one of only 2 people with any protection rating in a warzone, and that seems silly. It's a team game, remember remember.

That's my 2 cents. Keep in mind my highest character is only a 26 Sith Warrior so I am by no means an expert, these are my observations thus far.

  3. Other TL;DR version:

Epeen is important to me and if it's taken away I have very little to be proud of.

I agree with you OP and I have a solution. Just prior to nerving content, Bioware should place a gigantic ***** icon over each character that cleared the content already (Display optional of course for those of us that have cleared the content but feel no need at all to show it off). That way when people see you they can immediately identify you as a person with incredibly fragile self-esteem who hides behind a thin veil of ultra-confidence.

Also: /me casually directs all this WoW discussion to blizzard's forums where people might still care about that game's content.
