  1. If the rankings I gave were any indication, I do like a good twist and action thrown in.

If thats the case, Consular story most probably won't be for you.

I actually enjoyed it; finding Part III the most interesting part of stories I've played so far. Particularly the ending. Its wrong to say the Consular saves the Order, they save the very Republic itself.

  2. I would replace it with a skill that partly removed the health penalty from Consumption.

    or

A skill that reduced the cast time of a single target heal by say 0.5 to 1 second.

    ;)

In all honesty, I never used the skill, possibly a skill to increase companion defence for 20 seconds or something non game breaking but useful in PvE.

... Which would be useless for a Shadow. Unity is a Consular ability, not a sage ability. Whatever the replacement it should be useful for both AC's

It was a good defensive cooldown as I was leveling those last few planets, will be sad to see it gone.

  3. If you want to go for FOTM, Marauder seems to be what everyones complaining about.

There is also a growing chorus stating that the Tanking spec of the Assassin tree is getting up there. But FOTM classes will be nerfed; and if your a slow leveler, that FOTM class may be nerfed before you reach the rated battlegrounds. Healers are always needed and tank specs can be useful in certain setups.

  4. Thanks for impressing us with your first hand experience. How's that lvl 20 shadow doing?

You know I havent updated my signature since the first day of the early access, proberly should. And I was speaking in terms of a gunslinger; ranged is our domain. It'd be like the Guardians shared tree allowing you to use two lightsabers.

  5. So I started a consular and am now lvl 24. I have just finished Nar Shadaa. I was sick of the storyline after "shielding" the first jedi master only to find there was another one on Nar Shadaa. I thought, fine i can deal with one more.

NOW i have another freaking 2 jedi to go shield! I'm sorry devs did you run out of ideas after the second planet? Or did u just think repeating the same thing over and over again is fun?

This is by far the worst and most boring storyline I have played so far. If you're into the game for the story and you want to play a 'consular', I'd recommend going sith and leveling an inquisitor.

Three, actually. Or four depending on the choices you make. Story gets better though

  6. So many people raise objections to the way the consular story was told. We have heard heaps about what people dislike about the story, but it dawned on me; as I was thinking what the next part of the story would be about, what were the parts of the story people enjoyed the most?

    For me, it was Corellia.

The battle leading the armies against the guardian holds, defeating the children, capturing the imperial generals and crushing the Corellian council was by far the best part of the story. If part IV follows in the same vein, I will be one happy Shadow

Less diplomat, more general, you know?

So what was your favorite part of the story and why?

  7. Yeah, but assassin tanks take a while to develop compared to others, get their healing companion late (unless you actually want to use annoying droid), and have lots of procs/buffs to watch for. Though once you get your abilities, they get pretty beastly, able to tackle things and walk away with near full health thanks to the heals, allowing them to use DPS companions and still have squat for downtime.

PT, on the other hand, is a lot more straightforward and you get Mako as your first companion.

Agree with the development, they're really boring to play till you get to lvl 40.

But if you roll Shadow, you get your healing companion on Nar Shadaar. I don't really call two "alot of procs". The only one you really have to watch out for is Particle Accelerate (or its assassin equivalent). Harness shadows (or its assassin equivalent) is predictable so you don't have to watch for it.

  8. I wouldnt pass up the Shadow/Assassin tank spec, the ability to sneak pass pointless trash mobs while leveling to get to that quest mob is an absolute godsend and something I truly miss when I'm leveling my gunslinger or sentinel.
  9. I know these two classes mirror each other but as I looked into the advanced class specs they looked a little different. Here are the matchups...

For PvP Damage: Jedi Consular-Shadow-Infiltration vs. Sith Inquisitor-Assasin-Deception

For PvE Healing: Jedi Consular-Sage-Seer vs. Sith Inquisitor-Sorcerer-Corruption

This isn't about the builds but more focused on the "specific" spells each one gets. Thanks!

How do you mean different? Same skills, different names, same talent trees... (examples, I mean)
