  1. Bottom line ... 4.0 gave us the changes Infiltration/Deception needed for a very long time so we could contribute the DPS that needs to be seen in Operations. The changes with patch 4.0.3 are unacceptable and need to be reverted for this class so we can roll hard in Ops in a real way instead of being corralled into having to play mando / merc classes that are less exciting/challenging like we have been for the past 3 years.

     

    When can we expect to see some action to this?

     

    I don't agree, 1 for the reason I explained on my second last post 2 because you are doign a bit too much drama on it. I 've never had problems to do HMs/NiMs with Infiltration, and as others have already written, it had worse times.

    Yep, I have heard peeps saying dumb things like "Infil should never put out more sustained DPS than balance." I understand that the classes function is not the same. But there is no sound logic behind saying that Infiltration should never be able to put out higher sustained DPS than any class. Why should one class not be able to preform the function it was created for in the game. Infiltration is a DPS spec and should be able to have just as high DPS as any other class in the game the way they continue to diminish this class is because of foolish ideas and statements that it should not be able to preform as well as other classes. Infiltration damage will always be spikey compared to DOT classes where the damage is more even during the fight but as far as saying "Infil should never put out more sustained DPS than balance." It makes me realize the kind of ignorance and bad logic that drives choices to continue to diminish this class and make changes to the game that can ruin the class I enjoy most to play any time it gets close to being a contender in the role it was designed for ... DPS

     

    Obviously, parse / theory numbers are not going to be what you see in Operations. Everyone who runs OPS knows that most melee classes are going to have a much more difficult time seeing the numbers near parses that ranged classes see in most fights. . Why are we not making changes based on operation dps numbers?

     

    Devs - When will these changes be reverted?

     

    well yes. And it's not easy like "it's a dps disci, so it has to do dps" what the..? this is not a reason. Specs doesn't just do DAMAGE..there are different types of dps and you can't group them all in only one.

  4. It makes no sense to me that hatred got nerfed and will still be lower than deception. I honestly just think that the devs don't know what the **** they are doing wrt class balance.

    Once again PVP has f'd over PVE. There was absolutely no need for nerfs for PVE content, in fact a few classes needed buffed. I don't know why they don't just make a PVP only discipline so they can balance things out for the whiners without screwing everyone.

     

    Yes and especially for Infiltration but ont to its burst for the love of god. Devs don't know really what to do. At all.

     

    This is pure incompetence.

As a infil shadow main of 4 years not just a FOTM one I think the changes were somewhat needed, There were 3 main specs that were overperforming creating a DPS spread of 10% over the lowest this makes those classes near the bottom totally undesired in HM ops etc and with NIM on the way even though they are completely viable for them would have made this worse.

     

    Even watchman the spec that they have always said is intended as the highest damage single target spec has received a 1.4-1.7% damage reduction. I honestly don't think it will be massive nerf lets say for argument sake since some put it at 2% and some at 4% so we will use 3% My best parse to date is 6569 224 7 piece mainhand/offhand a 3% nerf still puts that at 6371 which is still in a very good place PVE wise IMO still the best it's been in 4 years of the spec especially when you include the utility we bring to a party as well be it CC, stealth rez, or even our small heal with agro drop.

     

    I know people say well why not just buff the others.

     

    Well you can nerf 3/4 spec or you can boost 14 others which would be the better option from a development standpoint, the overperformers still sit in a range that will be more than capable of NIM content and it makes the others a lot more viable bringing the overall DPS spread to a much better 5% than the 9-10% we presently see between the highest and lowest.

     

    BUt you don't touch the burst side, they killed a discipline in both aspects with those changes

  6. Other people are coming in with 3-4% which in my opinion is still fine, it really just depends on how you model it. This kills deception burst in PVP now though since any gains are through additional VS. I don't see why you wouldn't ever run Darkness over Deception in Regs/ranked or otherwise now...

  7. I've seen the nerfs..and this time I'm really mad.

     

    I agree that Infiltration needed a nerf because as a burst disci (burst..yeah..) is not right that it beats Serenity in sustained dps, that's fine but you can't almost kill the burst side FFS. It doesn't make any sense.

     

    Anyway 1/2% dps loss seems a bit conservative at my eyes..Hope its' right because well it would be "fine".
