  1. lol fools...

the ingame sabers are like this: █████ it looks more like a neon color... not fruity....its .. to much yellow...

the color we want is like this: █████ this is some awesome and fruity color... less yellow

(( ive tested this with and without bloom... its still not emerald green.. without bloom it is still yellowish ..its green but not THAT GREEN ^^ ))

ive no BIG problem with it since i dont use green much.. but it somehow bugs me seeing this neon greencolor instead oof an emerald green :D

    kthnx

All of the green crystals I've used in the game look closer to the second green you have. I am curious what monitors/screens you are using and if maybe your settings are off.

  2. Lifetime subscriptions are the last gasp of a dying game - I'd actually be worried about TOR if they started offering lifetime subscriptions

Not true. I cant remember which game it was but I've seen it offered as a founder option before. I see the appeal but judging by how the game is going right now I don't see it happening.

  3. Thought I did a OK job at explaining LOL. Apparently someone thought dancer bottoms are too revealing so they tried to clean it up I guess but it looks horrible now. Across the buttocks is a square and its distorted making it obvious there is a distorted square across the buttocks.

It is hard to notice unless your in a cutscene but its impossible to miss when you are. It's so messed up looking it distracts you from anything else going on.

To the post above this one. Of course the characters looks are very important. It's very hard to get a unique look in this game and much more one you personally like. Add to that the dye system and once you mix and match enough armors to find something acceptable, you've spent a great deal of credits to simply have the game change your look to something unacceptable and forcing you to start over with another big expense.

What happens when overly religious people play video games.

  4. I am sure others are still getting pops for the other modes. I however have had only deathmatch pops since 2.6. The mode is not fun at all for me and has caused me to stop playing GSF. I really liked the other mode and if you could make pops for the other mode a bit more even I would be fine with the occasional DM. Hell give us a choice of what maps we want to play on like you do OPs.
  5. I play a variety of MMOs but SWTOR is my main game. And whenever this game is mentioned in chat channels of other games, or on other forums, the common response is "lol".

It's almost embarrassing to say you play SWTOR? Is it like this across the genre or just in certain games? Curious what other peeps have noticed.

Go to any game and mention another mmo and people will talk smack. The fact is if you don't like the game why are you here trying to incite a riot?

  6. This last patch was supposed to be a minor update, yet it took more than 2 hours to INSTALL. It went really fast up til' 95% then awfully slow. Regardless I sat through the whole thing, and after finally logging in I'm stuck in quick play mode at 99.99%!

So I deleted the BitRaider folder from the game's installation directory so the game would verify and repair any corrupted files because, unlike any other games I've played, you can't run the repair tool whenever you like. Only when the game detects a problem which is a huge flaw as you can see...

I'm just hoping this time it will patch properly, I'm also hoping whomever is in charge of the patches stops screwing around... Also that re-subbing wasn't a mistake.

The common response to bitraider issues is to try the non steaming option to see if that helps.

  7. Provide supporting information then:

    1) Your framerate numbers as reported by the game, along with the color of the text

    2) Your connection latency, as reported by the game

    3) Your CPU and GPU temperatures

    4) Your CPU and GPU usage numbers. Be sure to list per-core CPU usage, as only two of them really matter.

    5) The packet loss rate on the socket as reported by Resource Monitor

    6) Your system specs (propbably only need CPU, GPU, and RAM)

I can guarantee that not everyone says yes. Instead, everyone who is having lag and feels like responding says yes. You created a perfect storm of Confirmation Bias and Sampling Bias. People who don't have lag are unlikely to speak up just to say "No", and you're unlikely to notice or care about people who don't reinforce your belief.

Last night I was playing on Alderaan, and coincidentally, I was actually monitoring my graphical performance (had to reinstall drivers, was testing new antialiasing settings). Alderaan does push my GPU (and CPU) harder than other planets, but the framerate drops are just in the 5-12fps range, so its very minor. However, someone else did just what you described. They said the lag was horrible and asked if everyone saw it. Two people said yes. Then the original commentor said they needed to fix it. Slowly, over the next two minutes, about a dozen people reported in that they saw no lag, often with latency numbers. So, who was telling the truth? The three people who insisted that everyone had lag, or the twelve who said that a minority of people were seeing lag?

So you want me to fuel your need to be right? You made an comment and I made a counter comment. I think I will just leave the conversation.

  8. Sounds like you have been running with DPS that are pretending to be healers then. A good healer will keep you alive while still throwing out a little bit of damage.

What I was thinking too. I heal when I need to and toss dps in when I can. If your healer isnt able to heal while dpsing he/she is either really bad or not in a heal spec.

    OP:

Your comments show the type of player you are and the knowledge you have. I suggest you run with some real healers before you make comments like that.

  9. Two points:

1: Read the rest of the thread. It's clear that the lag is not coming from the server cluster.

2: You're falling into the same trap that the OP did: Balmorra and Alderaan don't lag more than other planets. However, they are larger maps and many people's PCs experience CPU/GPU stress while playing on them, resulting in frame drops which is incorrectly interpreted as server lag.

    Rules of Thumb:

Server Lag : Felt by everyone, at the same time, and in very similar magnitudes

Remote Network Lag : Felt by a large number of people, but not all. The severity of lag varies from person to person.

Local Network Lag: Felt by just one person (though randomness means that there are dozens of people seeing local network lag at any minute). Severity is dependent on local network. Players in the same area as the lagging player may be able to detect the the player is lagging. Local player sees no drop in framerate.

Display Lag: Felt by just one person. Severity is determined by hardware stress. Players in the same area cannot detect that the player is lagging. Local player sees a drop in framerate.

I can guarantee my lag on those planets is not my pc or my connection lol. Also, when I lag I usually ask in chat and everyone says yes. I rarely if ever have seen a no when I asked.

  10. Reasons to get Treek:

    * if you need a tank who holds aoe threat but doesn't break crowd control (most other companion tanks need to have certain attacks switched off to prevent breaking cc).

    * If you need a healing companion early because your chosen class doesn't get one until a lot later in the game.

    * If you like irritating furballs that never shut up.

    Reasons to not get Treek

    * If you hate irritating furballs that never shut up.

    * If you will find it frustrating to have to keep swapping Treek out for a regular companion for mission dialogues (you'll get no mission conversation or mission reputation gain from her).

At 55 I've found Treek is more useful as a tank than a healer. As a tank there's the smart aoe thing and also her self heal makes her *slightly* more resilient than other companion tanks. As a pure healer I don't think she heals any better or worse than most of the other healing companions, though maybe does a little more dps.

Worth the coins? Depends on class really, some get more out of using Treek than others.

Cause our companions add so much valuable banter! *sarcasm*

  11. Can't begin to tell you how many times player lag has either killed me, made me fall off cliffs, or forced me into a balle with a mob. This is the only MMO that makes me lag when another player is nearby. Swtor when it was a subscription only thing didn't have player lag. But ever since the F2P engine was released I have gotten nothing but player lag. I never want to go to Makeb because of this reason and for some reason Makeb is the worst. Other core worlds and fleet has tons of player lag. Jeez I lag even when another player invites me to a group.

So come on EAware, fix this problem.

Most likely your lag is coming from the server cluster that the planet you are playing on is located. I only lag on certain planets such as Balmorra and Alderaan.

  12. Seriously? I ran around on my 55 Merc BH healer and other than popping the odd heal off because no one stopped to use their out of combat heal (since I was there), it was leave Kolto Shell on everyone. It worked really well. I was majorly disappointed when taking on Major Benes. After realizing that there is a way to remove the bombs after we won and explored the room, I healed through it and one heal easily topped everyone up. Sorry you felt this way, but I just didn't see it.

In fact, you can see one of my runs in the flashpoint on my youtube channel within the next hour as it's being uploaded as I type this.

Just to reiterate, I found that this flashpoint only allowed the DPS to be more reckless during trash mobs and the boss because a healer allowed them to ignore healing up out of combat and allowed them to rush through without worrying about mechanics.

Keep in mind you are 55 and the place is a face roll for a 55. My groups highest was 43. So obviously there is a disconnect with the FP.

"Kuat Drive Yards is a new type of instance that we’re calling a Tactical Flashpoint. The main thing that distinguishes Tactical Flashpoints is that they are role-neutral – in other words, they are balanced for a combination of any four classes. This means Group Finder will match the first four players it finds, which translates into drastically shorter queue times, especially for DPS classes. If you’re level 55, you’ve probably seen this in action with the story mode versions of Czerka Corporate Labs and Czerka Core Meltdown, which are now also classified as Tactical Flashpoints."

Role neutral? The one thing they failed to accomplish was exactly that. You really do need a healer and players are seeing it. I was a healer in one yesterday and healed a lot to keep people up. Anytime I tried to dps people got upset and started being childish about not getting healed. If you are going to keep this new Tactical FP you need to figure out a better way to make the roles truly neutral.
