  1. Well, about the elevator loading, it doesn't actually load when you see the black screen.

It's quite odd why they implemented this, maybe just for the 'feel' of being in an elevator.

    Why?

Because sometimes I use an elevator and I when I get teleported upstairs, I can immediately walk away, only for a couple meters though, no black screen. Then I hear the elevator sound and get a black screen afterwards. The world has already been loaded in 1 second but I still get the 'animation'.

Other than that, I guess they try to shorten overal loading times by having more loading moments for a shorter time, instead of fewer loading moments for a longer time.

  2. As far as I know the 3 major English PvP servers are:

    Tomb of Freedon Nadd

    Legions of Lettow

    Bloodworthy

From what I've heard, Tomb of Freedon Nadd was picked as the EU PvP initiative, although a very large amount of Spanish guilds have claimed this server too, about one fourth of the players during early access guild program was Spanish if I remember correctly.

Legions of Lettow was declared the unofficial UK server so that would be your best bet.

Bloodworthy houses a lot of Scandinavian guilds.

About the Light side / Dark side, that's up to you, it's a path you choose for your character. Though I assume you're asking which faction to pick, Republic or Empire.

That's also up to you, what style you prefer, the classes are basically all mirrored so pick what you think looks best.

The consensus is that Empire dominates the PvP servers by a large amount. On PvE servers Empire is still outnumbering Republic but not too much, on RP-PvE servers the Republic outnumbers Empire.

  3. I believe the "Total Materials Needed" section of the guide is wrong. At least for Cybertech which is what I am working on.

Unless things got screwy when I downloaded it, the guide mentions needing 40 of each material to level up to next recipe. I am getting 2 XP per craft if I craft the top tier recipe per section, which means that I am using just 20 per section, not 40.

Recipe calls for 2 of each material which means I am crafting just 10 items per "level" to get 20 XP. 10 x 2 = 20.

As long as you always craft newly learned recipes, you will get 2 XP per craft for the first 20 XP. Saves a ton of resources along the way. If you RE everything you make, it costs even less to level.

This is right, the spreadsheet needs to be updated, divide everything by 2 basically.

  4. Very well written guide!

I have a question concering talent trees: I decided to go with your advice on Watchman tree.

Though I don't know where to spend my first talent points on, should I go for Watchman directly to get to Overload Saber first or go with the passives in the other trees first?

Also: Should I use Riposte when available or just wait for the GC on Slash? Slash does more damage but Riposte neglects GC.

I'd like to hear your opinion on this.

    Thank you in advance. :)

  5. Well think about it this way:

Light side Smuggler: You're a lonewolf but fight for a good cause, and credits of course. You're a free trader and respect the Republic, supporting them will only net you more profit.

Dark side Smuggler: You're a dirty criminal. It doesn't matter in what way you get your money, may it be others left for dead or steal some supplies.

You can go neutral but that's not very efficient as gear is dependant on LS/DS.

Tell me what you think about this!

  6. Most people think the Sith Assassin is a Rogue type of character, but is it really?

I still can't really decide on what class to play, but doesn't the Assassin play like a hybrid melee/Force user with imbued weapons etc.?

I'm not too fond on stealth really, I wish to play something like what they call in WoW an enhancement shaman. Imbueing weapons and occassionally throw in a Force ability.
