  1. I would rather have crew skill specific buffs for reaching 400 than making crafted gear boe. The people that argue for the boe side are only worried about filling their pockets with credits, true there will be a small portion that want it to help guildmates, but that is only good a few times as well and then useless again. Endgame raiders would rather have the buffs to help give them that little bit of an edge.
  2. Didn't read the whole thread because I got sick of the same things being vomited onto the keyboard, so if this has been said already sorry.

The problem with making everything including the rare items farmable is that you open up the farming to these credit selling sites. You think it takes a long time to farm up mats now? Wait until those businesses start paying people pennies to do nothing but farm up the mats you want to.

Happens on every game. You go out farming and there are tons of people flooding the areas these mats are. This method makes it way easier to get the mats you need without having to fight with people for it.

I for one get sick of seeing low levels toons on different games map/speed hacking to get the nodes I want and clearing out a zone in minutes.

  3. people with this attitude. are the ppl that have their take-away turn up 1 hour late and cold. i wouldn't eat at a restaurant with this kinda of peson, coz you know your food will be spat in. they call up customer services F'ing and blinding, then wonder why nothing is fixed. i'd love to know what you get done? you really think your attitude will change the work practice of a comapany as big as EA and BW? coz the only change you will help make is this kinga change.

    i can see it now.

Dev A) lets tell the community about patch 1.3

Dev B) lets check, check and check again that we can deliver everythng we want, or (bad attitude poster), will cry again

Dev A) good point. out of our 1.7millions subs the last thing we want to do is upset the (bad attitude poster), he might flame us and call us liars again, last time i couldn't sleep for weeks

Dev B) better idea lets not say anything at all, lets release the patch notes, the day the patch comes out and have that as all the warning of the changes we plan on making

forum community) thanks (bad attitude forum poster), now we understand what you mean by you get things done, because you've gone and done it now

because in the real world. you talk to ppl like sh*t, you get treated like sh*t. you talk to some1 like a human and in general you find their happy to help. although i wonder do you really walk around with the attitude you portray, or do you just let the darkside come out when you have the protection of anonymity hiding behind you monitor?

get things done. lol get real

This is exactly what I was talking about. By the people crying and calling the devs names we won't see any patch notes, except for the very base of ideas. Things that take no testing and are very trivial. The big things we won't hear about. I for one understand that bugs and the like can escape notice and make it into the game. I also understand that things happen and may only get noticed just before release, causing them to have to push back the release of it. Things happen. Crying about it won't (yes, I said won't) change anything.

Say the 30 people here unsub, for one I will be happy to see you leave. You aren't welcome here because you bring my play experience down. How do you do that? You make the devs and forum mods not want to give us news about stuff and you drive other newer players away.

You asked if I am happy with the way the game is now? For a brand new mmo, yes, I am very happy with it so far.

Do I think it should be polished and shiny like more established mmo's that have been around for years? No, that won't happen for years.

I am not happy with cold food when it gets to me. Do I sit there like a spoiled brat jumping up and down calling the waitstaff and chefs names because it's cold? Absolutely not, I understand that something may have happened. I understand I am not the only person in the establishment and that things happen. I choose to say something about it so as not to offend others and still get the quality of food that I desired. A funny and weird way to go about it I know, but you know what? I get the food the way I wanted and nobody got upset.

Constructive posts make things happen, not "You lied to me!!!111!!!!11" waah.

You make yourself look like a child.

Everybody lies, yes, even you Mr. I don't like being lied to. Sometimes lies are required in daily life.

"No hunny, those pants don't make you look fat."

"The check is in the mail."

"Yes dear, I will have the dishes done when you get home."

"I'll get right on those tcp reports Mr. Boss guy."

All harmless lies that can deflect negative responses for a short time allowing you to get things done.

  4. The thing about this thread is that the forums and mod posts are going to become like wows are now. They really only respond to "fun" or unimportant threads because of people like you.

Yes, asking were something is isn't bad in itself, but the constant BW bashing is going to make it so they don't post ANY info on upcoming things.

WOW did that at first, but then when something wasn't exactly like it was posted they were flamed for months about it.

Now they give just the most basic info and say that's what you get. I don't blame them. Why would anyone want to read 25 pages of the same people calling them idiots.

I have a grand idea, if you can do better and keep 100% of your customers happy put out your own game. I would gladly pay and play.

Sometimes things happen, deal with it. If you can't then there are always options for people like you.

Was I disappointed at some of the things that weren't EXACTLY like they said? Sure.

Am I going to be a baby and cry about it for months on end? No.

I going to play the hand I was dealt and hope for a better one next deal.

  5. i got the sound bug for the first time the other day..lasted a few hours , done and gone now.. other than that my game play since launch has been probably somewhere around 85-90% perfect, few bugs but nothing major

I get a sound bug that makes the voice actors sound go away, but that's only after an insane amount of playtime. Logged out and back in again and it went away.

  6. A couple things I see wrong with what people are saying, if said by others I'm sorry, but 83 pages of whinning gets annoying.

People blaming BW for class imbalance shows your lower intelligence. It's a player created issue, BW can do absolutely nothing about that short of banning people from making certain classes on certain servers.

About the account wide legacy thing. I am 100% against this. I was upset to find that I couldn't get multiple last names for all my toons on one server, if I had to have the same name on every server I go to it would be horrible.

When people say they are not finished with the legacy thing, they don't mean they put out an unfinished piece of work. It's called slow release. Most games do this, like releasing half of a raid at first so that those power guilds don't clear everything in 2 days. It's meant so that not everything is released at the same time so that there is something to look forward to or improve on BW's part.

Can't remember where I read this, but like someone said in another thread.

If people are given a magic hat to give them their ultimate gaming experience they would complain about the color of the hat.

  7. I think you haven't spend time analyzing how item budget is spread around real gear and you seem to ignore the difference between an additive source of DPS and a proportional one... When you do the effort on calculating how much each point of power increases your DPS and how much each point of crit do... You will realize that Main Stats are carefully designed as your main source of BOTH and that "cooked" stats like Power or Crit Rating are there to alter slightly the bulk of your Item Budget to favor builds reliant on Crit mechanics from the ones were Crit is just a DPS booster.

The question is... Why to waste a flexible slot (Augments) into something you will have to already unbalance when you try to correct Overaccuracy or Overalacrity?

If you really do the effort of distilling your options to dump away Acc or Ala... You discover you have 2 ways at the ENH layer:

    - The very inneficient Surge + Crit.

    - The highly efficient Surge + Power.

So the net change you are doing is transforming Ala/Acc into Surge PLUS something else.

Then you have the MOD layer that allows you to freely change between Crit & Power following a 1 to 1 ratio.

Tell me... What's the point of ignoring 1 of the contributions to Crit Chance (Main Stat) by overloading yourself with Power if later you will be forced to use plain Crit Rating? Both magnitudes (Power & Crit Rating) that aren't boosted by Proportional Stat increases (5%, 11% or even 15%)?

Is that hard to understand that a character that maximizes his total Main stat will always enjoy a higher "effective" item budget?

At the end of the day... Some1 using Main Stat over Power+Crit will have the same crit than you PLUS more bonus to damage because, to reach the same Crit chance he will have used effectively 2 independent contributions so he will be able to convert Crit Rating to Power at the right place (Enh & Mods).

(The above reassoning is stricly from a DPS PoV that, OFC, also includes minimize Endurance during this process. Effective "Augmenting" for tanking is more varied and for some tanks Endurance is also a mitigation contribution, which makes things even more complex)

EDIT: I hope I don't need to highlight the fact you you can't help stacking Surge, which, in turn, makes a must to add a decent level of Crit Chance so Surge is not wasted unnecesarily.

I agree with this because it sounds smart.

  8. As far as sniper/slinger debate, they are exactly the same. Keeping 2 weapons upgraded can be a pain, but I fix that by crafting myself 2 augmented lvl 19 pistols. Cheap to make and you will never have to replace. the comms saved by not having to upgrade armor can be put to mods for your gear. Oh, I also got all the low level augmented gear so that freed up all those comms from chest/pant upgrades as well.

I have a scoundrel as well and love it also. It was a bit different than playing my Op, but that was mechanics (because they are exactly the same), it was because it just felt different and tough to get used to. Now that I am used to it I love it.

I would think that just like the sniper, a slinger would be the easiest to transfer from pve to pvp. scoundrels for a pve build lack some key survivability talents in the tree. Whereas a sniper can give up the surviving talents and just not be were the fighting is.

Armstech is good for smugglers because they can make the barrel upgrades and the weapons themselves. Saving you tons and tons of cash. Augmented weapons are still going for a boatload on my server.

  9. The funny thing about this thread is that you can pretty much see every single class saying the same thing about themselves. We are nerfed every other class is OP. I play a commando and do fine with it. You just have to play defensively. If you see someone coming get the hell away. Every other class can be taken down just as fast as commandos can.
  10. Give me a break ok.

Only thing snipers do is spam snipe and ambush.

You obviously know nothing about commandos or this game.

I only asked you what class you play so you would understand there is

no "skill" involved in this game. It all amounts to spam. Only class that that I

will say is hard to play is defensive Guardians in which case they have to use

almost EVERY single skill they have.

Come here trash talking and trying to tell me about a class I play? Then saying

the class you play takes "skill" ok...snipe snipe snipe snipe...ambush snipe

Spec specialist? That tree is more useless than all of them. Saying that is further proof you have no clue...

But I suppose I shouldn't have started responding to someone using the word "noob" to begin with.

For commando players, at the moment, I recommend going heals for PvP.

I just respecced to it and it's actually not so bad. You may have a solo issue outside PvP

but should be fine if you have Aric geared up. I geared Elara and Aric up for solo switch off.

Obviously you never played or understand lethality spec. That takes skill.

  11. Commandos and Mercenaries are amazing. The problem is you, not the class.

Oh, and OF COURSE people attack a high-damage ranged caster class. What did you expect? It's the job of tanks to defend you and your job to learn to defend yourself.

Exactly this, The role of tanks in pvp is to harass healers and such. I ignore them until the real threat is dead, i.e troopers and any other ranged dps.

  12. Sorry for the slow response, been playing Guild Wars 2 this weekend (it's awesome).

I would suggest going up to at least Sucker Punch if you're using this spec for leveling. If you ask me Sucker Punch should be baseline, as we got nothing besides Blaster Volley to spend upper hands on. You should go scrapper until 20 when you have Sucker Punch available, then start to flesh out your Sawbones tree.

You can really level as anything and do it fine, the leveling experience in this game is incredibly simple. Personally, I went full out Scrapper and dind't even bother to CC or stealth at all.. just me and Riggs ****** the universe.. until I got Akaavi then we started ****** the universe. With the 23/18 spec I've healed HMs (Flashpoints, OPs but I DID miss having Kolto Cloud in OPs), but I would not suggest DPSing for your group with that spec. Flechette increases damage too much over the course of a boss fight to live without.

    Very strong in PvP, however.

Short edit: I did stealth after I got shoot first; for the first 36 levels I ran forward and opened with Thermal Grenades and just sort of mowed everything down with that and Blaster Volley.

    Thanks for the response.

  13. Best bet is probably going 23/18ish. SRMP on it's own is trash, but if you pick up EMP and the 3 UH talent next to it it's alot better.

Yeah the 23/18 spec is what I was wondering about. Just didn't know when I should move into the scrapper tree, assuming from your post I should finish out the 23 in sawbones first.

  14. All the stuff I have read has come from a level 50 POV. What I was wondering was as a leveling toon (only level 16 atm) is it better to go through the healing tree fully first then move to scrapper, or mix it up?

For pugilist spec, mainly going to be pvp healing. I was drawn to this spec because it has offensive utility to help me in those situations where I get into a 1v1 fight.

I thought that going to srmp then going up to sucker punch or whatever it is called? Or is this a bad idea?

  15. and where exactly should they research this information fanbois?

We are now required to "research" these forums before anything we do in game ? Lets face it.... another bad implementation by bioware.

Someone who doesn't like to research anything, I would hate to be the raid leader for his fail talent spec, rotations and horrible gearing.
