  1. Sadly the swtor team believes that grinding for gear is content. And the only reason I can think of why Ossus is a much slower grind is because in 5.0, the gear in question was actually best in slot gear. We were forced to grind the world bosses and those dailies for the relics which rewarded us with the best gear we could get in that era of swtor. Very similar to how there is a cap now on conquest commendations, which after the initial launch in 7.0, was doubled so the grind wasn't quite as punishing.

Conversely in 6.0, iirc, the system was changed so you could basically play any content you wanted to get gear, but it was more of the same...grinding old content. There was still a cap but i think you could get fully geared in 6.0 in a matter of 2 - 3 weeks. Caveat being that to completely min/max stats it was completely RNG based so that was their mechanism to draw out the gear grind.

Anyways ossus is content from, what 6 to 7 years ago now? So there won't be enough of an uproar to ever change it, most likely.

  2. When they announced this server I raised my eyebrows a bit. Figured the devs knew something I didn't like there was a big population in that part of the world just itching to play swtor. I always thought it was strange tho because I played on ss for years and the population was getting so low that I transfered to sf. You'd think that if the apac players were playing they woulda been on the "west coast" na server considering the time zones correlate to a certain degree, and I'm sure many are/were, but not enough to give a significant population boost to ss.

So you're kind of making my point.  Why not cross realm PVP? Why not 2v2, 3v3?

I'm not disagreeing with everything you said, only that the queues shouldn't be split. The game definitely needs a different bracket and rewards for players who are more competitive ie a ranked mode. And I also agree that 2 v 2 and 3 v 3 is a much better model than 4 v 4. Although 4 v 4 with a tank/healer on both teams are insanely fun matches.

Also I've been advocating for cross server queues for a while now. Mainly because with more ppl in the pool to draw from the easier it is for matchmaker to make fair matches. Of course matchmaker needs to be fixed first regardless.

I didn't see that on WOW.  Random 2v2/3v3s popped FAST.  Had a lot of fun. The admins though, darn near Germany, circa 1941.  I didn't play rated, but BGs popped fast, 2v2, 3v3 was fast.  PVP seems popular here too, just not the way SWTOR has it functioning.

Millions of WOW players. What does SWTOR have now?  Subscriber wise? A few thousand?  Because I see the same premades in WZs and 4v4 all day long.

Pops on swtor don't take a lot of time either unless ur queueing in a big group and that's by design. Also WOW has cross server queueing, which swtor does not. It would make it easier on matchmaker to make better games if we had it, and you'd also not see the same players all the time. Which I do think you are overstating it. There's a ton of players that play during the day for me that I never see because of my time zone.

  5. Wow pvp is not extremely popular, it's mmo pvp which isn't popular at all these days, it's dead in most games.  Pops take a long time on wow. Splitting the queues up in swtor for a game that already has matchmaking issues due to the low population would be a death sentence for pvp in this game. Things definitely need tweaking but not like you've proposed. Btw the devs have already said they prioritize fast queue times over anything else, and your proposal of splitting the queues will just make the queue times even longer.

The premade thing has been debated ad nauseum in the pvp section so I'm not gonna get into it here btw.

@OwenBrooks Still not working. Tried the information in the link you provided. It would be great if this could be fixed ASAP especially before the unlock sale ends so I can get into the game and unlock some items I recently purchased. Thank you.

There are a lot more fixes in this thread there was a similar bug in late March I believe that was fixed with a patch to the game but if you are experiencing something similar have a look here. Looks like a lot of players were able to figure out a fix from the info given in this thread.

Did u try just reinstalling the game?

  8. I dont have a full 344 set so I can't give u the answer when u compare it to 336 gear but I run all 340 gear except for relics (which are 336 thyrisian) and the only stat you'll see a difference on is endurance. So you will have higher hp if you have max gear.

As far as ur second question goes it's all dependent on what class you play. I personally run a high alacrity build on sorc because I like the faster gcds. Most people run the cookie cutter 5k crit and 2200 alacrity build. Certain classes need accuracy like marauder, other classes don't but some people still run the accuracy because it annoys them to miss on their white dmg attacks. However I've seen the argument made if you don't bother taking away points from ur stat pool for accuracy you'll do more dmg anyways. So in short there's no hard and fast rule about which gold augs you use, it's really up to ur playstyle.

  9. If an 8.0 comes I'd prefer it be a paid expansion. If they need $60 for an expansion, and that money can lead to them giving us something bigger and better than they've been able to muster up these last few years, I'm all for it.

  10. Adding adrenals/stims to the rewards track is so incredibly lazy. Let's be real, pvp is much more difficult content than the pve based GS model. I understand not wanting to give more free cartel coins as that's probably what's keeping the devs in their jobs, but how about a cartel crate, or a silver/gold armor crate. I quite enjoy getting the deco packs in the GS track, those would be fine as well, all of those rewards are low effort and easy to implement. Of course I'd like rewards more tailored to the pvp season but if not the other rewards you get from seasons are fine. But no it's just face palm after face palm with these decisions lol.

From what I saw from the livestream, the new Venture system sound quite interesting and fun and B3-S1 looks cute!

However I wonder what the "limited-time" will mean on the training missions? Will it mean that you must complete them very fast and be very fast while doing them, or does it mean that the whole system will be just a temporary thing and B3-S1 will become unobtainable like past Galactic Seasons companions?

Seems fun to me, I've never done a ruhnuk daily in my life guess this will give me reason to go there and start doing them lol.

  12. I've honestly never seen a more perfect time to use the analogy "organizing deck chairs on the Titanic." No better way to describe how the devs are treating pvp lol.

The pvp ship has a massive gash in the hull and is sinking at incredible speed yet the best they can come up with is increasing the season by 5 levels and adding medpacks/adrenals to the rewards track lol it's actually insane how inept this is, bordering on self sabotage.

  13. The thing they don't seem to understand is that people who play the game because they enjoy pvp are going to finish the season regardless and no rewards are doing to change that, we simply play because it's fun to us. Their target with seasons is newer players, in an attempt to get them to try pvp and maybe they'll enjoy it, but it's difficult for new players because the mode is broken as currently constructed. The new players have voiced their opinion that the season track is already too long and grindy, so typical response from the devs is to make it longer and make the people who are there for rewards suffer even more... which will most likely lead to ppl just not bothering with it anymore.

Vet pvpers have tried to advise them on making the mode a bit more friendly to inexperienced players, but we are ignored. So the idea of seasons is great, the execution is just turning people away from playing.

  14. Honestly I couldnt care less about how long a season is or the rewards I finished without even looking at my progress. What I need to know is if you are going to fix the issues that the pvp community has been telling you about for almost two years now since 7.0 dropped? Reduce max group size for premades and do some balancing to the classes. These are the two most elementary things that you could do to make the experience better for just about everyone. Yet all we've got is radio silence...and just to reiterate it's been close to two years now. It's honestly unacceptable.

  15. As many others have stated already there are 11 different objectives each week. You can only finish 7 of them. If two of them are pvp based simply ignore them and do the ones that involve content u enjoy. The whole idea of seasons is that there are objectives for every type of player so we can all get a bit of seasons progress accomplished doing the things we like to do in game. I happen to enjoy pvp, so thanks devs for including it 👍👍

  16. The fleet datacrons you need at least 6 people iirc. Other than that I think you can do most of them solo. The Rishi datacron is faster if you have more people but it's not completely necessary. Although I would definitely advise getting at least 3 for Rishi because you have to farm grophets in 3 seperate locations and it's an all day long thing to find the one you need. So having 1 person at the 3 diff locations is going to save you a lot of time.

Off the top of my head those are the only ones I can think of that require more than 1 person. I did all of the other ones solo. I might be forgetting something tho so maybe someone can chime in and tell me I'm wrong lol.

yes I'm over half way on the season track (not very complicated) and I'd prefer to be done with season when I hit the end of the track but I still gotta do the 100 objectives, such a drag.

I'd like to finish everything in the season, that's how I (and many others) play games. the devs know this so they add grindy hurdles to annoy.

And I vehemently object to having whole lvls of the track where u only get this trash filler BS!

Did u just comment to say that u don't care about the topic so it doesn't matter to u? very helpful and insightful...

Here's where we disagree. What u are basically saying is that getting the achievement is tantamount to a participation reward, u want the chievo simply by sleep walking your way through the season. It's exactly why pvp players like myself are upset with the pvp seasons because it doesn't reward people who win matches all you have to do is queue and win or lose you can get all the rewards. In this instance yes if you really want that little box clicked off in ur legacy tab then maybe u should grind a bit more than the casual. The rep track had traditionally been achievable just by working your way through the season. However, things that were tied to the achievements have also traditionally been associated with a grind ie finishing 100 weeklies. So I don't see a massive departure in the way seasons are working here.

I do agree tho that these fragments should have a higher drop rate, because at this point the achievement seems unattainable even for people who want it.

This would not normally be a problem but the fragments do not drop for many sources of game play including PvP, GSF, and they have abnormally low drop rates for open world PvE.

The only reliable drop source for fragments is instanced PvE and fragments only for the last boss

Have the devs addressed this at all yet? I could imagine if they see nobody even nearing the objective they'll make some tweaks. Brazzes gift or whatever doesn't work either? Idc about trash or the gear drops so I hardly ever loot unless it's a yellow, but I swear I've picked up extra blueprints here and there.

385/1500 over halfway through the season... it's just ridiculously slow, typical crap game technique, got no actual content so add meaningless grind add nauseum. they already raised the irating and implant lvls without raising the entry lvls/irating. Now they add grind for grinds sake...

They can't even add decent rewards in galaxy/pvp season, just barely remodeled old skins/weapons. Clearly they have 0 intention of actually adding anything we actually want to the game.

Define what u mean by halfway through the season. Doesn't the season go for 5 months or so? Don't think we even a month in at this point. Do you mean half way through the rewards track.

Anyways on topic its a pointless grind for the blueprints just for an achievement. I'm not an achievement type person so I usually just ignore that aspect of stuff, especially if there's not a tangible reward behind it. The title you get from seasons is way better anyways, and iirc it's not tied to grinding the trash.

If this is really just 'a drop in the bucket' then why are so many posters 'up in arms' about the nerf?

My personal reaction was 'oh well, it was nice while it lasted...' but here we are 20 pages into this thread alone...

People are up in arms because it's an underhanded tactic to force more of a grind. Let's look at context, we get very little new content. 2 dungeons in the last 5 years. Every 6 months or so we get a bit of story and a daily area. So what have they done to keep players busy...gear grind. As opposed to past expansions where a new gear cap is released upon expansion and there's one grind they decided to continually increase the gear rating throughout the expansions, giving players busy work to accomplish in between the small story updates we get. How do you get gear? By grinding conquest for tech frags and conquest comms. So they raised the cap from 50k to 100k...more grind. Then as the grind was palatable with the rep token, they remove it, which equals...you guessed it more grind.

They've trained the players to grind for gear, they've trained them to play alts. Then they go and make changes that effect the amount of time it takes you to accomplish those things. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the only reason for these changes are to purposely stunt player progress in order to keep them logged into the game longer to do inane tasks. Again if there were actual content I have no problem spending all day playing an mmo. But when they've created all these systems that revolve around old content for ur char to make progress in the game....it's not a surprise players are up in arms.
