    The only thing Bioware might do (with their lack of IQ reputation), is move the 60% ArP talent to Pyrotech, kinda like what they did to juggs with smash talent. In which case there will be no reason to play PT over merc and you will get unsubs/rerolls. Knockbacks and heals ladies, knockbacks and heals.

    (Interesting considering there are already more mercs then there are PTs) probably because PTs are low on PVE totem pole.

     

    I think the chance for em to nerf operatives further instead is higher though or do both.

  2. From a DPS Perspective, a Sage/Sorc can continue their rotation and use of spells for a much much longer time before they need to worry about their resource system. That's pretty much common knowledge.

     

    Also, from what I understand you spec Telekinetics. Should really be doing Balance if you want to PvP....

     

    Sages are designed to heal themselves. Build distance, heal, attack, so forth. Not straight up stand there and take the damage.

     

    Why would anyone play a class if it was actually designed to be this way?

     

    That way of playing should be something hybrids use not fully 31 point specs.

     

    Its like saying a tank who is specced dps should just stand there and attack ... ohh wait sorry my bad.

  3. None taken. I believe that's assuming non-keybinders would perform better memorizing their keybind positions instead of making visual links on the screen. I'm willing to bet that if someone is experienced with doing the mouse thing in MMO's over the key thing, they perform just as well as anyone else.

     

    Anyways, it's a bit off track. I'm still sticking by the fact that if you are hitting taunts at the wrong time or using them when they aren't needed, it's hurting your performance. There's only so much a specific player can do in a given time. Conclusions about how easy it is to hit two buttons in 1.5 seconds or similar things aren't the whole picture.

     

    If you mean perform as well as other doing the same mouse thing sure else just NO!.

    Its like the old myth about console controllers vs mouse+keyboard, there is no controller that can compete in fps.

     

    Everytime you get a new skill you have to think about when it might be good to use? does it help your team? Does it delay my own actions?

     

    Taunt is probely one of the most underrated skill in the game and you have 2 of em that give a very very nice edge to your team and being off gcd you have no reason not to use it.

     

    Hotkey it and you will eventually learn to use it without thinking about it so its profit for your team aswell as yourself(end score).

     

     

    Im just gonna repeat the very important part of this ITS OFF GCD, there is 0 reason not to use it.

    You probably meant to write "armor doesn't do anything against 10% of the attacks" :rolleyes:

     

    You forgot to mention the great way balance also works in the game,

    internal dmg = bypass more = low value

    kinetic = bypass block parry evade = medium value

    white = high value

     

    And remember how experise works? its % based so higher value skills benefit more

     

    So yeah armor matters and the stuff that bypass are the weakest hitting abilities in the game

     

    Like the dot from Combustible Gas Cylinder(elemental) hits harder than the 31 point dot(internal) from operatives and its on all the time.

    So true, yet it makes as much sense using it as a valid argument as bw uses their metric data for balance purpose.

  6. Lol at all the people claiming its biochem buff / buff stacking that makes it happend, a certain class did the same thing with buff stacking and even when people were told all classes could do it they ignored it and still the class got nerfed over and over.

     

    Powertech as they are keep em, its already turned into tank heal wars and having a class that can actually do something about it might be better, also serves as a reminder to just how horrible the patch balance process in the game has been going and how awesome their metric data is.

  7. Starting to wonder, alot of people on this forum think that stealth is our gap closer but by that definition / logic being able to simple walk from point a to point b is a gap closer and by that statement all classes got a gap closer so we can now remove ALL leaps , pulls , forcespeed rightt?

    The change made the game into tank wars whoever can tank a door / turret longest works best in well all maps.

    Yes having a 21sec dot that interrupts on each tick was silly having first tick interrupt is in no way unreasonable.

When playing against geared players at 50 the class is a nightmare you wont make a dent in most ppl even so called light armor classes can shrug off your opener + back blast/stab and i see more and more tank / heavy armor classes + healers and its just pointless to even have a scoundrel on your team.

     

    And no matter how good a player you are if you play one your draggin your team down cause you could give more playing any other class.

     

    As for the whole 9k dmg with knockdown for 3sec yep it was overpowered know what else was? every other class in the game doing the exact same buff stacking trick to do the exact same insane dmg at the time.

     

    Now see if you can find a video of 1.2 scoundrel doing anything close to this

    without it being alot of small clips cut into one long. Now a powertech is able to produce that kinda dmg with heavy armor , taunts , pull , 25% dmg reduction shield that last 12sec and 90% armor penetration on main dmg skill , a stance that adds a dot that ticks upwards of over 1k. But i dont want to call powertech's overpowered cause my class is in a sad state i just want bw to figure out a way to make scoundrel usefull/attractive again for both pvp pve but the 1.2 nerf was just another sign showing no hope which makes me wonder why a powertech can run around and lay waste to several people with little effort yet you never see scoundrels do this and those that try and fail are energy starved insanely fast.

     

    I was always under the impressions our class had the big opener but no finisher style, good armor penetation but no utility / gap closer. They stated our class killed people to fast even though their data was with the buff stacking when everyone could do it ,so it was flawed to begin with yet still went through with the nerf.

     

    So i accepted bw would go away from the big burst which is fine if they give something in return but they didnt, actually they continued to nerf the class and have yet to this day given any responce as to why they feel the need to keep nerfing it when nobody fears it except undergeared players. Even was a guy who said he sometimes got killed by em if they got the jump on him but if he got the jump he always won with plenty of hp left. So now the class is so rare and useless when what you do is worse than everybody else in both pvp pve (exception would be healing).

  10. Tracer missile spam was never OP but the part where the more tracer ppl hitting one target the more dmg buff they all get needed to go it made pve pvp godlike ( not so much pvp ).

     

    You might think that assasin needs higher burst (they do have that) than operative to make up for their high initial burst but think about it for a sec how ofen can you get your high burst off vs a class that need stealth to do theirs and to top it off you also get a 30% hp finisher style.

     

    Im sorry i dont wanna turn this into assasin vs operative but you need to look at the overall abilities of both classes and what they add to a group and how they can best achieve the objectives of each map.

Stop saying Sentinels already, its a lie you / we dont have to keep energy above xx % , we dont have to maintain buffs , dots are added easily when off cd and is applies with pretty much all melee attack and you dont even have to worry about it running out, cause you just pop it when its off cd.

     

    Anyone who have both sentinel + scoundrel and still thinks sentinel is harder in pve/pvp please explain why.

     

    Scoundrel

    Keep dot running

    Keep power regen up

    Pugnancy up

    1 stack of upperhand.

    Armor penetration

     

    Backup healing during some fights.

     

    Sentinel

    Juyo form , passive just works no need reason to maintain or watch for it.

    Merciless is used when possible thats about it the buff lower cd thingy just works.

    Overload Saber, same thing used when its up.

    Cauterize used when possible

    pop zen when possible.

     

    Use defensive cd's as needed cloak for deaggro, inspiration for dps boost.

     

    Low on energy ? use either of the 2 skills to create some.

  12. What exactly are we allowed to do?

     

    I wonder if a fully war hero augmented geared operative is even allowed to kill a recruit geared without the recruit having a 70%+ chance of winning.

     

    Im serious though instead of the constanlty nerfing of this class, what are we suppose to be doing, who can we go after, who are we allowed to kill?

     

    A good sorc is gonna kite us around.

    Merc healer? forget about it.

    Assasin tank? no?

    Heavy armor users ?

     

    no no i got it

     

    Snipers!! it makes perfect sense evade works against most their dmg their evade skill doesnt work against ours so its win win phew almost thought the class had no purpose :o, almost forgot our cleanse also removes their dots and root.

  13. Haha yep seen it once.

     

    Attacking 1st round we got through the door and over bridge.

    2nd round their numbers started to go down untill 1-2 enemies was left and as i was healing a guy looking directly at the gate bomb was placed and their entire team spawns on 2nd spawn and just chain plant as we chain defuse untill timer ran out and we won.

     

    Do actually get alot of medals from the arm disarm stuff.

  14. Cons

     

    If they let people switch spec during warzones they can adjust to stuff like switch to tank / heal spec in voidstar for supereasy defense.

     

    Shadows can switch to tankspec for crazy ball carrier in huttball even though their main spec is dps.

     

    Civil War, Solo shadow can burst someone down in dps spec capture the turret swtich to tank spec so he can easier hold it untill reinforcement arrives.

  15. Gunslingers also got alot of cc and cc immunity shield for 20sec on 1min cd.

     

    I would say its gunslinger vs sage.

     

    Flashbang

    Singletarget root,

    Knockback with root ( no talent required )

    melee stun

     

    so its pretty much up to the sage if you spec for pure cc.

  16. Anyone actually got some parses from a raid boss encounter.

     

    Just downed Toth ; Zoth on HM but numbers seemed abit out of whack untill we can sort it out fully, but my own dps on the encountered showed 990 dps which sounds ok to be honest with backup healing during the yellow circle phase.

     

    But again untill we can get it sorted fully we wont know 100% what it was.
