  1. All thanks to the whopping Nerf bat in Jan 2012. The smash to armor pen and cooldowns was way over the top, all thanks to the river of years from the Sorc crowd.

And then the Sorcs got nerfed and unsubbed anyway, so it was all for naught.

Still got the aftertaste of that bitter pill...

Finally, someone with a bit of historical perspective responds to this thread. I feel people remembering the CONTEXT of the buffs/nerfs is useful when discussing this.

I love my DPS op in unranked. It has zero place in RWZs. If you think otherwise, I think you've been playing against poor players.

  2. Signed, signed, and signed again.

I dont know why BW doesnt let us choose which WZ to que up for. It seems ridiculous. Unlike the OP I'm not all that interested in the Star Wars Game Show Death Match(Huttball). I enjoy Voidstar and Novare Coast. But I agree wholeheartedly that we should be able to choose what WZ we want to play. There is simply no good reason why we shouldnt.

Agree 100% with this post. Let us choose what WZ to play.

Warhammer allowed us to pick which scenario/wz to q for. If only they had acquired that company and if only they had used their expertise to help them with their pvp ........

  3. I did, here is a direct quote of the response:

"We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Unfortunately, we will not engage in in-depth discussion of game mechanics or provide advice on character builds or skill rotations. We also will not provide specific information on where or how to obtain specific items or pieces of equipment."

It went on to say I could find information on forums and blah blah. But I pretty much read that, rolled my eyes, shook my head and said forget it.

Their CSR droids are really good at giving cut-n-paste answers that have nothing to do with the problem described sometimes.

I see that a number of people have revived old Voidstar threads, and started their own, so I'm not the only one irritated by the 'coinflip' / RNG victory conditions for ranked warzone play on a 0-0 tiebreak.

  4. My understanding of 0-0 voidstars is that both sides lose in 1.3.

I had a 0-0 tie, the most common type of tie, and saw the defeat message. The other team started taunting us in chat saying we "got lucky to be awarded the win" and "BS loss" ect... so it was clear their team lost too.

You are also incorrect, as we have received wins in a 0-0 Voidstar.

Still waiting for a dev comment.

  5. it was actually like that at one point lol.

Correct. For 0-0 Ties, it used to be "first defending wins".

Now it appears to be a coinflip from all I can tell. We've compared objective points, etc, and there seems no other reason other than random decision.

I would love a dev comment on this.

  6. I find that ... still wrong. So that awards the team that can just stand at the door to get more points by "defending" (sucking down the damage yet surviving) ...

Since there are no "attacker" points (no doors capped).

Ok, after reviewing our screenshots and adding up both sides objective points, you guys are wrong.

It's random. I would love to hear a dev comment on this.

  7. The problem is all three warzones have the same goal: who can stay alive the longest. With multiple healers healing eachother nobody is going to die. They can't kill anyone either but they don't need to. Eventually the few DPS on the healing side will focus down the DPS on the other team 1 by 1 for an easy victory. If we had more objectives that were about more than defense, we'd see a handicap for stacking healers, which is the easiest way to ensure victory now. I've been in game with 6 healers where even the healers start DPSing people down. It's impossible to kill anyone and it's really not fun.

Yep. Wait until people start 8man q'ing with 6 hybrid healing troopers and 2 whatevers. Then they'll finally understand that all the warzones are about CONTROLLING/STAYING ALIVE and not KILLING.

  8. Thanks for the suggestions guys. It has improved my 1v1 a bit against troopers.

What's sad is that I routinely run into premades/pugs of 4-6 troopers now on my server. Mostly all heal spec'ed. You can't kill anything. Since most of the warzones revolve around HOLDING the objectives, and not KILLING anyone, they probably win a large % of the time.

I should take my rant on how overpowered healing is in general over to the PVP forum ...

  9. I've been running into a high # of trooper premades.

Heavy armor, I have a feeling all 31/10 spec'ed, healers.

Some have the spec'ed no-interrupt bubble.

There doesn't seem to be any particular good way to fight groups of these. They can simply outheal any damage. Get one almost dead, they pop their bubble, and i imagine crit heal themselves for 3-5K repeatedly uninterruptable.

They don't have to move. They dont have to kite. They just stand there.

Ideas? Seems the only thing to do is start bringing my own premade.
