  1. Hi guys,

So I recently returned after being gone for six months. Guild is long gone. My main is a shadow in campaign/rakata as well as full WH. My question is.. Does anything still happen outside of the occasional pop in WZ? Which seems to be as often as I change underwear. Everyone rerolled on bastion already or just being inactive until (hopefully) server transfers kick in?

  2. Why am I paying for this?

In a nutshell, the toons I want to play are on a server that is all but dead.

What I want to do cannot be done in any convenient way atm.

(And by this I mean 20 min pvp que's in prime time and 1 hour ques if at all for FP's is not conveninet.)

To those of you saying toughen up and re-roll, thanks for your understanding and support :(

I feel that if I pay for a game, then I have some expectation of a reasonable playing experience but I guess thats not true.

Just struggling to stay enthused tbh

    Not waving

    Drowning

That right there is spot on and I totally agree - I think you are right to be able to demand a worthwhile playing experience. Because it does exist, just not where you are. My only conclusion is that they are afraid of getting to many people on bastion and to few 'active' servers. But do they rather lose all those players that do not want to re-roll? It is pretty black or white. Either allow people to transfer or risk losing their sub which most likely will be the case because why keep paying to log on to a ghost town?

I think all MMOs period should just have server transfers at a small cost available at all times. It is then up to the developer to properly maintain population. To populated - create incentive for people to create characters on new servers (new players).

  3. new Zeland austrailia great...

Hong Kong China...Here comes the flood of illegal hacks credit sellers and scammers

How you figure that? Hong Kong is completely separate from china. you just look ignorant posting crap like that...

Secondly... Where will they buy it? There are none official retailers selling it in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Why don't you wait with spewing racist remarks until (and if necessary) after the release?

Thank you for being one of few replies that manage to get your point across without "beating down on the lonely guy" , much appreciated and thumbs up to you, sir. I've explained myself above already, I feel like that's not something I should need to do though considering how very straight forward I was in my post. It is quite clear that Dimarch (spelling?) is unable to take critisism, which rings true to most people nowadays but in no way does that make me a bad person, for pointing out a very serious flaw, something that could in fact be damaging to newer players wanting to get some "pointers how to heal"

I think - as in many cases people might have misunderstood what you you were referring to? Eventually everyone will find their own flavor on how to play. That is also the beauty of the game. It is sort of the same as with the different builds - I am using an unconventional one. There are, and always will be different approaches. Not really saying what is right or wrong at one certain point. Sometime as a healer being in the middle of everything can also cause it to be harder to get targeted.

I think you are right with distance.. However in this video he does not need to. Dimach has recorded and showed lots of difference builds on request. I think part of your post can be misinterpreted? as just criticism and not constructive. You however provide it in this last post which would of been a better first post imo. But I think you corrected everything with your second post and cleared everything out. Props!

As with everything on internet these days you just have to be overly explanatory. Sad but true :)

  5. There's a thread called "Anchorhead best PvP server hands down" bla bla. I hope for your sake this isnt the kind of competition that thread speaks of :)

I appreciate what you are doing for this community, and mostly the new players, but lets clarify one thing - so none goes under any other impression.

This match is insanely bad, I'm not commenting on your gameplay at all - but he doesn't even have to heal, that's how pathetic the damage of his opponents is, furthermore the opponents barely interrupt his spells and they deal low damage.

    So:

    1. They have no expertise

    2. Or they are simply new players and not that good.

This is not how you're supposed to be healing at higher levels of PvP.

Great work with this thread and the videos, though. Cheers

The fact that Dimach streams most of the time he is playing contradicts what you are trying to imply here. There are a lot of people posting videos of them getting 10+ medals and totally wrecking the opposite team just showcasing. I think many people like these videos, can wake some interest in a certain build and if they want to continue to watch can check the stream.. bad match or not I appreciate a lot what Dimach brings to the board discussing builds, sharing videos and most importantly what he brings to the community as a whole.

  6. I have to say that even at level 21 Balanced, I've been able to take down some 50 BHs and a couple 50 assassins. Not exactly sure how I pulled it off, but I've been able to do it. I can usually get a 50 down to about 30 - 40% without much trouble. I imagine as I level, I'll be even better, but I think it is just finding your PvP strategy and putting it to work. Work that Line of Sight to your advantage. I'm interested in how my character is going to scale as I level, but so far I've found consular to be incredible in PvP.

My alternate is a BH Powertech Shield and while I enjoy that, it isn't as much fun in PvP.

Most likely they are not well equipped (meaning champion/centurion gear). However I don't want to take away your effort tho ;). It really becomes a big difference as soon as you get your hands on pvp gear..

  7. Yes unfortunately people equate accuracy with hit and hit caps from WoW. This stereotype/misconception is further perpetuated by our sticky class guide which Astral has refused to change for awhile now. So allow me to set the record straight on accuracy.

IT IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY USELESS FOR ANY SAGE IN ANY ASPECT OF THE GAME, BE IT PVP OR PVE.

    Here's why:

    • [*]Accuracy up to 100% increases your chance to land an ability strike on the target, before achieving 100% you can miss on a target with no defenses whatsoever. Beyond 100% it only decreases the target's defense or resistance.

[*]Defense and Resistance are PURE AVOIDANCE stats, with defense being melee and resistance ranged. That is, reducing them by having over 100% accuracy means you're simply negating the target's ability to make you miss. Having more than 100% accuracy thus will not make you deal more dmg. If the target has no resistance, additional accuracy does nothing for you.

[*]We start with 100% accuracy, meaning we never miss against a same level mob. You may have noticed a miss while leveling up and taking on higher level mobs. However the solution to this is obvious, do not try to stack accuracy and wreck your itemization, instead try to tackle content at or below your current level (which makes leveling faster anyways).

[*]Endgame Bosses are all level 50 and have no innate resistance. Meaning accuracy is without a doubt worthless in endgame PvE content.

[*]Players can gain resistance via talent choices. Most of these are Tank spec players, so saying that even a quarter of the players in PvP will have some form of resistance would probably be a gross exaggeration. Slotting Accuracy to reduce this means that you must give up stacks that increase your DPS in 100% of PvP situations on 100% of your casts (alacrity being an exception for some specs) for a stat works at best in 25% of situations. Even then the resistance gained by talents is never very high (Ex: Tankassins can gain 3% resistance to internal and elemental dmg) so the odds are in a short encounter that you will never miss anyways meaning (if you want to assume the numbers and examples I threw out are perfectly true for a second) that it would come into play on less than 1% of your casts in PvP anyways.

First things first. Khadroth - Thanks for your dedication to the board. As he sais accuracy has no use.

As pointed out above the order for your skills. Depending on build I might switch surge and alacrity. I am currently tk/balance hybrid and what in that build actually requires speed? deliverance at the most.

  8. I think what has not been mentioned so far is the insane amount of difference pvp gear will make. You might not believe it, but it really changes EVERYTHING, once you have about 200 Expertise or more.

I have now champion or centurion gear on each and every slot possible (except for the relics, for obvious reasons) and it's nigh impossible to kill me in a 2on2 with a tank that guards me. I outlive everything. I have armor, I have heal, I have mobility, I have stuns, knockbacks, interrupts, hots, it's just the way it's supposed to be.

So don't worry. You might die a lot now, since all the level 50 guys with pvp gear kill you in an instant, but once you reach max level and aquire some gear, your whole gameplay experience will completly change.

I totally agree.. In my early days being 50 I was steeeeeeaaamrolled by people in champ gear. It gets better. It can be a weary grind tho :).

  9. The issue with solving the current server queues by throwing up new servers every day might backfire. This is the biggest launch and the biggest hype surrounding an MMO ever. What will happen in one or two weeks when the early 'need to be online 24 hours' dies out?

Secondly - They really should up the limits on each server. There are several areas that are way underpopulated. Put a cap in each zone instead and if it gets to crowded (starter areas in mind, spawn a new instance instead). I am surprised by how low the server cap seem to be set. (just a hunch and have no actual numbers)

  10. if there are people at 50 already than that is a major design flaw.

Character progression should be a long term goal with a sense of achievement and satisfaction at the end of a few months game play.

Hate the new get to max level & 'end game' crowd that devs pander to, unless of course the game really starts at that point but from all the recent releases over the past few years it usually does mean end game, log off cancel.

Mainly due to lack of interactive world enviroment that allows players to create their own unique world on each server, not a mirror image of everyone doing the same linear thing on 100 servers that gets old fast

I don't think there are any 50s? But here is the thing, there will always be people (that pair up with like minded people) that will just move from place to place and grind the bejesus out of it. It is not the majority of people so I say let them play it like that. The problem you are addressing as a design flaw potentially would hurt the general 'population'. If character progression is too slow people will grow tired quickly for the reason you are stating - achievement and satisfaction.

I agree with you tho. For me I would love for it to take months to reach max level. But in a world where $$$$ is one of the few things that counts, things need to be easy and dumbed down. A game of this magnitude and costs would not dare to be completely innovative and set a new standard..

  11. We are the second class citizens of SWTOR and Oceanic customers are the third class as far as BW and their US favouring agenda goes.

Oh jesus.. For real? I am stuck in the same position but sorry.. It is a US company, someone is going to have to suffer... Just deal with it. The EGA was targeted towards NA. I am sure once things smooth out and everything is under control they probably will have separate windows for maintenance between us and eu.

  12. ok for all the mmo noobs out there i have been playing these for over 10 years, mmos that is.. there are always asian game nerds that rush to max level, on every mmo even wow when it came out when the max was 60 or do you all forget that, who cares let them be max like it even matters to anyone at all

or a Caucasian game nerd.... Ethnicity has nothing to do with it. To me, someone that spent 10+ years playing mmos would qualify in that group to, no?

  13. Ok, trust I understand this argument. I really do understand.

The problem is - how do we distinguish between people who were exploiting and people who are just really enthusiastic about warzones?

With most exploits the guilty party can plead ignorance but it is obvious they were going out of their way to exploit. In this case, I was just queuing for warzones is a pretty good defense.

So the problem is not the spirit or letter of the law. It is the enforcement. If this really is a problem I don't see anything bioware could do other than close the warzones down for now.

If you have gained X amount of levels in a short period of time.. I think it is safe to say you didn't use the system but abused it.

Whatever the number breakdown is.. I don't know... Of course the people that have abused this will come cry if anything happens.. But face it, we are.. 14 hours down EGA so resetting these people and giving them a warning is the least they should do.

  14. hah. While I don't think it deserves a ban it is clearly an exploit and the XP gained for it should be taken away and a warning should be given. It is like justifying duping money/credits that's within the mechanics of the game and nothing wrong with abusing that.

People have waited soooo long for the game to be released yet they risk getting banned on the first day.... OF EGA.
