  1. You really should be getting medals easily. Here are some that I usually/always get:

    - 2.5k single heal

    - 5k single heal

    - Delivering a killing blow

    - 75k total heals

    - 300k total heals

I mean thats 5 right there. Best of luck! And don't be afraid to deal a little damage here or there. It can't hurt.

If you're getting 300k healing every game, then the DPS players on the enemy faction are terrible. Its very easy for DPS to burst someone down with unhealable damage now. If you always get 300k healing, that is just sad as hell.

And before you say it, I know how to play. I've had 600k+ healing since the patch, but usually I'm in the 200k range, sometimes going into 300k.

  2. I was Scrapper from level 10 and never changed, then read the patch notes and figured I'd try healer. I hated healing on my Merc, but I love the Scoundrel's super mobile healing. 3 Upper Hands is amazing and I think I've used my Vanish like... twice in ~30 Warzones so far.

Definitely awesome being able to keep my team alive, though I haven't quite figured out how to burst-heal effectively, but it could just be by design that I can't save someone being focused hard.

You cant really burst-heal. You can put out some good HPS if you have SRMPx2 rolling on a target and spam UWM+EMP but getting those things going requires some setup time. If you can see the damage coming, you can keep a target up for a bit, but trying to switch and save someone who is being burst is not possible.

That said, with nerfs to Sage and Commando healing, no one can really burst heal anymore. The pendulum has really swung from healer-centric to DPS-centric.

I think that if the game had to be unbalanced in one direction, its better for damage > healing than vice versa. Healing slogfests really suck. The problem with the balance is not that there is too much damage, its that all the damage essentially comes from only 2 of the 8 classes: Sentinels and Commandos.

Ideally, I think Sent/Comm should be nerfed a bit - maybe 10% damage nerf to Force Sweep, and a 20% nerf to Demolition Round and Master Strike. Then bring up the other classes to about the same level. Vanguards don't need too much of a boost, but Scoundrels need serious help. The other classes are somewhere in between.

  3. There is no question that damage is substantially lower. Back Blast lost a bit of damage, and had a 33% cooldown increase. That's huge.

Shoot First same deal, though less of an issue because of the stealth requirement.

Sucker Punch lost damage and although it takes less energy, you can't use it any more often because of the UH requirement.

Blaster Whip lost damage directly, and had its talent increasing damage nerfed.

Combine all this with the fact that we were already behind on damage and other classes like Mercs and Marauders got buffed, and you have a recipe for fail. Especially since we have no survivability (and never have). We're a glass cannon, minus the cannon.

  4. Endurance skill slightly nerfed and an increased number of required talents in the concealment tree mean you can't take extra survival skills. That, coupled with buffs to Mauraders and their burst damage means you're taking more damage than before, faster than before, and unable to combat it. Normally we combat it by killing them first...but our damage was nerfed too lol.

    Go figure?

This. Marauders and Mercs melt anyone in PvP. There is no surviving them.

  5. Looks fairly solid, although I think you'll find sucker punch to not be worth it as you'll want your UH procs for EMP. I also don't think the Diagnostic Scan talents are worth the 4-point investment for the limited regen, and you really should almost never use scan anyway.

    As an alternative: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701MffMdhoRzcZZurboM.1

If you go into Dirty Fighting, you'll come out with better energy regen through Pugnacity giving you 10 energy every 20 seconds, plus you'll get some utility with Dirty Escape and Shrap Bomb.

Don't get Open Wound, by the way. It actually lowers your DPS.

  6. Backblast does LESS??? What are you smoking??? It was increased 5%, with a talented increase up to an end result of 9%. Personally I'm seeing far higher numbers spewing out from backblast than before (though admittedly overall it's a severe DPS hit due to the CD).

You were fooled by the patch notes. The base damage was lowered substantially before the talents "increased" it. There was a net loss.

  7. That's really weird. I was playing Scrapper earlier, before I went back to Sawbones, and I never saw my Shoot First crit for less than 2k. And this is with Centurion gear and Champ Main-hand and off-hand.

A shoot first crit for 3k is pathetic, much less 2k. Do you think "never below 2k" is braggable? Do you people even know how much damage other classes do?

  8. In spite of the tone of nearly all of this guys posts the past couple of days, I do believe him when he says a marauder tore him apart in about 5 seconds. The buffs they gave to ravage are a bit over the top; it did not happen to me, but I did see a BM geared sage that I was trying to peel for eat a ravage and drop to about 15% health. From full. I have personally been caught in a ravage that took me to around 40%. It'd be nice if we could still interrupt it with your.. you know, interrupt, but.. alas..

I don't get anything else he's upset about, though.

Talking about me like I'm an inanimate object is your way of being intentionally insulting and condescending, which makes you no better than what you claim I am.

    • Fact: Marauders and Mercs slaughter anyone (including each other) in seconds, and every other class pales by comparison.
    • Fact: These classes already did more damage than Scoundrels before the patch, and they were buffed.
    • Fact: Scoundrels did less damage than these classes before the patch, and we were nerfed.
    • Fact: The relative loss in Scoundrel strength is a combination of our nerfs and Marauder/Merc buffs, and this loss in relative power (the only thing that matters in PvP) is the greatest we have ever experienced in this game.
    • Fact: We have good reason to be upset, and if you don't see it, then that shows a weakness in your ability to reason.

  9. Well, if you are spec'd healing, it should be very very easy.

Stay near a point being capped and/or guard the point.

Heal. Heal. Heal. HoT. HoT. HoT.

Eventually you will get your standard medals like before 1.2 and then do some damage on someone. Throw a nade, drop your Flyby attack.

To not get 5 medals now is... well you have to really really try, especially if you are Battlemaster.

I am wearing Champion/Centurion gear and my first PvP match last night I got 15 medals. The next matches was 10+.

You're only getting 10+ medals if you're winning. The OP is obviously talking about losing games. However, not much has changed for earning medals as a healer, so I think his claims are without merit. I will say that there is no point being a healer anymore. If a Marauder/Merc decides someone should die, they die, heals or no heals.

  10. I just posted about this if anything it was a audio cue for us. I don't know how many hrs go into doing the development of this patch but I feel they taken more than they have ever given back. I was thrill in the beginning to be scoundrel even post 1.1.1 patch but i feel left out.

Since 1.0, every patch has nerfed Scoundrels or removed something we liked. We've never seen any kind of improvement. Some nerfs were merited, but everything they have done should clearly illustrate that BW doesn't give a **** if you identify strongly with your class or enjoy playing it.

I won't say they hate Scoundrels or anything. I honestly have no idea what they are thinking at this point. Scoundrels are running around as normal players while Marauders and Mercenaries are hero classes. We live and die at their whim.

  11. It's possible, but the one consistency I've seen in all your posts today is that they're really really really hard to believe. I mean really? A BM Marauder hit you for 80% of your health (about 13k dmg if you're really full BM) in 2 attacks? Then did it again right after? You REALLY expect people to believe that?

Yes, it really happened. BioWare is that clueless. I'd be willing to bet that its happened to you by now too, if you've played since the patch.

  12. I am at work and haven't been able to play yet since the patch, so I can't say for certain, but I did some theorycrafting a while back and came up with something like a 5% overall damage loss (that assumes you Quick Shot in the extra GCDs you get from the longer BB CD and extra energy you have) but that was just estimation without hard #s.

When you play, your theorycrafting will go out the window. PvP is completely broken/stupid right now and you would have to have your head jammed up your own arse not to see it.

Honestly, just wait and see. The first time Heatseeker Missiles hits you for 7k, you'll realize just how stupid this game is now. But thats not even the worst of it.

I am full Battlemaster and I opened on a BM Marauder. I stunlocked him down to about 40% and he then popped his invincibility and immediately hit me for 80% of my health with 2 attacks. I was right next to the Health buff, so I grabbed it. He leaped to me and hit me for 80% of my health again, then killed me with his next attack.

I don't mind losing, but that kind of damage is beyond stupid, especially since Marauders can vanish and/or go immune to damage every 45 seconds.

Sent/Maur are massively OP and Comm/Merc are ridiculous as well, though not as much so. Everyone else is chum.

  13. Right now a good healer rocking medpacs shouldn't lose to anyone in a 1v1. I know I don't even come close to losing 1v1 quickly. No class has enough burst to stop a stun & run heal up. I am close with my DPS vanguard but not enough stuns to counter someone popping trinket/trading stuns for healing up.

There are only 8 AC's so being at the bottom of the totem pole for relatively balanced classes isn't the end of the world because we have multiple roles. I think that people are over-estimating greatly the damage potential of other classes. Freighter fly-by hits like a truck in PvE and you can re-stealth after its cast.

The problem is that Sawbones is the only spec that is even remotely playable now. Scrapper was destroyed in this patch and Dirty Fighting is just as terrible as ever.
