  1. This is nothing new. Look on any community board for any MMO...

No matter what, the community are a congregation of self entitled [censored]holes who think they have a lifeline to the developers offices and are entitled by the mighty power of "Customer" to uncivily violate their behinds with what they want.

This is a truth I've come to accept.

It might not be all of us, and just a select few who need their First Amendment Rights violently revoked on the grounds of YAFMPSTFU statute #1, #2, and #3, but there we have it.

    + infinity

  2. The reality is that the community on this forum represents a small percentage in actual players.

Another reality is that 95-99% of the people are more interested in complaining and QQ about every little thing.

Someone opens a thread about lack of response from Bioware and next thing you know there is another, and another. Then the cries of game dying or F2P start all over again.

People complain that staff are laid off - oh no the game is going down.

People complain because they don't know the sub numbers - oh no Bioware is lying to us and the game is dying

Honestly I don't blame them for being a little non responsive

  3. I had a problem this morning where I would go to open the launcher and it would say it can't have more than one. So I erased the game, and started redownloading it. It's gotten pretty far and was almost done now it stop at "Installing English Assets 75 (16%). It stayed there for hours. So I closed it and tried reopening it. Each time I close it though I have to close from Task Manager. I have used a FixLauncher, I have deleted Patch file and re downloaded it. Always freezes at the same spot.

I'm not that good with computers, but I understand a decent amount.

You may want to post this in the customer service forum. There seem to be some folks having similar issues and the CS team would be the best place to start out..

    Good Luck...

  4. fail thread is fail.

    ^^ this

Let me answer the OP's question for Bioware.

None of your business. Pay and play. Don't pay. Don't play. Stop asking questions to which you need not know and is none of your concern.

Or you can simply apply to the company work your way up and then get all the answers you feel you are entitled to.

  5. I'm sorry but these whining threads are getting comical.

It happen to many folks - including myself. Yeah, legacy too.

Big deal ! - spend a day, think of a new name and use that. Ultimately, your character looks the same and plays the same. Now you are on a more populated server.

Rather than complain about the change, use it to your advantage. Have some fun with the change.

If you can't do that, then maybe console games are best for you. No name changes there.

    Just saying.

  6. We just had "mergers" because multitudes "detached" themselves from the game. Just a thought.

And so they should have if they weren't happy with the game. Players will come and players will go. Server maintenance needs to happen as well as bugs needing to be fixed quickly and take priority over other bugs.

Merges happened because a flock of folks started the game and then left. People cried for mergers, they happened and then people cried how it happened.

Bottom line - Bioware has data on what needs to be fixed and when they think it should be fixed.

Mergers happened to servers they deemed destination servers (someone had to decide, why not the folks who can actually see the population and usage) Deciding to transfer to a server and getting upset because you have to change your name ( just like an other mmo having to do it) and then demanding to have it back... Well, you see where I'm going with this..No point beating a dead horse.

I was just making an honest suggestion..

  7. No.... it isn't going to kill me. Where did I say that it would?

Putting aside the fact that I am based in Australia and work full time so I lose a whole day's prime game time each week (far more last week of course). My point is that the scheduled down time all too frequently ends up extending or creating more down time elsewhere in the week as they attempt to fix the fixes.

It wont kill me, but it will kill their sales. It's not a bad product, it's just poorly maintained. And by that I mean the quality of the maintenance NOT the quantity.

Maybe it's best you don't play a game online that requires down time. It's just part of the genre - yes it sucks that it's during your prime time but ultimately it is going to happen no matter who likes it or not.

If it's that frustrating, maybe detaching yourself from it may be best.

  8. To be fair, I assumed they wouldn't be able to fix the issues I'm aware of fast enough to do the fix last night... and I assumed that by that point the worse of the damage would have already been done, so they would be "smart" enough to hold off on bringing the servers down until the next scheduled maintenance.

But I should have known better, BW seems to enjoy bringing the servers down for issues that could easily wait 4 more days.

Your assumptions do not constitute their actions to be deemed fair or unfair.

  9. "transfers went so well "

speak for yourself...I had to change legacy and character names. Months of time and story invested and now its some other character, SWTOR probably lost a subscriber here. Worst server merge I have experienced,

    LOL

So your character looks the same, has all the same progression. Because is he now "Bill" instead of " Bob" it negates everything you have done? - Maybe time to go back to console gaming.

The server merges were only fail for people unable to read and comprehend the information put forth.

  10. Good for u little fanboys

There are 3 servers where ppl didnt received any transfers

Those servers were packed in DEC-JAN

So ye, some ppl might not be so happy as u are

    That didn't take long..

  11. indeed, its such a shame theres only whining around, so it looks like 99% of the population is disliking this game etc... . but it isnt! but negativity is becoming normal. Maybe people are spoiled? maybe people like to bash things up?

swtor wont be F2P , swtor isnt dying, swtor isnt a singleplayer , swtor is not wow , swtor is my mmorpg i love to play!

    ^^ This

I spend lots of time trying to find out things about not only this game but other games as well.

The amount of bashing towards this game in this forum and others (cough) mmorpg.com is staggering

I think in reality if you add up the number of actual players that are not happy vs the actual subscription amounts, it would be a very small % of the overall player outlook.

What amazes me is that people keep their subs up here to post false data and complain.

Bottom line - I like the game, it's worth my $0.50 a day. Once I stop liking it, I'll leave and won't take the time and energy to bash it and make things up.

    Great Job Bioware

  12. I'm curious if they are going to bring back planets

    Manaan

    Dantooine

    Dxun

    Malachor V

    Onderon

    Peragus II

    Telos

    Yavin

    Kahyyyk

    M4-78

    It would be nice.

I would suspect that would happen in any expansions coming out. Lots of room in those sectors located on the galaxy map..:)

  13. They should have made 4 new servers for each type.

    PVE

    PVP

    RP

    RP-PVP

Then they should have taken the lowest pop. servers and given them free transfers. Then move up the list and keep adding them to the new destination servers. This would have been a lot smoother, instead of trying to re-balance the top servers such as Fatman, etc.

    haha..

    Another genius suggestion

The hits just keep coming.. lol

  14. Not even 24 hours into the merges and the mind boggling complaints across multiple threads just plain is astounding.

I'm beginning to think that the majority of the folks posting in these forums lack fundamental skills when it comes to reading, comprehension and last but not least - patience.

Not all posters.. But oh my, there are lots out there..

  15. If only it were always that simple. You got to remember a lot of folks got locked into their servers based on the guilds they were in pre release and not everyone in those guilds was on the same page about everything such as pvp. I for one wanted a pve server, but I also wanted to stick with my gaming guild that I have been a part of for a long time. As such I ended up going with them to a pvp server at launch. That guild has now died on SWTOR, but I still enjoy the game. With my server being dead I re rolled a character on a pve server like I wanted to originally and I have found a good group of people that invited me to their guild and I have now become friends with. Its situations like this that bioware overlooked when making their decisions about transfers. I am thinking though that bioware will open up transfers in the future that will accomadate people in my same situation so I wait here patiently for that option.

Good point but ultimately you made the choice of what type of server to play on.

I suspect that those types of transfers will be available in the future for a fee. But calling it an embarrassing (not by you of course) because it isn't being done now is something that's just proves my post about the types of issues that people get angry over.

Once again, not directed at you. It's just a general statement from my perspective.

  16. I suspect no matter how and what they do.

The forum is going to be filled with angry people.

Seems to be the norm in this community.

History has been pretty much like this:

Players - "we want a LFG tool" - Bioware - "OK we are implementing one" - Players "It doesn't have what we want in it"

Players - "Servers are dead" - Bioware - "ok we are going to merge servers" - Players "Make mine a destination, this is going to suck, They are going to screw this up"

Players - "Some classes are over powered" - Bioware " Ok we made some changes to some classes that weren't as intended" - Players - "You nerfed me. This game is Fail and your devs have no clue"

It goes on and on and on and on...
