  1. LOL @ "Our first part comes out right away, the 2nd part comes in the future thats how epic it is"

So in order for something to qualify as "Epic" it just needs 2 parts. nice Bioware

So after a year's worth of work you managed to get 1 flashpoint out in this Epic update, can only imagine the vast progress that can be made in a couple of months time! haha

Glad i canceled, this future does not look promising. Also i didnt hear anything about addons.

    GG bioware

  2. Because we're PAYING for the product. I absolutely agree with you for a free product, no expectation of something that works. But for a BOUGHT AND PAID FOR product the expectation that it actually work is pretty reasonable.

Let me rephrase. The whole point of MMO's is that their CONTENT keep growing as time goes on.

The functionality at release needs to work.

    >Combat functionality, i.e. basic skills firing when a button is pushed: Not working In fact there are at least 3 different ways this is not working. 1> Skills not firing, or experiencing delay, when pushed. 2> Skills repeating a partial animation over and over before firing, 3> Skills that appear to fire graphically but apply no effect and don't charge the cooldown.

    >Reward functionality, i.e. quest credit when the conditions are met: Not working

    >Inventory functionality, i.e. basic sort functions across vendors and AH: Not working

    >PvP cost/benefit reward structure: Not working at release, not working after one "fix"

    >Hardware optimization, i.e. not unduely straining the GPU/CPU and/or low framerate performance of machines with WELL OVER the suggested specifications: Not working

    >Basic communication functionality, i.e. guild chat: Not working as of just a few days ago...we'll see if it's really fixed with 1.1 now.

    >Basic travel functionality, i.e. zoning between areas: Not working it is COMMON to lock up and have to hard reset when zoning.

    >Instance queue functionality, i.e. quing for warfronts: Not working it is common to have multiple queue groups on one side or the other causing the warzone to end prematurely due to imbalance.

    >Downloader functionality, i.e. not repeatedly requiring people to download a 11+GB file over and over because a patch download was unsuccessful. : Not working

    Need I go on?

These are NOT small bug fix issues. These are the heart and core of the game. I think it's reasonable that they be expected to work at launch.

OR at the VERY VERY VERY MINIMUM the expectation should be that BW be VERY upfront and transparent in their communications about these issues, instead of remaining vague and in some cases completely unresponsive to them.

    /Signed for truth

100% agree, all these issues have been here since day one and still no fix. I mean basic search functions on an auction house? really bioware?? lol. Well i suppose waving while on a mount is a bit more of a pressing issue.. haha.

  3. Funny how every MMO player thinks he is some type of game developer.

Some random working in McDonald's all of a sudden thinks they are gods gift to game development and gives out advice. Truly hilarious.

Kinda like how Mr. Gordon (In charge of the swtor project at the time) thought it was a bright idea to use an unfinished engine even after being told the risks.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out having your developers work on something they did not create (and unfinished) is harder / less productive than say having your developers work on an engine they created themselves the ground up.

  4.

"We were concerned over their making major changes to our engine, but we loved the size of the check that came with the deal."

Lol well i am glad that atleast they got some funding for their engine and some extra cash for their efforts.

But shame on Bioware / EA for going cheap mode on this lol. Im sure there was a nice cheaper cost to an unfinished game engine.

Last i heard the guy managing the project at the time is now managing facebook apps lol.

Yet his decisions shaped these unfortunate events.

  5. Except you aren't abandoning it.

I guess in the time before class you could do something useful like, I don't know, read a dictionary?

    Here's a start:

    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Define+abandon

When did i mention that "I" was abandoning it?

Can you at least use some intelligence lmao.

Not to mention Abandoning ship being a figure of speech.

Now please use a dictionary like you mentioned

    http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/ship

  6. btw you just flat out admitted you were trolling.

    To sith face avatar guy,

    It was a joke.

Trolling = giving my point of view of a game?

Good logic there. The word troll has been abused by so many people these days. Reminds me of how the would noob is/was used over the years.

Say something people dont want to hear and your a troll

  7. If you canceled and were genuinely over the game, you wouldn't be telling us about it. You'd be off playing a better game, posting on those forums.

Or maybe you just have nothing better to do?

Either way, no pity here. Stinks you didn't enjoy the game, but I'd rather have a smaller player base of people who ENJOYED the game than a gigantic base like Warcraft of people who hate themselves, hate the game, but don't have the patience to enjoy anything else.

Saving as many fan boys as I can, Im not playing anything because I have class in a couple hrs, so I will use my time to how i choose to do so. Its not like i didnt pay for the game so id say im allowed to post on the forums. Lol @ hate myself, and dont "Hate" this game. But many of us have come to the realization that bad game is bad. Abandon ship while you can! haha

  8. They could at least update

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=198324

and let us know whats going on.

Hes on vacation for the day.

Just Like at 10 AM yesterday they said they would have an update soon for the problem on illum. 8 hrs later they dont even admit to the problem, they make an excuse. Communication has been bad from the start, they seem to have a problem giving out any information.

-What days people would get early access

    - Server capacities player wise

    - Faction Sizes / Imbalances

    - Maintenence information

    - Patch updates and info

Just a small list of the lack of communication.

  9. another armchair dev HAH

you guys should apply to BW and fix everything for them /cheer

Its the truth actually. Did you see the changes in the patch notes? nah u prolly didnt even read em. Are you even lvl 50 and been to illum to understand how it works anyway? prolly not. Get to lvl 50 then u may speak

  10. They're just trying to cover their butts. The fact is people have always been able to go inside the bases, why else would the super turrets be inside??? We've always been able to walk in the enemy base, knowing the super turrets could mow us down but with a big enough group we can push in.

If they really didn't intend for stuff like yesterday to happen, they would have had it so that you die instantly upon entering like in WZ's at release. They think people are stupid, I guess. The fact is they're amateurs and have no clue what they're doing when it comes to pvp, and they should at least save face and admit this. Being silent and ignoring people is not the way BW should be going, but they've been doing that since general beta so....

100% agree. I laughed when i saw the excuse they put, instead of admitting to the mistake. "We meant for players to die immediately when entering the opposing factions base, the turrets are just there to look pretty"

  11. There will still be maintenance, they did this the other day, went over by about a half an hour for no apparent reason, the lack of communication is still annoying as if I'd have known I had extra time I would have gone and quested.

They have the customer support guy working as both customer support and system administrator. He on a call at the moment

  12. Is he in ilum playing on his imp ?

lol, they stated that illum wasnt working as intended but i think the truth is, they did not test is at all so these past 24 hrs they have been programming and writing more code to actually create what they said in the illum exploit update notes. They just tried to cover it up and not actually take blame for the flub. The least they could do was to be honest about the problem.

  13. First of all let me start by saying I love this game. Sure it has a lot of bugs, some of them very frustrating, but every MMO has had these issues at launch. I am willing to look past these and am keeping my fingers crossed for getting these fixed. Now to my real question.

White Lightsaber Crystals...do they exist? Everything I have seen thus far indicates that they were in the game during beta but are no longer around. I've been scouring the forums and have seen similar threads to this but no one has been able to confirm their existence. Since before I started playing I've wanted a set of white crystals but I'm beginning to think they have indeed been removed.

So has anyone been able to obtain one since launch? If so where? I also am hoping that someone from BW reads this and can confirm whether they are truly in the game. I realize they probably won't or can't tell us where to get them but if we could at least get confirmation that they exist than I will continue to search for them.

They will be implemented in update 4: Re-Rise of the Rags

This update should be out by september 2012, I cant wait, white sabers will be cool!

  14. A game engine by the time it makes it to market, especially by a AAA company, is so heavily modified by the end that it isn't the same animal. It's just a base to build your game upon... If you're complaining about graphics you should be talking to BW art department.

You guys act like they just got the Hero engine and tossed in some graphics and called it a day. It's undergone 100's of millions dollars worth of modifications.

Lol, so you would rather pay 100's of millions of dollars to modify something that you and/or your company did not create themselves?

You can make your own game engine for 100's of millions.. more likely millions. Developers are much better at things that they create, not things that they modify. Would you want your developers to have a full understanding of a system, or just competent knowledge of the system?

  15. I'm getting tired of hearing all the unhappy players out there saying how the quit but still come on the forums and pass on there negativity to the rest of us please make the forum active subscriptions only to post so the people like me who actually love the game can read and reply to constructive posts

Can you take your logic and apply it to yourself? Instead of solving the problem that you speak of, you become the problem when you whine about posts. More common sense please!

    Thanks in advance sir!

  16. I just see a long list of crappy titles with a few good/okay ones in there.

By the way: calling someone (who may be older than you) "son" and calling "Game, Set, and MATCH" yourself makes you look like a total idiot. Same goes for your excessive use of punctuation or caps lock.

Oh excuse me sir I forgot we were on the internet where formal language is spoken 100% of the time. At least be real with yourself, we are on the internet.

    Gotta love the grammar patrol!

  17. That is where I lost faith in you.

I can quote a series of buggy as hell mmos that used the Unreal, 1 of the top of my head APB.

Do not blame the engine, blame those who have no skills and are lazy as hell, but got a job as a coder for the engine team, leaving those who actually have amazing coding skills jobeless and forced to take crappy part time jobs.

    Circle of life.

Point being, they chose the cheapest engine they could get their hands on. Its not like there's millions of game engines to choose from. Either they make their own and be fully dedicated to it, or they use something tried and tested.

  18. Unreal engine? Haha you clearly don't know anything about engines.

Stop talking, you are only making yourself look bad.

Unreal engine looks good, but it can't do that much. I wont go into further detail, google is there for a reason if you would like to take a peek at what it doesn't do.

I didnt want to do this to you but really son??? REALLY??

I guess all these games on this list are bad.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games#Unreal_Engine_3

    Game, Set, and MATCH

  19. The hero engine is so horrible that I can't believe anyone is paying for it. Take a look at all hero engine games, what do they have in common? Poor controls with huge input delays AND really poor performance compared to actual visual quality.

Yea its beginning to look more clear that this was just a way for EA / Bioware to generate some extra income while the ship was still afloat. Everything in the game is pretty much outdated, aside from the voice acting.

Every product has its niche or specialty. This niche was the voice over. But when you put priority of Voice Overs above Gameplay its a recipe for disaster
