  1. I have recently returned to the game after being away for years. I am very disappointed that the devs have nerfed alot of the burst specs into the ground. Most lighting sorcs put out laughable DPS and marksmanship is a joke. How do the devs think making some players favorite specs total garbage in PVE will be good for the game? They dont have to put out top parses but they need to be somewhat close to viable in NIM. The devs are saying only certain disciplinse are allowed into Mastermode content?!?!?! Very sad that players can't just play what they want to play in Mastermode content even in HM a lof of players wont touch burst ranged DPS. This talk about "disadvantages and advantages" is nonsense and shows the devs are out of touch with community. Melee do have to close the gap however they do thave one important "advantage" called instant cast abilities that can be used on the move. Alot of ranged classes have to break their casts to move, so everyone has some type of disadvantage.

Please restore burst ranged classes to being reasonably good in PVE. The game has a limited number of classes and disciplines making some trash in pve is not good for the health of the game.

  2. This is very imcompetent of Bioware for sure. This is a business and you have to keep your customers happy simple as that. The sad thing is though the customers enable this behavior. If you go to a restaurant and the service is bad and the food cooked incorrectly what do you do? Well continuing to go to that restaurant would be silly if you had other options. Bioware is extremely cocky in that they assume because they have the license to Starwars they do not need to deliver a quality product.

You the customer base has the power to say no. NO! Unless you deliver a quality product with quality customer service we refuse to pay and mean it. When you threaten to unsub don't talk about it, just do it. If you are unhappy with the product and continue to pay for it the only person you can blame is yourself. Bioware is doing this stuff because the market is allowing them to do it.

The only way bioware will change is when people unsub, whining about them will do nothing. The only power you have as a customer is to unsub.

  3. I would rather have a proper KOTOR 3 Than a game that limps along trying to be a single player game in an MMO package. Just give me my $60 game so I can play a full story in KOTOR 3 and then let me come here and raid in my MMO plz.

A full year of this game will cost $180 for about 15-20 hours of story. Can I just have my KOTOR 3 for $60 plz. Then if its not too much trouble maybe give me back my SWTOR MMO?

  4. While I agree with your position - I WANT NEW OPS TOO - your hyperbole does not do your cause any good.

So nine months is too long? Seriously, "recycled content" - as you put it - has only been in effect since October 2015. Before that we in fact had two "new" operations: Ravagers and Temple of Sacrifice. Sure, anyone could do the older raids if they wanted, but they were usually overleveled and overgeared and did them for no other reason than achievements and decorations; it was only nine months ago that all older ops were re-tuned for the new level cap. Yes Rav and ToS were ten months old when the "recycling" happened, but how quickly do you realistically expect the developers to release new operations content?

It is NOT a fair comparison but... even WoW - the biggest baddest MMO - has never released raids very quickly: 1 or 2 at the start of an expansion (after a year of NOTHING) and then over the course of another year 1 or 2 more, and then NOTHING until the next major expansion. And even Blizzard has "recycled" WoW raids - Naxxrammus Front and Center (in vanilla it was the pinnacle of end game content - less than 1% of the population actually saw it back then. With WotLK Naxx was the first raid of that expansion) Later they made The Blackrock Mountain raids on level again.

TL;DR: "recycling" old large group content is not revolutionary. Deal with it.

Are you forgetting the time span since TOS and RAV went live? There have been no new OPS for far longer than nine months. Also part of my question is should the devs prioritize operations more to encourage players to stay subbed for longer once the story content is devoured.

  5. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here in endgame. SWTOR has provided with me some great experiences in endgame but I feel the current state of the game is purely focused on the single player experience. Endgame group content was my favorite aspect of the game and I wish the community would support me in asking for new group content in the form of operations. Many endgame players have left and I think they made the game more complete.

This game has used recycled content for endgame for far too long. New operations are a part of every great MMO expansion. New operations would breathe new life into the endgame and bring scores of players back! Does anyone feel the game needs new operations.

  6. What are you talking about ?

Iam talking about how alacrity is the highest stat you should stack as a tank as it affects each class differently. In the case of tanks it raises their avoid chance. Avoid chance not only works against all damage types it allows you to win you're loot roles much easier. It can even One shot Revan if its high enough. Do not underestimate the power of alacrity. Make sure you save you're alacrity adrenals for the loot rolls though.

  7. I think the point to make here is that as a new tank, gearing for endurance over mitigation might be more beneficial. But, as you learn the mechanics and fights(and tricks), you'll realize that many of these massive spikes can be flat out avoided. Regardless, the days of gearing for hi/mid/low are gone. But, it's not a terrible idea to have some endurance gear in the inventory if you think you're getting spiked down too fast. That hasn't happened to me, but each group's composition and ability is different. There's nothing wrong with that...at all.

There is no catch-all "best" way to gear for Nim. Why? Because there's far too many human variables in play. And, in the end, it's fairly inconsequential. Nailing mechanics and avoiding "avoidable" damage is what makes a good Nim tank. Nim content can be cleared employing a variety of gearing methods. Nim content cannot be cleared unless you hit your marks.

Want to be a great Nim tank? Gear towards your group's strength's. Nail mechanics flawlessly until you're not only aware of the tank's job, but everyone else's. And, learn all the tricks. If there's any mantra to tanking, then that's it.

You forgot how alacrity can tremendously increase you're avoid chance which runs parallel to your defense chance. See as tanks stack alacrity they gain a tremendous boon! THE NEWLY DISCOVERED AVOID CHANCE which not only affects M/R but also affects F/T its fantastic. Bring an alacrity adrenal for greater effect!

  8. I am explaining the way alacrity works and iam dumb!?!?!?!!?!? You said more DPS so iam showing the server how to get more DPS. multistrikes are amazing on sorcs and explain to me why when I use polarity shift it gives me more multisrikes its BECAUSE I have more alacrity. Same thing when I roll for loot I always activate Polarity shift for better rolls on the loot. I might have discovered the biggest boost to DPS sorcs have ever seen! I recommend everyone test and see what alacrity does for you're specific class.
  9. Hehe you are very gifted in being stupid! Thanks for all rhe laughs!!

    It has indeed been fun!!!!11one!!

The joke is on you! Just wait till that epic main hand lands your way because of all the alacrity you got on. One of my guildies had so much alacrity on that his lightning bolt actually activated again. It seemed like the attack did less damage like 1/3 or 1/4 which is weird. The same thing happened with thundering blast and chain lightning the animation went off twice. I believe I have discovered that alacrity affects each class differently as well. In the case of sorcs it causes multistirkes. I did not see mention of this in Sions guide, which is odd considering how "in depth" it was.

  10. Wow I cannot believe you guys did not know about the alacrity being so good on rolls I would for sure bring an alacrity adrenal before rolling on all loot. It does seem to mess with the force resistance of the next boss though. All the jokes about doctors and accuracy is dumb though.....you see they don't use weapons they use tools.

That is another reason using it for DPS is stupid! I always make sure its up for the roll at the end of boss kill. Ten ticks of affliction vs winning the loot. easy choice!

  11. This is the same reason i was omitting the crushing darkness from my rotation because of the force weakness debuff which makes all my attacks hit the boss without fail. I did some parsing and apparently its better if i include crushing darkness on cooldown as much as i can, but it seems that i miss quite a bit. Even with the bosses that have weakness to force. Hopefully my alacrity will do enough damage for the misses on force resistant bosses. but being able to win almost every loot drop in a pug is an amazing boon. 2000 alacrity for the win! It has been fun :)
  12. Since OP didn't actually include Accuracy in his guide at all, I think he might be serious about not needing it.

Worry not, you're wrong again, as usual. All DPS classes and specs want 110% accuracy for endgame PvE, because all bosses have a 10% resist/defense chance against all damage types. Before 2.0 (I think, someone can correct me if I recall incorrectly) Sorcs and Concelment Operatives didn't need Accuracy because the bosses did *not* have that innate defense. But now they do, and everyone needs to stack enough Accuracy for that defense to not matter.

Accuracy is only needed by Sorcerers if they choose to use vibroswords otherwise you're not actually using a weapon that can be tracked with accuracy. The Force attacks you deal can automatically hit you're target if you're target is weak to the force(Most bosses have weakness to force}. Also the rolls I speak of are random loot rolls. When you down a boss and the op leader calls for a roll. The higher you're alacrity the better you're chance to not get low rolls for loot. For example i type /roll i never get below 50 because i have 1000+ alacrity which means i have 1000 innate plus gear is 1000 so i end up in my sweetspot of 2000+.

  13. I don't even understand either why do you have 100 percent accuracy. Most good sorcs know you need at least 2000 alacrity. Alacrity above 2000 automatically increases you're force damage by 1000 and nobody talks about the effect it has on you're rolls. I have won so much good loot on my toons because of enhanced rolls thanks to all my alacrity. If you're gonna write a guide please explain to me why a force user would have accuracy anyway THEY DONT USE WEAPONS!
  14. First off you don't have to quote me the dulfy guide. I wrote that guide. If it is only 10 hits explain to me the difference between this parse that uses it and this parse that does not. seems to be about 25 hits, so i was a little off. You think you know Lightning, but you clearly don't, as is evidenced by your original post and everything that was and still is wrong with it. I was going to be nice, but you are on here touting stuff that is simply not true. You've tested it huh? Well you must not have tested it very well because you are dead wrong. Creating a guide for something that already exists and then filling it with straight up wrong information is a disservice to those in the community who care about this class. Just admit when you are wrong, and stop spouting nonsense.

You're guide is convoluted and overly complex for such a simple rotation. You're trying to make the class more than it is which is a face roll rotation. With all these bells and whistles You're best parses in 224 are about 200 points higher than mine in my 220 geared sorc, cuz I don't main a sorc any way. The truth of the matter is I was asked to write a guide that was more to the point and less filled with details that don't really matter all that much. My guide is more a starters guide to sorc play. Its straight forward and easy to understand. Even with all my "wrong" info Iam still getting parses over 6k in 220 gear so....... I kind of don't really care about you're "correct" way to play especially when its so inconsequential. But yea if you want a little more dps than sure do polarity shift with the dot ok I can see that. Its just funny that something that is so minor is deemed as a make or break. its NOT make or break at all. You can have the definitive guide you can be the sorc champion....I don't really care lol. My guide will allow players to easily get over 6k on a dummy in 220 and if they really feel like that is so terrible they can go read you're maze of a guide and hope to learn something.

I main a Sniper I just wrote this for lols anyway for the newbs cuz iam a newb to sorc. Its easy for the newbs to understand my guide they will allow them to hit 6k without all the textbook nonsense that wont really matter in downing a boss or not. I did however add the nit picky nonsense stuff just so they can get that extra 75 dps. It has been fun :)

  15. Don't quote me on this, but i think it amounts to 30+ extra ticks of affliction by using polarity shift before. As far as APM goes, the only class that should beat the APM of a Lightning Sorc is Carnage Mara unless I'm forgetting a class. On a dummy your APM should be 51-52, or you are either geared incorrectly or are wasting gcds. Boss fights obviously vary on APM depending on mechanics and downtime of course.

I appreciate people taking an interest in this class that I love so much, as maybe if more people understand Lightning, they can better articulate what will be needed to change it to make it less mediocre. With that being said you have a lot of misinformation in this guide. This guide has pretty much all you need to know about Lightning in 4.0. This version is a little more up to date on gearing, but otherwise the one on dulfy serves perfectly well.

You have been quoted and no it does not amount to 30+ extra ticks. I have tested it thoroughly it does allow the timing to be better with the refresh rate. Sometimes allowing you to get a tick back to back. Its a slight DPS gain but not make or break by any means, so again it like almost does not matter. Quote dulfy guide [This allows us to squeeze a little extra damage out of Affliction. With the increased tick rate, Affliction can now tick right before a refresh from Crushing Darkness and Chain Lightning, which will then cause it to tick again, thus gaining just a little bit more damage from Affliction.]

In terms of making it better simply increase the critical bonus of reverberating force to 15% possibly 20%

  16. No, we are talking about constant extra ticks from Affliction through the course of the fight. As long as you don't let the original Polarity Shifted Affliction drop from the target, it will always be boosted until the end of the fight. It's a dps boost, plain and simple, and not doing it is playing the class wrong.

that's really cool ty for the enlightenment. I never thought it mattered so much you guys are helping my guide a lot. I love the forums such great knowledge all in one place.
