  1. Had a thought about what people might be seeing as its common in a lot of other games, especially in an MMO like Aion and others. Just for giggles I went ahead and took a look at what my video memory usage was and was suprised by what I found. Sitting in Republic fleet; peak = 989MB on highest settings, lowest was = 667MB. This is without anti-aliasing applied in game which would further add to this total.

Also another non affiliated website for more info about what I'm talking about.

Basically it would appear that most if not all people who are using a 1GB card at high resolutions like mine (1900 x 1200) on high settings are going to hit the frame buffer and start to take massive performance penalties as the video card is having to constantly dump its cache. Having a mediocre card with this is probably enough to cause the issues people are seeing I would think.

So perhaps the people who are having issues are folks who are using high settings, high resolution and a card with insufficient video memory to back it up?

  2. How do I set this?

Do I need that one tool that adjusts SLI profiles? or is it on NVIDIA control panel?

Its in the nVidia control panel; you change the SLI rendering mode from "nvidia reccomended" to "force alternate frame rendering 2"

  3. I'm sure this is redundant and somone has already brought this up but current nVidia reccomendation uses split frame rendering or some other inefficient method resulting in stuttering/poor FPS.

Performance is grealy improved if it is forced to AFR2 mode from the driver pane; overall GPU usage is lower and full scaling SLI appears to be back in action. Just passing this along to those who care.

  4. i5 2500K @ 4.5ghz

    16GB DDR3

    GTX 470 SLI

^^ High end system running at 1900 x 1200 no FPS issues whatsoever, have yet to see below vsync @ 60FPS. Nothing to see here, move along.

FYI: AMD FX series blows and is the source of your issue. AMD chips do poorly in MMO enviroments; if you dont believe me go look at the comparisons between the i7s vs Phenom in WoW and you'll see for yourself.

  5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Please cry more; this is such sweet just desserts for the people who yapped about people freaking out about not getting early game access. I hope your server crashes and I hope you get a small taste of what we've been dealing with the last 4 days. Get owned son
