  1. SO what you're saying is, it looks pixilated, can only be played at 1024X768, you can see maybe 4 or 5 people around you before you start lagging horribly and doesn't have HD graphics? Cause that's what the games from 2001 really are like. Want me to go back with you? Stop trying to sound smart, because i was there back in 01 playing those games, hunny. I can tell you what those games were like. Some of them were awesome. They looked awesome back then. Going back now, they look like crap, play like crap and have the architecture of crap. Need i go on?

Actually yes , yes you do. I could give a rats arse about the graphics quality of the game, and lemme tell YOU sugar, this games graphics aint all that. Lag? hell read more , this game has lag as well, but again, LAG aint what we are talking about.

EQ1 , with all its flaws, beat the crap out of this game, flat out. Even with a book in your face, corpse runs and combines that didnt combine.

So yeah , tell me how the LOOK of a game makes up for crappy design? Flawed implementation ?

  2. What gets me is that you all compare this game to others forgetting a few facts along the way :

    1) They had TONS of successful or mostly successful MMOs to look at , and find what people liked about them.

    2) They had the cash to implement it.

    3) They had a team that supposedly had experience.

    4) They failed miserably on 1-3.

This isnt 2001 here folks. For the amount of Time and Cash they had I expect competence in design. They didnt deliver.

Now you can argue everything all you want, but it just makes you look like a bunch of morons. The game is heavily flawed, plays like 2002 console , and has the lasting appeal of decaying food. And yes. Its 2 months old.

  3. constructively - you have no real clue about server population, how many people are like you, how many people will or will not renew their subs.

For everyone person like you who says this there is one who has the opposite opinion of the game and will renew their subs. The question is if new subs/renewals are greater than lost subs. Your subjective opinion on this is irrelevant to the truth of the matter - which neither of us will know until first quarter EA numbers are released.

Point taken, and acknowledged , fair enough.

Oh so you missed 1.1. Yes that was a major patch for any MMO

1.1 was a major holy crap look at the garbage we released patch, and not exactly an upgrade / forward to anything eh?

  4. So what OP rush out the patch then have it totally buggy. It is better to take more time and get it right than rush it.

Also not even been 3 months since the last major patch.

this game has never HAD a major patch dude. And reading comprehension is your friend. I say if you have FIXED THIS PARTICULAR BUG (whatever it may be) put it in the Tuesday patch NOW, not later - if you have fixed this particular feature , again next patch day. If you have fixed this ONE PART OF THE UI, hey add it in Tuesday.

This way if ONE THING breaks something else, hey you know what it is, and its fixable , not a 'holy crap what did what to what when where why" fest that USUALLY happens after a MAJOR content patch.

  5. I agree.

And Miyeko, NO, the sky is not falling. ;)

People who can't wait for the patch, which is Due within weeks (with it's pre-announced content/changes), really are not going to stay anyway.

If you can show me a DATE I would love it. So far all I hear is Soon™ and I have heard to much Soon™ over the years to care to wait on it... and I LOVE the concept of the game, I do - I love the IDEA behind the game, and a lot of its mechanics. I dont want classes 'balanced out' , or anything else like that.. just want it stable, playable , likeable and fixed. When I see a vid showing me a guy adjusting his UI in and out my first thought is "why aint it out yet then?" not, 'gee guess i can wait a month for that" eh?

  6. If you're not enjoying the game, stop playing. Save your $15.95 for that 6 pack of beer or a breakfast. Come back when you see what you want implemented.

My point though was that without some show of good faith a LOT of people who leave.. well they aint coming back. Not just me , as I would check in now and again, but for a LOT of people, once done, done. And that would kill this game in infancy fairly well.

Would like to see a prospectus on how many active subs they NEED to survive, but doubt that will ever come out. And the random numbers people toss out dont help - if a small base was enough Tabula Rasa would still be online :p

  7. I would honestly rather have patches that work than rushed patches that caused more issues than solved.

Aint about full patches, its about incremental fixes as a whole. Why wait to put in a bunch when you can do a few NOW ? And rushed? rushed?

After as much development as this game had, right now we should be seeing the polishing / forgotten items phase, not the developmental phase of things they should have seen coming. I want the polish patches, not the extra content / developmental crap.

Fix the bugs - incrementally if need be but NOW, not in a patch in another month.

  8. BW really needs to start incrementally adding in patch 1.2 and soon, or they may find themselves a bit short on players - many people did like myself, and bought a two month card to play, and it will run out.. way before the last of March and early April.

That being said, if theres no change by then, I am not about to put another two months cash while I wait - a wait that may or may not be broken by finding another game entirely. Others I am sure feel the same.

An incremental output would at least show they HAVE stuff completed, it wont interfere with anyones playtime - heck every Tuesday patch eh? It would also lower the amount of *surprise* "patches to fix the patch" that happens to every game with a major update.

Let's have a constructive discussion about this.

  9. UI scaling of hotbars

allowing the two additional vert hotbars to be resized and horizontal

    all windows resizing

more than two windows up at once

more than one item on map at same time

    revamped market

multiple chat windows w/ chatfontsize scaling

ability to turn off things like the big circle around the map

two more hotbars or maybe a half sized combat quick bar thats detachable

resizable map window, ability to turn off the wings

    Bout it ftm

  10. Reason for overheat is because some hardware are taking more workload than others.

What you can do is either have a better cooling system for your PC. Or update the BIOS on your mainboard and update latest vga card drives and prey that the workload spreads equally througout GPU, CPU and rest of hardwares.

Not entirely true. The coding can cause this if there is an issue ( i refer you to when Eve Online 's dock allowed runaway fps hit on the same spots on a cards memory causing the cards to literally burn up ) - Vanguard had this issue on launch on SOME cards as well, was a shader / shadow issue as I recall that they fixed in an update.

Keep reporting it as it happens , maybe they can run it down - I know my 9800GTX was hitting 94-98c in windowed mode - I had to hit triple buffering, full screen, drop shadows and bloom to get it to drop to an acceptable overall range, and yet - now I have lost FPS in game. Odd.

Btw - reason for the quote is I run an Antec 900 with 7 fans, and have adjusted it for both negative and positive pressure trying to drop the heat issue with hardware, and while positive pressure seems to work better on my configuration, its def not the fact I dont have enough cooling ...

  11. The ONLY two things about the UI I think NEED to be addressed:

    UI scaling. want smaller hotbars

Hot Bars Vert or Horizontal. I LIKE having the four horizontal.

Other than that, the UI is fine I think.

ps: movable UI needs to happen at least for hotbars - otherwise my second point is moot)

  12. Wow, just wow.. are all of you so damn immature that you cant let the OP state his reasons for leaving and move on? Or do all you fanboi's sit up at night looking for yet new ways to say old remarks in a new cutting manner? The lot of you make me want to puke, and lower the mental age bracket of this game by at LEAST 20 years. Some of you sound like your frikin 12 and had your cookie taken away your so petulant.

So , let the OP state what he wanted, which MAY EVEN BE ACCURATE EH? (shutup fanboi) and move on. Running your mouths after that is moronic, wait sorry, stupid, no wait, uhm.. just shut up and let it go.

    Idiots

  13. As stated. You have a 2001 website in 2011, almost 2012. Even UO and EQ1 had server forums, subforums for things like UI and suggested features, Guilds per server recruiting etc. Forums are a community hub, and to have them restricted as much as you do lessens your appeal to SO many. I want to be able to find what I need (search, ya know that thing EVERYONE has, even sites that dont need it) without going through 30 pages of 'general' chat because there is no sub forum for them.

Also burns me to go to read the test server forums to see people suggesting things there (and being told GENERAL is the place to post , really? ) only to have the threads locked. You took a LONG LONG time to finish this game, and unless you really really want us to think that all that time was spent on voice acting , you have totally dropped the ball.

Not that everyone expected you to be perfect mind you, but heck , you dropped the ball on so much that is so obvious in so many other games that it really sets you back from what you could, and should be.

    2 cents.
