  1. Why is that? Aren't we supposed to be a DPS class? Shouldn't a DPS class be able to deal enough damage to kill ONE focused target in a 1v1 fight? I'm just trying to understand your...uh...'desire'?! to be worthless 1v1.

Yes we are a DPS class, but only support DPS. Commando is itended for support DPS, not one and one. Of course you can win 1v1 fights with commando but that is not the intention. Stay as far away as possible and help your mates win the batlle.

  2. I predict the following for next week:

    - The remaining EU En PVE servers will get merged into the new destination server Dune Bantha.

Merging 10 more servers into the current EU En PVE server would over pupulate that server.

This will not happen, because the they could have done this allready. Or at least they could start with 2-3 servers and monitored that this weekend. They didnt. They have absolutly no excuse for not doing that on Friday. Their excuse was that they are monitoring existing transfer. And existing transfer will not reflect opening a NEW destination server. Becuase that will be a whole other ball game with different users.

So my guess is that they are moving all servers to Red Eclipse. They need to see the weekend transfers and they need to see how the population lowers in the beginning of next week. Why else would they wait an risk loosing customers ?

  3. I will quit the game if Bioware goes F2P in SWTOR. The conent will be much worse and player base would be players going in and out of the game. Also everything will cost more money and in the end it will probably be more expensive. Like Diablo 3 is now, you can spend $3000 dollar in Gear only. That is bad:

Bioware will not use this money to upgrade the game. The money will only END with EA. I think maybe EA will push Bioware to do this becuase the competition with other MMOs make the player base low and having a payable MMO may not be viable in the future. Too bad so many people quit becuase this could really be a great MMO.

I will also reconsider buying BW games in the future.

  4. I understand your reasoning about evaluating population to avoid queues, but there is also something I can't understand.

On all servers of certain types, there is certain amount of active players(let's assume that you consider as such only thise with active subscription and character above lvl10). You have to evaluate population od destination server of this type so it won't end up overpopulated, so this means there are more such players than server can acomodate.

In cases of server types where there is more than one destination server, this makes sense to see which one will fill up and redirect others to destination server that still has space. But with only one destination server of given type, what options do you have after you evaluate popoulation?

Since you still haven't opened another destination server, it would mean all those people could fit one already existing. Since you didn't allow everyone from same server type to transfer here yet, it's possible it'll fill up. So in best case scenario, you get one server holding everyone interested in given server type, and no place for newcommers. In worst case scenario, you have to open new destination server to hold those remains. And since it's possible that they could land on already existing destination server, they probably make up about 10% of server capacity, and this new server is still ghost town compared to others.

Could you explain how your evaluating prevents creation of destination servers that would stay light forever?

Hear hear... please answer this Bioware

  5. No, it does not look like it. Please see the reasoning in my previous post.

Then you should start handing out carrots and cookies to the people who are stuck in empty servers while the rest of the population is having a GREAT time this weekend. Or else I think you could start giving advice on other MMO games that we can play instead. I would rather play a crappy MMO with people on it than this. THIS IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

  6. All right folks, I have an update for you.

As mentioned before, because of the logistics in monitoring the rate of character transfers and population shifts onto destination servers, our cadence for opening up origin servers will change day-to-day.

As we approach the weekend, we want to be careful about where to allow additional servers to transfer to so as not to overwhelm current destination servers. Many weekend players will be logging in, contributing to our overall analysis.

This means that we need to monitor populations and rate of transfers over the weekend before opening up new servers. We understand that players are anxious to transfer, but please be patient during this process so that we can deliver the best gameplay experience that we can offer.

    Two Question:

One: Why dont you start transfer to a NEW destination server for EU PVP ? Are you planning on moving us all to Red Eclipse or do you not have enough people there at the office to monitor both transfers at once ?

Two: Does this meen you wont open more transfers today ? This was a little bit blurry....

  7. Hi everyone, I just wanted to remind you all that overnight population shifts and rate of transfers will affect the opening of origin servers on a day to day basis. What this means is that, while we've been able to open several servers over the past few days, the cadence for opening them will undoubtedly be different each day. Rest assured that I'll post here when I have a fresh update.

Then I think they are planning in moving all EU PVE to Red Eclipse. There should not be any issues opening a new origin server and start transfer of low populated servers to that one. Example start moving people to Dune Bantha should not be a problem. Still they are not doing it.

  8. Not happening. If anything Dune Bantha will become an alternative destination to The Red Eclipse since it's the 2nd largest EU PvE server. Personally I'm hoping my server Sith'ari will be transferred to Dune Bantha since The Red Eclipse is getting ridiculously full to the point where you cannot do anything except instanced content.

That can happen. But will probably not happen untill next week. I think they will monitor the Red Eclipse this weekend and beginning of next week to see how the fall in users will be.

  9. Let's all cross out fingers and hope they get these things done today and don't insist on making some people wait through the weekend.

I sincerely feel like this would be a terrible mistake.

They have already said that it will be few today and that they want to wait untill next week to do the rest.

We opened up many servers at the beginning of this process and only a few remain to be opened up for transfers. You will see us opening more up tomorrow and into next week. We understand that everyone is excited to transfer, but we do have to see how each day's transfers affect server populations in order to open up more origin servers each day.

  10. 20 English PVE Servers in total, 9 have gone to The Red Eclipse, which is why the general concensus of opinion is that they will do something similar with the remaining 10 (either Dune Bantha or Bacca Blade as destination, the remaining 9 as origin)

I am not sure. Think about what they have done in the states and with the PVP servers. And think that ... yes... the population is high right now, but in some days maybe this will level. Bioware seems to want people on the server all day. Not just at peek time. So maybe maybe all will be transfered to Red Eclipse.

Right know I dont think they know. Therefor I think that the rest of the EU transfers will be done next week when they seen the weekend and how the population drops on Monday. So EU guys dont have your hopes up today!

  11. We're watching the populations, watching how many are transferring, considering the impact of those transfers, and working to ensure destination servers have a healthy population. All of this data informs what we open up and where those servers go. It's important that we let the data we're receiving guide the process, and we appreciate everyone's understanding.

But you been watching the EU servers for a while now. You should have a lot of data now ??
