  1. Sorry...

    Not gonna happen...

The 64bit has been asked over and over again since launch...

The Alpha code of the hero engine + costumization from the dev team at the time, don´t allow for a simple port or recompilation for that uarch.

The problem is now much more complex, because if it was a easy work, the game could be ported for the hero engine 2 or later, but its simply not possible anymore without intense staff and resources allocated.

Its easier to redo the game on Unity or UE4 or 5, then its to port to the Hero Engine X.x

    Best Regards,

  2. The purpose was to modernize the game and bring in new players! They did an awesome job by introducing Combat Styles!

Actually this update is just a shameless cash grab...

The "inovations" where actually pretty stu pid from a story standpoint...

Dual styles for a character might made some sense, in a context of a story line or a quest...

Where our toon, did have some "training"... this is like being a mary sue... wee... Jedi Knigh is now a Sith Warrior...

    Like this make any sense...

If you want a sith warrior, go create one and do the story of it...

I like twists and turns... (a story like revan or others that changed side or stayed in the gray area of the force).

What is being implemented is sacriledge to me... Twisting the whole gameplay of this game...

Just revert to 6.0 and forget 7.0 "Great IDEAS"...

    Best Regards,

  3. Hello,

I 100% agree with the OP...

Im here since the beggining (and it seems in the end too)...

And i just care about the story content (solo and some MP Quests like Group Zones and FP).

I don´t care about PVP, and any other MP part of this game...

So like me, many where drawn here, because this is the mostly resemblence of a KOTOR 3 (that we never got...).

I soaked with all the story content, companion content, and later expansion content.

But after the Eternal Throne stories, the game did dry up... all the story after that, was bone dry and irrelevent from what i saw it...

The development of this game goes at glaciar pace... and this is not acceptable for a montly sub game.

I was a sub for years on end, and after the last "expansions" i stopped giving them money...

I told to myself... stop being an i di ot and start punish them the only way they know... the wallet!

Show them that only when new content is here, is when you give them money...

    NO WORK.... NO MONEY...

GARBAGE WORK... also ... NO MONEY...

This is the only language they understand.... 0101010101010 €/$ this is the binary accepted by EA and BIOWARE.

This 7.0 is just the icing on the cake... 10% of Story Content... 90% of problems and ideas that don´t work and others that wheren´t even asked for...

Sub for just one month to give them the benefit... but from my 30 days i just used 2 days... i didn´t even finished the Elom FP, because its boring, buggy and nerfed...

So whats left for now and the future?

Honestly... not much... past actions reveal any interest from who are in charge... Lack of vision (curious), lack of motivation, lack of staff, lack of resources.

Nothing is going to change... and this is just a cash grab now... Sell crappy CM, making ppl sub for 1 month to get "expansions", to get promissed fixes and "updates", etc...

Its heartbroken that i see this game on this state... after i got so many great moments and stories... The engagement with companions... romantic options and all...

ALL NOW GONE... a distant memory...

    LPC

  4. I agree...

The lack of engagement is staggering for this game...

The age of the MMO´s is closing to an end, and many ppl are past from this timesink of a game...

Like it was said, the game don´t really reward you with the time wasted on it...

About the story, many casuals wanted an KOTOR 3, but got this Wanna be of a game...

Being SW, there where no choice... and many went to it just for the story (class and planet stories).

After 50, the story started to be weaker and weaker... but it was kinda revitalized with the Eternal Empire Story Arc.

Many winned about the content... and because wanted more MP out of this game...

So Part 3 of the Story Arc was canned, and even less story content where released...

The last "expansions" have been a joke, story wise... nothing really have move at all... No more companion storys... No more interesting and complex writing... just plain sad and not interesting Imps vs Rep tug...

And then 7.0 came... and its horrible... For so much time waiting the lack of content is unnaceptable...

The changes are questionable, and to me is just a way of them spitting on the playerbase.

Many try to suggarcoat the dev team... you owe them NOTHING and no simpaty is needed to such an incompetent bunch...

Starting by the higher hierarquy, to the publisher, all of them are responsable for this miserable state, this game is in...

They don´t really care... and if they don´t care should we care?

Like i said before, vote with your wallet and money...

Any other game that didn´t have the SW name, would allready be dead and burried...

    Best Regards,

  5. Some thoughts:

About companion strength, we’re investigating why they are underperforming in level-synced content.

With respect to modernizing our UI, we know this is an area where opinions are going to vary widely, and we don’t expect that to change. However, these updates are vital to the ongoing success of SWTOR as technology continues to improve far beyond where it was when the game shipped, such as monitor resolutions or GPUs being faster and having more memory. We know UI changes must be evolutionary and we need to ensure consistency, improved experience, and just better overall flow.

We are listening and will continue to make adjustments based on your feedback. We are hopeful as we release patches, we’ll find a balance between updated designs, making adjustments, and ensuring your play experience is enjoyable.

    --Keith-

How hipocrit of you to say that to us...

Don´t you know... don´t fix what is not broken? The scaling on the template does work well even in 4k!

So don´t give us some random BS about tech... that is laughfable when you are using alpha code of an ancient hero engine...

How about complete revamp to later versions of the hero engine? Sorry... you dev team simply don´t have the skills to pull it off...

I have worked with the Hero Engine and Hero Engine 2 for many years and i know the need to have skilled personel to update and keep all functions working was it should...

Messing around will break many sub functions and debugging then will be a pain in the ***...

Yes iterate... yes evolve... but on things that are really in need of change... and the UI was not one of them...

So if you are listening... where is the Expansion? Im still waiting for the "epic" and Bioware Story that i was promissed a long long time ago...

Its seems Bioware Magic , is not working very well for this title...

To EA i say... New leadership on this project and in Bioware Austin is needed...

The lack of vision is evident for these last years...

Change is needed and FAST, before this game is unrecoverable...

  6. I must say, now that I've had a few days to mull this over, your post is nothing more than damage control. And you've failed miserably in doing that. You are sticking to this no matter what happens to your player base or the monetary cost that it is already hitting you with. Since 7.0 dropped, in 20 days, you've lost 44% of the Steam players that stopped playing the game. How many of those were subscribers? Probably all of them since being subbed to this game was required to play 7.0. That's roughly $126,000/month. How does it look from the PC platform? I bet it's more.

You show up 20 days later to "offer your insight," I should say, from some hidden place, to address us now? I know you have the metrics telling you how many people have unsubbed. Coupled with Steam, I believe you've lost a large percentage of your long term monetary income. Your CM, which you've sabotaged with this update, will not staunch the monetary bleeding you're experiencing.

7.0 is a failed update, your damage control post here, has failed, spectacularly so. To make matters worse, your direct competitor, FFXIV, will be releasing brand new content in Mid-April with all new MSQ, side quests, dungeons, Raids, and much, much more. They know to keep their player base satisfied. BW has operated the exact same way since 4.0. I call it Trickle down content release. It took you 2 years to give us an 7.0 you call an expansion? It's anything but an expansion. It's a contraction if anything.

It's time to face reality. Your attempt to force your vision (nightmare) on us by fundamentally altering the game, it's mechanics, and the very foundation this game was designed with, is a failure, obscenely so.

I'm sure EA is watching very attentively. I'm sure they'll pull the same stunt with y'all as they did with the original crew when they released Update 1.2. That which ultimately lead to 80% or more of the original crew being let go.

It's time to admit this "venture" failed. To salvage it, one would surmise that you revert back to the last version of 6.0. Keep the Legacy of the Sith, Combat Styles too. But the mechanics, skills, modable gear, and the rest must be reverted back to. You don't want renown in the game? Turn it off. You don't want any FPs being farmed? Limit them to 3 a day per character. Return Conquest to what it was, but leave the 100k CXP. Open it back up, do away with "bound to legacy" trap you have so each alt a player has can utilize conquest to its fullest. You don't want money or xp being awarded? Turn them off.

This is how it should've been done from the outset. However, you not only changed the dressing, you replaced the plumbing with something so complicated it affected every aspect of the game because of Alpha version Hero Engine that is looks like spaghetti code. Minor tweaks were required to make changes. Y'all took a freaking wrecking ball to clear it all away, replacing with something that looks like an apprentice low level coder and artist student designed and put through.

Right now, I can tell you with assurances, that for everyone one unsatisfied, upset, enraged, and disappointed customer are telling 16 people of just how bad things are for SWTOR. And with each individual they tell, will in turn tell 16 people. This will gone on exponentially and it will be embellished with person repeating it. This is what happens when a customer believes they've been screwed over a product they've loved and their loyalty trampled on, all for a Future Vision that turned into a nightmare.

Mind you, a customer who is satisfied, only tells 8 people and because it's not an outlandish tale, it dies between the second and third group. Bad PR burns bright and long, good PR burns dimly in comparison and has a short half life. That's the nature of Public Relation and Customer Satisfaction.

Right now, you have a hellish fire of a conflagration PR for this game, BioWare, and EA. I see it on Twitter, Reddit, Twitch, and the other social media platforms. The question is, are you willing to do what is necessary and right to put this fire out? Staying the course believing this can be fixed, knowing the major issues "some" players are having, will lead to even greater problems for everyone involved in this update. Worse for the players who have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in support over the last ten years.

Finally, what you've done with 7.0 is what was done to SWG with NGE. That game died. Is this what you want for SWTOR? I most certainly hope not.

    Well explained and 100% true...

My month resub is almost over with just 1 or 2 days or playing this 7.0 nightmare...

I will not resub again until i see REAL Changes happening to this situation...

I keep saying the same... ppl vote with your wallet... and do your solene vow...

Don´t give them nothing but the dirt... Respect must be earned... also the money must be earned...

Right now they don´t have any from me...

  7. No i don't feel sorry for him, this man is a root cause to this desaster with his elitist mind set.

The gearing system 6.x was pretty fine, why changing an wasting ressources only to implement this bull.....?

Who really needs the UI update?

Who want to drop the renown system?

Who cares about this meaningless new OP? - If you want to play OPs, play WoW they have 6 or more in the time here they get one.

SWTOR is story based - so f.... of this OPs and bring great long-lasting story content, new planets with great areas to explore with several daily quest hubs.

Implement a way to freely explore the space and build mining spots, colonies or something else.

There are much more potential then stupid Operations

    I can full agree...

This man don´t have the capability to drive this game forward...

Well not just him... but the leadership at Bioware Austin as a whole...

This debacle is just the culmination of this mismanagement..

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  8. Well i would be more worried for the ukranian players, that now, might not have a house, a computer...

Internet Connection or even Electricity to play the game...

Even Worse.. many might not be alive anymore to play the game...

Bullies do what "person" on Russia do... When they don´t know how to discuss the go for stupidy...

And that is what is happening right now...

Ukrain suffers, Russia suffers, Europe Suffers, nobody wins...

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  9. It's right here: https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=10015070#edit10015070

(although, imo , it should've either had a slightly different forum thread TITLE ...or.... they should've just merged these 2 threads together )

Thats true... but he is so disconnected from the playerbase that he really don´t care about it...

Well if we read that BS of post, you will see that its him talking to himself...

No explanation to why the 7.0 is this garbage of "expansion", and where is the content promissed?

To me is pure and simply "milking" the playerbase, and making all of us passing by fools...

The delay of 2 months where for what exactly? Vacations?

The more i see half baked escused the more pissed i stay... Remember we pay to have updates like this... This is not available as F2p or "Prefered" status...

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  10. Well so much hipocrisy on the original post...

Mr. Keith... what you and your team did do with the 2 month delay you asked to the player base (after many have resub just for the new expansion).

From the looks of it.. nothing... or even worse add things that where not needed and did not need fixing.

Like many have already write here, it seems that you don´t really care about the playerbase vision... and its only YOUR vision that matters...

7.0 for you is a "new" foundation for the future... What future? Do you think ppl will stay and play a game on the current state?

Many pay to play the game, and its not CHEAP!

Im baffled for the lack of honesty of your part, where nothing about the lack of story content, companion story content, class development, etc... is refered...

I understand... i understand... 90% of the budget was poured on the CGI Trailer to "WOW" the StarWars Community... and to pursuate many new ppl to come and play the game...

But the 10% where spend on what? Recriating UI? did we need it? did we wanted or asked for?

This is not an innocent post... after almost 3 weeks, many that have resub for just on month, have just one week more before, being charged... You want to give players motive to resub again for another month...

But how about this... the SUB playerbase, should all DE-Sub, and only RE-Sub again when the promisses are kept...

The playerbase, must start voting with their wallets, and punish the liars, and reward the honest ones...

What you will be Mr. Keith?

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  11. Forum Manager... (Whatever you are...)...

Thanks for censoring my post on this topic...

I did explained several situations i thought unnaceptable from Bioware Austin...

But it seems its better to stuck the head in the sand, then is to reply to the community.

For me just show how the users are treated...

    LPC

  12. Well...

Like many others... i did start this game in the BETA testing.

After that i purchased the CE, and played allmost non stop (paying), since launch.

I did stop paying after the Eternal Throne, just resubing from time to time to see if anything did improve later on...

Well the anwser is no... it did not improve, and worse... it seems the effort is less and less...

I tested this new "expansion", and it looks more of and DLC that a expansion...

Its riddled with bugs, and the cutscenes are just a disgrace... Lots of problems with the camera changes, reloading assests, etc...

The story is not what was promissed and is so shallow, that im still trying to compreend what did happen on developing this expansion...

Even some of the dialog seems uninspired and boring... I did find hard to "connect" to the story...

Then we have UI alterations that where not needed and they are awfull...

The Character interface, the Inventory Interface and that annoying bar opening each time i login...

I don´t get it... minimal effort all around...

What i feel and take from all of this... is that the team at Austin are tired and bored of this game...

I understand... the game engine is garbage and a pain to work with...

There is no budget to do anything... they are going on scraps...

EA is milking this game to the bone... just cashing in on the Cartel Crap and the idiots like me that still sub (even for a month), to see if there is life on a rock.

The lack of response from the devs clearly says what i believe...

They don´t like this game, they don´t care, and this game is on its final legs...

I prefer to keep great memories from the Vanilla version and the Stories from 1 to 50...

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  13. Well i Agree...

The most fun i got from SWTOR was with vanilla content (leveling from 1 to 50 was fantastic).

The stories where fun and great, and kept going for more and more...

Also i do miss the companion stories and the way they related to us and to our options on the game.

This and the class stories where stripped away after the first expansion...

I did enjoy the revan expansion, and the eternal empire story arc.

But after that is just awfull...

Even now im playing this expansion and i can´t seem to "engage" on the story...

There is a enormous lack of "soul" on it... even the dialogs seem unispired...

To me is... revert to the original vision, and restart from there (with better expansions even if payed...).

Or terminate this project, and release a KOTOR 3 or 4, or an SWTOR 2.

    Best Regards,

  14. Bioware/EA are lucky to get the Star Wars Licence.

    Well...

    Not so lucky to us...

Bioware, just have done a piss poor job managing this game since release...

Expansions have been so so... I would prefer to pay for a good expansion, that have 4 or 5 "DLC´s" for free...

    These "expansions" are just garbage...

The game didn´t just flat out because its a SW game... any other non SW IP, would have been declared dead and burried a long time ago...

But hey... we still have Cartel Market! :p

  15. Actually....

I have been thinking... for so low content update, they really did take their time slow......ly...

now... there is nothing... like it was... before 6.2...

I really would like to know what lies ahead for this game...

I could only imagine what could have been this game and up in a much more capable hands (not EA...).

    Best Regards.

    LPC

  16. Hello,

I think i speak for many others...

We want more content... more story and a more steady pace...

There is no Roadmap with the release window of content to this game, and i have not seen any new stuff or ideas being release by the Creative Director for this game...

I like many others would even pay for a expansion if the content released was vast enough...

But we are starved for content... we see te potential for so many good things... and then we see an ENORMOUS lack of initiative from Bioware Austin...

Until then i will keep waiting for some light at the end of the tunnel...

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  17. I Live in Portugal, and belive me there is a pandemic allright...

But HouseWorking is now a thing even more on digital products like games, music, etc...

After almost an year, i was expecting way more than it was delivered... This content is nice but not enough to ask the price of Sub.

So whats next? Another wave of months of waiting for 6.3? I don´t understand how a game is runned like this...

This is an online mmo, there is allways a need of content updates...

    I can´t pay what i don´t have... its simple...

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  18. Hello,

Clearly the best part of this update...

As for the Flashpoint... welllllllllllllllll............. Not so much... Boring as hell.

Even killing so many mob´s just to make it a little longer, didn´t bring me any joy whatsoever...

All in all, it just too little for so much time waiting... I have resubed for 3 months, but im now early canceling my sub again... There is nothing interesting to do...

They better earn a tone load of cash selling costumes and pets, and... crap, because the subs, will not stay if there is nothing interesting to do... Rinse and Repeat is really not for me...

    Best Regards,

    LPC

  19. Can't comment about Germany, but in France, pretty much everything is voiced over (movies, tv series, animation, video games...), you still have a choice to keep the original voices most of the time, but it gives more option, and this case, let you play in your own language.

I personally like the french version of this game more than the english one and i'd be pretty pissed if it went from me being able to play in french to me being forced to play in english, especially since there are some of the english voices i trully dislike.

Anyways they started the game with English, French and German as possible options, it's too late to change it now.

Sorry to say... but that is lazy to me...

I understand animation for kids and small children to understand the stories, but for adults... PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEE....

In Spain is the same thing, they don´t understand movies in English with Subtitles.... ***??

Im Portuguese, and here we respect ART and the original creators... If the product is made in English, but have Subtitles, that is the way to go...

Not Dubbed versions, just to do the lazy work of the citizens of that specifically country...

This OFC is not a Critic just to SWTOR, but many many games and media do this...

Wasting limited resources that oderwise would be used for better the product itself...

    With my very best regards,

    LPC

  20. Hello,

There are 2 itens missing from 2021:

    a) Redone of starting planets and some core story planets on Vannilla SWTOR.

    b) Improve pipeline and rendering of the engine (with the help of the creators of the Hero Engine).

I for one expected or wished, that the Hero Engine was updated for the latest version and all the assets where recompiled to that new version.

Better Threads handling, DX11, more advanced visual features...

    Lets just hope...

  21. As the question asks is what happens next to the game? Now im not going to speculate story and such but more look at the time line of how story has released in the past 9 years which is why im fearful for what actually is going to happen.

As said from Devs in the Cantina and been stated numerous times through other sources that after this 6.2 patch it is finally the end of an era when it comes to the overall story that started on the game release in 2011.

Original game release was DEC 2011 had tonnes and tonnes of content to play.

Expansion Rise of the Hutt Cartel - APR 2013 - Had loads of content again.

Expansion Shadow of Revan - DEC 2014 - Once again had tonnes of content.

Expansion Fallen Empire - OCT 2015 - Had tonnes of content

Expansion Eternal Thone - DEC 2016 - Had tonnes of content

Over the last 4 YEARS we have had effectively 3 SHORT (interlude) Story lines being Traitor/Jedi under siege and Onslaught all of which were released as updates (at an average release timing 6-8 months apart) and gave a major less playtime experience overall than any previous expansion did.

I talk about playtime experience for these updates as in every expansion between 2011-2016 being hours and hours of time to playthrough and do stuff taking days, where the past 4 years story content can be done in like a few of hours.

Now that is what really leads to my fear for the game that also asks the question where the game goes from here? Being that there was all the talk at the last Cantina on twitch about the 10th anniversary in 2021.

Everyone talks about a new expansion happening then, but what happens story wise over the next year - Nothing?? Is it just going to be another year of Quality of Life Changes? And these QoL changes lets remember have been happening loads and loads since 2017 when Iokath and Gods was finally released a year late.

A year of doing more to PvP and rehashing changes over old content.

I have loved this game since its release - but like i have mentioned i really fear for the next year and lack anything content based which will drive people away from playing the game. Compared to other MMO's who in the same period since 2016 have brought out up to 10 times more content with the multiple expansions and patches than SWTOR have done. Namely other smaller Developers like Lord of the Rings Online and Star Trek Online both whom have less resources than EA/Bioware.

Community managers communication/interaction needs to a massive step in the right direction in letting the whole community know what lies ahead in the future rather than the old "we have plans" comments "but we are not aloud to talk about that"

There is so much more that could be said but i will leave it at that and just hope that things are not left in limbo from the game for too long.

    Excelent Post...

    My thoughts exactly...

I could even pay for an expansion if there was enough content on it...
