  1. So, I have couple of questions about how this keyboard works.

    1. The Keyboard touch screen and specifically the browser: Does this work interdependently from your PC browser? Can you be monitoring a web page or web app as you play SWTOR?

    2. What about a combat parser third party app running on your touchscreen? It seems that if you have programmable keys, you could launch a real time parser and have that running on your keyboard touch screen getting feedback on dps, threat and or heals. Now... this would greatly enhance the keyboard! I don't like the overlay, because it is too distracting, but on the keyboard I could easily monitor the parser between fights etc.

If the answer to my second question is yes, then I would use this keyboard differently than the OP. I would use the movement keys and other mappings as normal and only use the touchscreen for a real time parser and maybe other webb apps that may be useful like Torehead etc. In fact... I would buy one today. lol!

As a personal preference, I don't have an issue with it not being mechanical. I used to game with a digital keyboard and got use to the feel. In fact, I found it to be very responsive.

On last thought... I think that this keyboard would be great with add ons. Given the lastest information from the Gaming Conference in Europe it seems BW and devs are going to loosen their grip a little and allow more add ons. If so, there could be some really cool apps in the future that will make full use of a keyboard like this.

    1) yes it does, you can browse almost anything, pinch nd zoom like on iPhone for example

    2) I WOULD LOVE THAT !!!! have not found one.

Ideally, Yes, would like to have on that screen an apps showing either farming companion or DPS or even better, part of the UI you could transport from main screen to the secondary screen. Not sure how to do it though. If you find an explanation somewhere, I can try

This is maybe to many the main thing to improve, because OH YEAH, this would really be great to use that touchpad for that purpose.

  2. Reason why I was silent and did not answer most of posts is that I saw that this thread was actually transformed into a debate on why to buy or not to buy this keyboard and it was not the intention.

Now, having used the keyboard for a month + , I can answer people who were interested to know how to use this properly.

PLEASE ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT DEBATE HERE if this is a good or bad keyboard, think we got your points if you dont like it lol.

    SO ...:=)

After a month my feedback is :

    1) GREAT TOY TO SHOW OFF

    - Definitively creates the WOW when you turn it on and plays with it

    2) PLASTIC FEEL

    - Yes I agree, for this price, the keys are plastic feel and more like "laptop" feeling that "mechanical"

    - Not to my liking, I would not type everyday on it but for the game , I do not care.

    - I prefer personally the "mechanical" type feel, but this is personal

    3) KEY BINDINGS

    - Had some problems with Synapse at the beginning but seems to be stabilized now.

    - HOWEVER, I recommend you SYSTEMATICALLY backup your saved configuration, just in case

    4) ICONS, SOME MISSING

    - Not a big deal though, but YES, it seems that some SWTOR spell icons are missing, had to use some from other class

    - Easier would be to have a databank and someone create them, but am fine so far.

    5) Wrong location, right side

    - YES AGREE, think this is a design flaw, but I found a way to manage this

SO, IF YOU ARE RIGHT HANDED , this is what I recommend.

    1) USE your mouse as usual, nothing changed.

    - Of course, am using the SWTOR mouse with 12 buttons, this one is just AWESOME , no debate

    - Just recommend to use cable, not wireless that is a bit unstable sometimes

    2) REBIND KEYS CLOSE TO THE MOUSE PAD

    - I have rebind the AWSD keys to DEL-HOME-END-PAGEDOWN

    - I switch the keyboard to my left

    - I used those new keys in addition to the 10 additional page 2 or 3-4 (up to you) skill keys.

    - I recommend you keep your main spell on the mouse, and use some defense or other "reactive spells" on the new touchpad.

I will take a picture later from home (am at office), and upload here + screenshot to show my keybinding.

Am not totally satisfied as I still need to use in addition to those, my side bar, but so far, I managed.

Open to see other keybindings, let me know.

Hope this help to answer questions on HOW to use this KEYBOARD and not DEBATING for ages WHY AND WHY NOT we should buy it...:=)

    Thanks guys

  3. Hi Guys

Finally reached end game, Lvl50 and beat Barras Yesterday. Then I was a bit "somehow" disappointed , not by the story line or the game but by the loot of the end game.

I was expecting to get some gears or at least anything as a "reward" but I did not get anything at all. Got my Chapter 3 Sith Warrior unlocked, dailies, Ilium, Voss bonus series, all this is good, but is it me or did I miss anything ?

I was hoping to get those Biometric Cristal Alloy to at least being able to craft the rat aka gear but nothing at all. Seems you got them only from operations HM and vendors commendations...

For beating Darth Barras , there is no loot at all ? No gears ?

    Thanks for answer.

  4. Hi guys

just want to get your feedback. AM crafting synthweaving (400/400/400) and usually have a decent RE score for purple items. Of course based on the item, but usually ok. Am Jugg level 42.

I am facing a huge challenge to RE an augment item. It took me ages to RE it from Green to Blue and I am spending fortune to try to RE in purple....No debate on statistics, I know how it works and am fine with it.

My questions is : have you experienced a HUGE gap in the level of success of RE between augments and normal items ? In my case, it is really obvious. Despite a 20% success chance of RE the Command Augment 13 (lvl31), I still can not manage to RE it in purple.

    Is it a bug ?

Is it normal as my character never RE augment and only used to do Synthweaving armors ?

Do you experienced the same issue or am I only really, really not lucky there (but I doubt it, statistically, does not make sense that ONE specific item only can't be RE).

    Thanks for your answer !

  5.

I bind all my abilities to my numpad + insert, delete, home, end, page up, page down panel. I also use the arrow keys for movement, whereas most folks use AWSD.

Not a bad idea, wondering if there is any website, post where people upload their keybinding to compare. I wish i could update on the SWTOR keyboard the trackpad to a directional key and then it would be perfect then

  6. 1. The biggest issue (one that if not fix I will be returning it) is that the keys seem to stick.

    2. I was using the G15/G13 keyboards & gamepad then after disconnecting the G15 Keyboard and installing the Razor Synapse 2.0 software the Logitech LCore.exe (there macro program) keeps getting a Runtime Error when I try to open it.

    3. I have noticed that it is missing a few of the abilities icons in the image library (at least for the sith warrior).

    4. I was unable to use the "Generate Color Crystal Code" until today so 48 Hours after installing it I finally got it to work.

My feedback as you seem to be one of the ONLY one posting an answer linked to the post and not debating on why we should or not buy it lol...:=)

    1) No issue on my side

    2) No issue as well but was using regular keyboard before. Had an issue with the mouse once, had to reinstall and change the hardware then ok

    3) Yes I noticed. Best would be screenshot am afraid so far

    4) Same for me , but to be honest it is very useless.Had one for the mouse : +4 critical...:=(

  7. I do have a question for the OP

How are the keys to use? They look kinda flat and ... I dunno like a laptops keypad.

How did you find them? do they press in nice?

Yes the keys are a bit flat, kind of laptop feeling, bit more plastic, not the best to be honest, but still looks so cool..:=)

  8. Hi guys

just a question out of curiosity. Being synth weaving crafter, i check GTN market price on the crating missions people are selling. I am always surprised to see Underworld Trading 340 purple mission going to 50k !

Is it really worth it ?

I have difficulties to understand so if some one could enlighten me....

    Thanks !

  9. This keyboard is abomination. Programmable keys are nice, but there's only ten of them, which is not nearly enough, plus they're on the wrong side. Also, a touchscreen? Does Razer seriously expect anyone to use touchscreen instead of mouse?

Basically, this is what happens when you let guys from marketing design a new product. Complete and utter failure.

ahahah, yes , not wrong....i find it useless so far..:=) but you know what , I still love it...ao ma trying to find a way to use it in games...

  10. well, there is a marketing say " There is no difference between kids and men. The only difference is the cost of their toys....:=)"

So Yes I did and I love it, but this is not the purpose of this thread if you mind...:=)

Back to question, am I the only buyer in the world ?..:=) wow....

PS : Happy to open another thread to discuss the necessity to have razer mouse, razer keyboard, razer headset, bigfootnetwork ethernet card, 5.1 logitech sound system, 24" DELL laptop, 120GB SSD drive boot and I don't even go in the cpu or graphic card. Oh yes and when I travel, well Alienware 11"...:=)

  11. This.

That's what makes is a rather bad idea to craft your own stuff. You can, but only a few pieces unless you're willing to be stranded in one area/planet waiting to get the all the items you want/need.

But also, level 50 crafters don't seem to bother with mid level items either. It's too costly to get them, and they can't charge much because, well people won't pay a lot for something that has short time usefulness. So the result is there are thousands of schematics (if you take in account all proffesions) that are mainly used as a mechanic to boost the skill to 400.

A lot of potential, but all those have little impact in the economy, little impact on the game.

Yes totally agree, am lvl33, I can see that. I produce items but the market is very cheap in price (for synthweaving) and poor in purple content, flooded by loots or normal blue, not even RE. From 40+ GTN is flooded with expensive gears. You are right, economics are not that good for purple items mid lvl.

  12. Hi everyone

finally got my new SWTOR Razer keyboard with the new multi touch trackpad and dynamic keys and wanted to discuss with other players on how you use it.

Overall feeling is great, the ability to custom keys to your own class skills any spell is just gorgeous, but how to use it ?

My struggle is the following :

    1) I already have the RAZER Mouse with the 12 keys

    2) I am using the AWSD traditional keys for directions

    3) If I am binding the new RAZER DYNAMIC keys to any spell, I end up with those keys on the extreme right of the keyboard, meaning impossible to access in combat situation.

Ideally would have been for me to have them on left but that is only my point of view.

Anybody tried it ? how do you play with it ? what spells you allocate ? only "fleet transport", "running" and "speeder" ? do you manage to play with it during combat ?

    Thanks for your input.

BTW, video posted on Youtube in case you want to have a quick overview :

  13. It's simple m8, before you start crafting with your companion that has the crit craft bonus, start saving dozens of mats that you need to craft. Keep in mind that crit craft simply makes the chance to get an augment on your crafted armor or weapon/implant/relic/offhand more likely to happen. However picking a companion that has higher affection(best when maxed) compared to a lower affection companion will craft faster.

So it's quite possible that your crit craft bonus companion with a lower affection will craft slower, but is more desireable to use when your aiming for augmented gear.

This is all you need to keep in mind with crafting, what is it I'm aiming for and focus on that. For example when you are crafting items with the intent to Reverse Engineer them to get a blue/purple shemantic out of them it doesn't matter at all whether you let a companion with no bonus craft. And in such a situation, since you probably need ALOT of items to craft it makes sense to farm/buy ALOT of mats way ahead of time.

    Clear

thanks for the answer, will continue to use the preferred character

  14. ok clear, I will check it out the affection level of my crew and max it out for increased performance.

So it means crafting or raw mat share the same bonus , linked to the companion right ? of if a companion is doing more crafting that the other one should i use that companion for crafting and the one doing raw mat for raw mat only or i can swap them ?

in my case, i use Vette for mainly crafting and mainly quin (when not with me) for raw mat. My only problem is quinn doesn ot bring bonus on archeology or underworld trading which Vette does. But when mummy craft, she can not do farming...:=(

  15. Ok.. at lvl 30.. why would you need purple? I've gone from 1 to 49.. and used blue's from commendations from the planets as I progress through them.. and not suffering any.

Really you only NEED the purples at 50 to be up there and competative.

For two reasons actually : Grid and pleasure....:=) True blue should be enough (depending on your class), but I confess, tanking Jugg needs good gear.

My Lvl 31 sith Jugg is 100% purple now, I RE every items for me ahead and sell them on GTN.

Agree with next post, going to the planet get orange, remove the mods and put in your orange set is working but from a stat point of view, not sure still..guess depends on the set and the item.

As a consequence of my "purplization" I reach decent stats for Level 31 :

    - ST : 529

    - EN : 603

    - Health : 7155

    - Armor Rating : 4622

    - Defense Red : 45.77%

    - Defense Chance : 16.11%

    - Shield Chance : 27.53%

    - Shild absorb : 25.31%

    what you think ?

  16. Now, Im only 25 but I've had NO problem farming the mats I need to RE blues to learn purps, mat farming is incredibly easy up to this point. I actually had to slow down cause I was overstocked with mats and was able to make items too far above my own level for a while.

And looking at your mat prices, maybe you're just selling your crafted gear too cheaply. If people can sell mats for high amounts like that then the items *should* be of equally high price/value.

Agreed, farming mats is still reasonably easy up to lvl30. Buying them is just faster...:=)

Back to your point, I was just answering someone saying that for example 20k for Purple item is way too expensive at level 29. I guess you and I agree, those items cost a lot.

Do you have any rating for Purple item pricing ? ie lvl 30 - 30k ? lvl 35 - 35k ? would be easy like this lol...of course this is server specifics I guess, am just trying to get a price range if you have.

  17. ok thanks

so I guess the last question is the bonus for crafting...

Clear on the crew bonus, jsut speed up on farming.

Clear on the RE linked to myself not to crew.

So for the crafting bonus (if any), ie the more I craft, the higher chance I get to produce good quality item. Is it linked to a crew or to myself ? If I always use Vette for crafting, should I stick to her or can switch to other crew ?

    thanks !

  18. ok, so let me know if I understand.

In my case, I use Vette, Quinn, 2V-R8

If I use systematically Vette to craft items, she will get a higher bonus to craft better items, right ? However, If I now craft with Quinn, Quinn will not benefits from her bonus.

In parallel, Vette as a bonus for farming raw materials, meaning same, her bonus only applies to her.

Then for RE, it just depends on me, clear.

Am I correct with above assumptions ? If yes, am in trouble as I use both Vette to farm raw materials and craft then..:=( lol
