  1. Hello!

For the mission One Kindly Monster I don't see the mission points in the Rakghoul tunnels on Alderann, and thus I can't progress in this quest.

As he is the last companion to recruit I'd appreciate any help.

I assume its because I gave him medical supplice before I entered the tunnels. But I am not sure if that's really the reason for this broken quest.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Hello!

Is the Agend quest Breakout on Belsavis bugged? I gigged all four prison cells and have to use the security console now. When I click on it it says: "Security lockdown in progress." And thats it. The screen stays as is and nothing else happens.

    Any hints?

  3. Hello!

Will we ever see some kind of environment to play Pazaak (or somesuch) against AI or other players with tournaments etc.?

And/or will there ever be a possibility to do speeder races in the same way as above. Or maybe manage a team who does the races, modify the bike(s) and such.

Seeing TOR as a sequel to KotOR 1/2 that should be a must have. This game could really use some sort of mini games which keep one busy and what could be considered content.

  4. Hello!

It would be a great feature if there would be a Legacy shared option so all your characters could get all the Codex entries a player finds. I wouldn't mind if one had to be Legacy 30 or higher as long as it shares all the entries of the past too.

As a sidenote it would be also great if all the bugged entries could be fixed. At least a word that it is worked on. It is such a nice feature, but in its current state also a pain.

  5. I did not aim for the new Flashpoint but the new Operation, and didn't have any issues regarding my dps output. All I critizies is that melees are on a disadvantage due to aoe effects which weren't an issue after switching to ranged dds.

Even if you say all this stuff is doable with melees, I still say its not okay if it is easier doable with ranged then with melee. Poor design in my book.

  6. Hello!

I play a Jedi Knight Sentinel, and my guild and I did okay for the established Flashpoints and Operations, having two or sometimes three melees in the first two Operations.

I love the game, and I hoped BioWare would not take the path most if not all other MMOs took, setting melees on a disadvantage. But after 1.2 and the introduction of the new Flashpoint and Operation I must say BioWare dropped the ball. Now the group composition is forced on the players without any space variation. After switching on my Trooper Gunner who is far worse eqipped as its only a twink things were much, much easier.

Admittedly those two instances are only live for a very short time. But only after a few tries it is obvious that they are much easier with only ranged dds. If this tendency goes any further we can kiss our Jedi Knights (and imperial counterparts) goodbye. And this has nothing to do with "learn to play".

  7. It seems to me like there are 2 different parts to this discussion.

The first part is this question of whether the RNG is truly working as randomly as it is supposed to be. Unfortunately, this is an unresolvable question and I think both sides are overstating their case.

The people claiming that it isn't properly random are really arguing that it doesn't *seem* random. They only have anecdotal evidence and that simply doesn't prove anything. They are only able to say how the RNG feels...they cannot definitively say what it *is* in terms of randomness.

On the other side we have the people that are claiming everything is fine, randomness is random, and the other group should quit whining. This case is overstated too. How do you know everything is fine? You dismiss the anecdotes of things being broken, but you have nothing better than anecdotal evidence suggesting that everything is fine. It isn't as though there are any hard numbers disputing the claims that the RNG isn't being random enough.

Who is at fault for this lack of evidence? Bioware is. Since we cannot get independent data mining in this game I can't go to a site like torhead and verify that the drops are actually properly randomizing. If we could then this first question would be open and shut.

There is, however, another question that I think is being overlooked. Even if the system is properly random, is an RNG system the right way to go? The people claiming everything is fine are largely assuming that if the system is properly random that it is fair and nothing should be done to change it. They are equating random with fair and that is simply foolish. Randomness by its very nature is unfair. Someone will always get screwed by the probabilities and someone else will be the fortunate beneficiary of those same probabilities. Is it in the interest of Bioware or the community at large for people to get frustrated and angry because they can't catch a break from the RNG?

For those people claiming everything is fine, ask yourself something. How many operations in a row with you getting zero drops for your class would it take to suck all of the fun out of the game for you? Would it matter that randomness was to blame rather than design? I think that seeing other people constantly being rewarded while you get nothing is frustrating and the opposite of fun and I don't think it matters whether it is random or not.

I understand that not knowing fully what will drop can be part of the fun. That's why I like the idea of tying things like relics, mounts, offhands, and even weapons to the RNG. That way there are drops that you are looking for and you get that excitement when you down a boss wondering what is going to drop, but you don't rely fully on a random system that can be terribly unfair.

This sums it ALL up. There is nothing more to say regarding this topic.

  8. Hello!

I just hit level 50 not one week ago and am juggling with my stats. Due to diminishing returns I aim (no, not the stat ^^ ) for the best values for my money - so to speak.

My priority -- aside from the obvious -- for the secondary stats so far lies with Critical Rating and Surge. As a combat specced Sentinel I hit often and thus want to crit as often as possible too. But at which value is putting more points into these stats such a small benefit that it is nearly useless?

My second concern is Accuracy which should be at least 100 % to hit every time we attack. Every percent point above 100 goes against the target's defence. Up until which value does it make sence to reduce the target's defence percentwise?

With higher Alacrity I got the impression that some of my abilities are effectively channeled faster. Is that also right with GCD? Can we manipulate via Alacrity how fast we attack over all or just for some abilities?

What are your thoughts regarding Power?

Any different takes on the stats?

And as a side note: The ability Riposte states "does not repect the global cooldown". Admitadely I don't use Riposte very often if at all. My thought is if Riposte is on the same keybind as another ability does it fire if available if I hit that key? Which might count for every ability with said statement then.

Thanks for any help and input.

  10. Don't be so negative, Surged! These posts contain highly appreciated information for us newcomers. and as I am not interested in PvP your informations are absolutely useless for me. For others they may be highly valued.

Back to topic though. As a newbie I would like to hear your thoughts about Cells and how you value which in which citcumstances.

    Thanks and take care.
